Pam and Randall Check-Ins

Date Place Comment
February 1st, 2018 El Jose De Tajo

Turn in about 50 yards past the fun park and several small restaurants. The Church book describes a cobblestone road, but it is being paved into a four lane concrete road. We still managed 100 pesos for a small Class C motorhome. Rest rooms are useable but certainly not well kept. A grand old place at one time.

November 14th, 2017 Punta Vista RV Park

250 pesos and i didnt need electric or a bathroom. I wasnt going to argue. 50 pesos is like $3. After a late start from Tucson i was done driving. Nice view over the town. Good meal at Elba's down the highway.

November 27th, 2016 Tachos Trailer Park

Super convenient to the airport, which was the reason for staying here. 450 NMP for one night, 3000 for the week. Weak wi-fi, well-kept grounds, pool and rest rooms, walk to Wal-Mart if you need.

What a beautiful place! We were here 8 years ago and things are still the same. 250 pesos for 2 ppl. Clean, no bugs, good restaurant.

January 13th, 2016 Zapote Tizupan aka Starfish Beach

Must have been hit by a hurricane and/or fire because it is DESTROYED!

January 11th, 2016 El Manglar

El Manglar restaurant on Playa LA Ropa in Zihua with 10+ full hook-ups in the enclosed parking area. Normally 6+ all winter snowbirds here. 300 pesos per night less for one week.

January 8th, 2016 Fonatur Ixtapa RV Park

Big rig friendly 300 pesos full hookups or tents allowed at 70 pesos per person. Right on the beach with beginner+ surfing and lessons available. Kind of stark and falling into disrepair. Typical government campground. Walk to Playa Linda and some beach restaurants.

January 6th, 2016 Diamante Acapulco

Directly at the intersection with the cuota and right next to the Grand Mayan entrance. Mostly French Canadian snow birds, but a good place if driving from the south. Electric, wi-fi, internet. 320 per night.

January 4th, 2016 Estacion Gas Ecologica

East on the 175 heading toward Oaxaca from the 200. Station on the right with a green sign at about 1 mile.

January 2nd, 2016 Hotel (NO CAMPING)

Pretty flat campsites, full pool and restaurant for the hotel. Electric available along with water and sewer. Could use some repairs. Asked 200 pesos per night but took 150. A walk down the street to the beach.

January 2nd, 2016 EDDA Cabanas & Trailer Park

Stopped by. Nice enough lady quoted 100 pesos to camp + 20 pesos per night for electric but it was just too tight for our liking. Headed over to the Hotel Villa Las Brisas/RV for more space, a pool and 150 per night.

December 28th, 2015 Ranchos Los Angeles

Adding photos.

December 28th, 2015 Ranchos Los Angeles

Quite busy due to Christmas week. Still 350 pesos with maybe a discount if you stay for one month. Pool and electric for the a/c have been great to beat the heat.

December 27th, 2015 Playa Tangolunda

adding a couple of photos.

December 24th, 2015 Bahia la Entrega - ?, FREE

We are not staying here tonight but the beach is great and so is the snorkeling. 20 pesos to park for the day.

December 23rd, 2015 Jose's Camping And Cabanas

Turn left onto the main street, go half mile and turn left again at the Garden Beach Hotel. Third time here. Always clean, always friendly. 2 blocks to the beach for 150 pesos or 175 with electric.

December 23rd, 2015 Playa Tangolunda

great place, still 50 pesos pp, clean rest rooms, showers, water and dump station. Easy to get to, hardly anybody here.

December 19th, 2015 Turicentro Auto Mariscos Balenario

200 quetzales per night! stiff but a clean place with good hook-ups and a nice water park.

December 15th, 2015 Turista Police Car Park

We are here amongst 5 campers and they are open!!! Disregard any older posts. They will want a copy of your passport for security reasons.

December 14th, 2015 Turista Police Car Park

We are here, they are open and no questions asked about bathroom or shoes facilities in our van. All they wanted was a copy of our passports so they know who is staying there.

December 9th, 2015 Pasaj cap - Lago Atitlan

Still here and open. Didn't have GPS but managed to find it with help from the nearby hostel. Take the dirt road before the big uphill turn. Go about one half mile. Small vehicles with good ground clearance recommended.

November 28th, 2015 Servicio Morelos Trailer Park

Warning. The gated RV section is closed! We were allowed to park amongst the trucks for no charge and use the rest rooms, but this is no longer part of their business.

November 26th, 2015 SonoraGreen RV

Coordinates are approximate but very close. Heading South, on the right hand side of Highway 15 after the second underpass. Fausto runs an artificial turf business and has 12 full hook-ups in his business "yard" plus a par-3 golf hole made out of artificial turf. 300 pesos. Half-bath only, no shower. A good stopping point if you have spent a full day from Phoenix or Tucson, or plan to head to the Copper Canyon from here.
