A safe place to spend the night near Matehuala. Clean nice bathrooms with paper and soap. 381 pesos. Be sure to check out the lovely trail that starts at the far end of the gravel lot.

March 4th, 2020 el faro de peter rv park

Peter is super nice, there is hot water for showers. 300 pesos per night. Safe and friendly place to stay and he will drive you into town and back (we didn't ask about cost). Supplies available right outside gate.

March 4th, 2020 La Hacienda Gomez

Beautiful!!! We were the only ones there on a weekday. 50 pesos per person plus 50 to park for the day. Prices for everything except camping are noted on the sign. A really special place.

March 3rd, 2020 Casa Caracol

Friendly and nice place to stay. We parked next to the river and had access to the clean bathrooms and the common areas. Short walk to the sculpture garden. Magical tropical place. 100 pesos per person to use the facilities.

February 25th, 2020 Hotel San Ramon

We did not stay here but I wanted to make a correction. There is another great campground in San Miguel, but only for smaller rigs. It's a tennis court and RV park right in town but quiet.

February 16th, 2020 Public parking lot Free

Great place, recommended, exactly as described.

February 16th, 2020 San Miguel RV Park

Love this place. Walk to everything. Clean bathrooms with hot showers, friendly English-speaking owners. 380 pesos per night with weekly and monthly rates. Wifi. Smaller rigs only.

February 7th, 2020 Lago De Cam├ęcuaro

They do have camping here. No hookups or bathrooms. Nice place. Don't know cost. We didn't camp, just visited.

February 6th, 2020 Victoria RV Park / Hacienda El Retiro

Lovely, tranquil spot with clean bathrooms, showers, washing machine. Gate is not locked, so you can come and go as you please. 300 pesos per night, and I believe that includes hookups (which we did not need). 15 minutes from Mazamitla on an excellent paved road.

February 6th, 2020 Victoria RV Park

Does not appear to exist. We're staying at the other Victoria RV Park.

January 25th, 2020 Playa Amor

Not as nice as last year. Lots of garbage everywhere. Wifi not working. Bathrooms not clean. 200 pesos. Decided not to stay.

January 20th, 2020 Rancho Acosta (RV Park & B&B)

Not good for big rigs. Crowded when we were there. Reservations recommended, but I think you have to call.

February 10th, 2019 Balneario San Juan

Wonderful, friendly , beautiful place in the country with hot pools for soaking and swimming. Clean bathrooms are locked at night. Sites have shade structures with table and chairs. Some staff speak English. They will drive you to downtown Durango round trip only 250 pesos for up to 3 people, 35 minutes each way.

February 7th, 2019 Hostel Villa Colonial

There is only one parking space and it will probably be full if you don't have reservations. They did not seem amenable to letting us just pay for use of facilities without booking a room, but a double room is only 350. We got lucky and found a street parking space, but we have a small van. We paid 100 each to use the bath, kitchen, and Wi-Fi at friendly Hostal Cielito de Maria across the street.

February 5th, 2019 Morrill RV Park

Very hard to find and hard to access! Don't even try if you don't speak pretty good Spanish. Nothing larger than a camper can get in here. Clean bathrooms. Owner is friendly, Antonio. 180 pesos. Walk to town. Walk back is steep. No shade. Noisiest dogs in Mexico, bring earplugs.

January 27th, 2019 Trailer Park Las Americas

Good base to explore.Cholula and Puebla. 30 minute collective to Puebla or 130 pesos taxi ride. Power and water wink on and off. Showers were cold when we we there. Lots of dog poop, but they will clean it up if you ask. 250 pesos with or without power. Storage 100 pesos per night if you want to get a hotel in Puebla for a couple nights. Many stores and restaurants in easy walking distance.

January 25th, 2019 Ecopark Poso Colorado and Parapentitis

200 pesos. You can either park in front of the restaurant to have easy access to toilets, water, power. Or you can camp in grassy area across the street (not flat) or below the restaurant. (Lots of dog poop in grassy areas.) Owner Rafael is very nice. Restaurant only open on weekends, so it's very quiet the rest of the time. We were able to use the tables and chairs for cooking/eating/hanging out, which was very nice. Rafael also let us use the dishwashing sink out back.

