July 5th, 2018 Purruja Lodge (NO CAMPING)

Just to clarify you can still camp here in a tent. Nice grassy area to put up the tent and basic kitchen area with bbq. Power points available at the kitchen area. Look out for the monkeys in the morning!

July 2nd, 2018 Pension Hostal Viajero

Paid €25 for modern double room with good ac and private bathroom. Kitchen available to use which was very clean. Laundry service €5 per 5kg. Fast WiFi! We stored our bicycles in the locked car park.

July 1st, 2018 La Isleta

Lovely place as described below. We camped on nice grassy area just in front of the river with lots of birds around. Showers and bathroom very clean. Super lovely hosts made us feel really welcome! $10 per tent (not pp)

June 16th, 2018 Hostal Venecia

Lovely place to camp. We pitched up our tent in the garden of the hostel. No one else here for the entire time! Hot shower, good kitchen, free coffee. Small shop with cold beer but I would recommend bringing some supplies! Internet quite good. 21,000 PP and does not include breakfast. Lovely area to explore. Didn’t do the tour but did do one of the recommended walks and you can use the pool up at the coffee lodge.

June 15th, 2018 Hacienda Guayabal - Chinchina

I emailed ahead and they confirmed that no tent camping permitted, vans only! Stayed at Hostal Hacienda 10km further north.

June 15th, 2018 La Serrana Hostel

Good spot for exploring Salento. 15pp (not per camper) in a van and 12 pp in a tent. They also had some glamping tents that were 60 per tent. This was a reduced price as on the website they are 80 per tent. Breakfast was ok, eggs and bread and a banana. Good coffee.

June 7th, 2018 Arte Hostal

Lovely hostel. Clean bathrooms and kitchen and nice areas for chilling out. Space to store bikes.

May 10th, 2018 Hostel Julia

Cheap and cheerful. Paid 40 soles for a double room. It was 70 for a twin. Hot water and WiFi, no breakfast. Opposite shopping mall type place with ATM, pharmacy, supermarket and KFC. Garage to store bikes.

May 8th, 2018 Restaurant & informal camp: el cerdito al horno

Pretty site open early in the morning. Didn’t try the food but great coffee and friendly owner!

May 6th, 2018 Restaurant Milagritos

Only place we could find open on Sunday morning. Coffee not great but served eggs and bread for breakfast. WiFi available but not working whilst we were here.

May 5th, 2018 Chacapuente

Basic double room cost 20 soles. Private bathroom but not hot water. Our room looked out onto the school bus river but had no curtains! Nowhere was open for dinner in the evening so we cooked in the room.

May 5th, 2018 Hospedje Catalina

Paid 30 soles for twin room. Basic but clean. Shower looks a bit grim but it was actually hot which was a nice surprise!

April 26th, 2018 Aguas Calientes

Paid 30 sol for double room and access to the hot baths! Basic rooms but welcome after a long cycle!! Wouldn’t recommend the restaurant on site. We paid 8s but only had a bit of a grim soup, no second course.

April 10th, 2018 Hostal Graciela (good place!)

Paid 140Bob for double room, private bathroom and breakfast (nice bread and jam, yoghurt, cereal, good coffee and fresh orange juice). WiFi decent in the lobby. Hot shower at last! Secure storage for the bikes.

April 7th, 2018 Hospedaje (Blue doors - entel logo outside)

Went to Hostel Franz but no answer so the lady working in the field, opposite brought us here. 30Bob pp, basic room, no shower. Very friendly family, her kids helped us clean the bikes!

March 24th, 2018 El Barco

Agree with first entry. Yummy food and great value!! Had salad and fish with pasta and a nice salsa on the side. Best posada stop so far!

March 20th, 2018 Posada la desierto

Posada to fill up on water, serves food.

March 20th, 2018 Posado

Posado stop on southbound side. Restaurant and tiny shop selling drinks.

March 17th, 2018 Lavanderia - Yo lavo

Good laundrette. Only 5 washers so I had to wait for one on a Saturday as it was a bit busy.

March 17th, 2018 Maria's Casa

Camped in the garden for 5000pp. Lovely garden with places to sit outside in the sun. For camping, there is only one spot and it fit a small 3p tent Ok but wouldn’t fit a large tent! Rooms were 10,000PP and looked nice! Family who run it are really nice and Mauricio speaks good English.

March 13th, 2018 Northbound wild camp next to Church

There’s a huge white statue on your right hand side (travelling north). We asked the lady who lives next door and she said it was fine to camp. We pitched our tent just next to a closed snack bar. There are toilets with a small donation box. I think there’s even a plug socket in the church! Noise from road as you would expect.

March 10th, 2018 La Bicicleta

Little restaurant/cafe run by a road cyclist. He gave us a discount for being cyclists! Just next to the coped station, there’s a bike painted on the wall outside.

February 26th, 2018 Camping

Great site, 3000 Pesos per person. Clean toilets and showers. Picnic bench, Light and plug points per pitch. Lovely lady runs it.

February 25th, 2018 El montañés de Puesco

Lovely campsite and cafe just off the main road. Access to the river. Lovely owners.

February 19th, 2018 Las Torres del Simpson

Highly recommend this place. Good spots to camp, super friendly hosts and really nice communal area and kitchen. Wish we’d rested here instead of Coyhaique!

February 18th, 2018 Hospedaje Patagonia

Paid 30.000CHP for a double bedroom. Overpriced but we were stuck in the rain and didn’t fancy wild camping! Lady who runs it is lovely. Hot shower and homemade bread and jam in the afternoon and for breakfast.

February 9th, 2018 Conaf campground

Nice place. 5000 for 2 people, one night. Each pitch has a shelter. No WiFi or power. Hot water in the evening.

February 9th, 2018 A small cafe run by a friendly old couple

Great stop. Coffee and bread rolls and Home as jam - delicious! We were also offered a free freshly baked roll on our way out.

January 28th, 2018 Camping Lago Del Desierto

Kiosk with shop selling coffee, beer snacks and burgers. Shelter and picnic tables - good place to wait for the boat going north!

January 25th, 2018 Nakel Yenu

Super friendly owners. Very clean and nice shared kitchen and eating area. We paid 470CHP pp in a two-dorm. It was 400 pp in a six-dorm. Nice breakfast - rolls, jams, biscuits, juice, tea, coffee. Good wine shop opposite!
