June 7th, 2016 Boarder Arg - Chile Argentian checkpoint

Small boarder crossing from Argentina to Chile. We went here after boarder in Mendoza was closed for a week and might be closed for further weeks after heavy snow. Process as usual. They will only let you pass with snow chains.

Road works, you only can pass after 6:30 pm

May 25th, 2016 Tannaxel Servicio Mecanico Integral

Realy the best mechanic we had on our whole trip along the Panamericana. Actually we needed a spare part for our Dodge what they do not have anywhere in Chile. He build a new part out of a Ford and even did some service around. He works a lot with engines as well. I am pretty sure if you have a problem he will find a solution or let you know what to do. Highly recommended!!

May 2nd, 2016 Llamagaz (US and EU bottles)

April 18th, 2016 Peaje - Overnight Stop

Camped here on our way to Cusco. Behind the Peaje Station is a small parking lot on the right. People are very friendly and security guy kept an eye on us. Good stop when it is getting late.

April 12th, 2016 Camping Guadelupe Jaime Veliz Caraz

Perfect place as everybody mentioned. We also left our Van here (10S) while hiking for couple of days in the beautiful Cordillera Blanca - completely save! After no showers for days a great hot shower was already waiting for us. We can highly recommend to stay here!!

March 27th, 2016 Camping Paraíso

It's open again and as described by all other overlanders. Sue is very welcoming and can help you for whatever you might ask for. The dogs are friendly and under perfect control of Sue. Enjoy your stay and don't miss the waterfalls!!

March 26th, 2016 Cloud Forest Hostel

parking in the parking lot, good overnight stop especially if you want to hike the Quilatoa Trail. We left our Van here for one night. Very safe as they close the gate after sunset. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and help for whatever you might need. We paid 5$ pP and if you want to have dinner ( incl. soup, main cause and dessert) you only pay 3$ pP.

March 26th, 2016 Backpacker Great Hostel

Is currently closed for maintenance - don't know for how long.

March 22nd, 2016 Camp Secret Garden

Nice Finca / Hostal with great view on the Cotopaxi. We came here to do hikes. You have to do a Tour, hiking by yourself is not possible as they to not have maps and the tracks are not sight out. Camping is not really cheap here - as described on there website do they sell packages (incl breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner and different activities). We had to pay 23$ pP incl the food, but for the hike we had to pay extra. Really expensive but also a really nice place (hot tube with view on Cotopaxi). I would recommend to contact them before arrival and negotiate a deal. The road is quite rough but doable w/o 4W drive.

March 14th, 2016 Parling Lot In Front Of Police Station

Make sure you are parking in the right spot. Night guards say it is only safe when they can see us, so we had to move in front of the church during night. All are really nice and helpful.

March 4th, 2016 Tempel

After a long drive in the dark through the mountains we had to pull over. There is a night guard, first he wanted nothing and on the next day he asked for 7.000 Pesos. Safe place to get some sleep

February 29th, 2016 Gas del Fonce

No problem to fill up our US tank as well, we paid 33.000

February 29th, 2016 Lubricentro