January 23rd, 2019 Maya Bell Campground

Restaurant palapa is very nice and the rooms might be nice, but the camp area is funky. Not level, muddy and rutted. The pool area has tons of ants, and the pool does not look very clean. The restaurant food is good and reasonable prices. Good location close to.ruins.

January 22nd, 2019 Recreativo El Gordo y San Pancha & trailer park

The nicest pool park we've seen in Mexico. Beautiful and clean. Quiet during the week. Manager Carlos is super friendly and helpful. Camping is in shady parking area out front. Campers may use clean bathrooms. Sites have electric and water. Guard on duty all night. 250 pesos. If you don't want to leave your RV in La Venta museum parking lot, Carlos can arrange two-way transport if you don't want to take the local busses. We were quoted 250 round trip.

January 18th, 2019 Rancho San Nicolas

Perfect base for small rigs. Walking distance to the town or a 40 pesos taxi ride. Peaceful and friendly. 150 pesos per person includes electricity and hot showers.

January 15th, 2019 Cocoleoco | Conception Bamba

Good basic place with friendly staff and nice little restaurant.

January 14th, 2019 El Tacuate de Luz

Park under metal roof, walk a ahort distance to gorgeous beach with tables and chairs under palapas and a sea breeze. Free if you eat at restaurant but the food is not very good. Wi-Fi didn't work and no electricity for a fan. It was sweltering at night. Great location for doing a boat trip on the lake. Don't arrange the trip with the restaurant, only go from La Zapolita nearby. They will flag you down as you drive through and give you info. You can negotiate price based on length of trip and what you want to see.

January 12th, 2019 Casa Rayo De Sol

We love this place so much we stayed longer than planned. Right on a gorgeous beach in a tiny fishing town with friendly people. The Canadian owners are super nice. The place is clean and manicured. Every site has shade palapas. Washing machine available. Great restaurants nearby. No dogs, which we appreciate. Excellent deep tissue massage available for 200 pesos. Sites are 250 per nite, extra to run AC. Highly recommended.

January 11th, 2019 Our House

On ocean side of road (Google maps thinks it's on the other side of the road). Only space for small rigs. 20 dollars a night with no hookups. The sites are not on the beach. We opted to continue down the road.

January 10th, 2019 Playa del aguila

A bit steep for what you get at 150 pesos per person. Sites are actually in the parking lot, so you can't see the beach but can hear it. Pretty beach but steep for walking and not good for swimming. Road in is quite overgrown and would be difficult for tall or wide vehicles. Stay right at fork after you turn off the highway. Deluxe palapa common area. Clean, new shared bathroom with showers. No Wi-Fi, no water spigots. We got dish water from the bathroom.sinks. No dogs, which we appreciate.

January 9th, 2019 Rancho Buganvilias RV Park

This place is amazing, highly recommended!! Peaceful, beautiful view, one minute walk to 8 miles of empty beach. Clean restrooms, hot showers, many nice touches. Super friendly American owner. Nice breeze, no bugs. Very quiet, just the sound of the surf. Nice stars visible.

January 8th, 2019 Punta Perula RV Park & Bungalows

Lovely small and quiet town, lots of retired gringos doing pickleball and yoga. Campground on beach, big rigs, lots of Canadians from west and east. Clean, hot showers, nice common area. Great walking beach, clean and beautiful.

January 7th, 2019 Playa Amor

Nice place, a bit rundown but fine. Good walking beach and swimming. 200 pesos without electric. Friendly folks staying here.

January 2nd, 2019 Jardine Rinconada

Lovely spot on a river and lake. We're the only ones here. 300 pesos includes bathroom. No tables or hookups. Great birds.

December 29th, 2018 Totonaka RV Park

Beautiful new bathrooms, lovely hot showers, friendly English-speaking staff. $20 without hookups. Clean but kind of ugly but great location. Kind of a young retirees party scene.
