As described, pools are lovely staff friendly. Camping is next to palapa with bbq and hammocks. Price went up 240 per person. Non-negotiable.

April 15th, 2019 Hostal Paraíso Escondido

Highly recommend staying here. We paid 120Q for the night. The gates were locked so we went around to the restaurant below to inquire. They were a bit confused about how we found them since they exclusively use Airbnb for their rooms. The only room they had wasn’t ready but they cleaned it while we ate in their restaurant. Also highly recommended. The room was clean an comfortable, WiFi worked as it should, quiet spot in the city.

April 4th, 2019 Mana Kai

Fabulous place. Recently installed a kitchen facility with sink, gas stove, refrigerator and basic supplies. Electric strong enough for AC at sites should be complete in a couple of weeks. There is one hot shower but cold feels good here. Tons of birds to be seen parrots, parakeets, aracaris if you are into birdwatching.

March 21st, 2019 Balneario Ejidal Nayos & Princess

Lovely spot close to the lake. Bathrooms are dodgy. Shower requires that you hold a lever to dispense spittle of water. Music and frolicking families during the day. Quiet at night. 150 pesos for two of us in our truck.

March 14th, 2019 Cenote Hacienda San Antonio, Homun

Such a gem! The staff here are super friendly. The cenote is a dream. Especially on a hot day. The restaurant was fantastic. I highly recommend the poc-chuc. WiFi was average and consistent. Recommend.

March 11th, 2019 Restaurante MAR Y CRUZ

Closed when we arrived. Driveway to beach blocked as well.

March 8th, 2019 Cabañas Paraiso Tziscao

As described. Really friendly host. Beautiful spot on the water with a view of Guatemala! Pretty chilly but perfect for hiking. Caught a tuk tuk in town to the trailhead to 5 Lagos and walked back to camp.

March 8th, 2019 Pemex

Pemex in an area with few gas stations. Cash only.

March 1st, 2019 Rancho San Nicolas

Fantastic showers. Walking distance to town. Beautiful site. WiFi was useless. Dogs in the compound barked under our rooftop tent every night. 150 pp.

February 23rd, 2019 Overlander Beach Campsite “Don Taco”.

Another glowing review for Don Taco! Internet worked great. Plenty of sun for our solar panels and shade to hang out in. They provide a stove and sink for campers to use. Bathrooms sparkling clean! Beach was clean and the ocean was calm and crystal clear. Fantastic hospitality and a gem of a location.

January 26th, 2019 Vega del Sol Municipal Camping and River Zuzul

Super fun spot in a very tiny town. Cenote-type swimming hole is the star of the show complete with a really high diving platform! A bar across the river provides the soundtrack. 50 pesos for the two of us to camp. We were there on a Saturday night and the party shut down by 10pm. Peaceful night. Follow the blue Zuzul signs in town to get there. Easy-peasy.

January 22nd, 2019 La Estrella Polar

Sweet little place. Wi-Fi worked great. Bathrooms complete with the trifecta of hot water, toilet paper, and hand soap! Super clean. Didn’t see the sign telling us that palapas are not included in the price of camping until we were about to leave. Oops. We used one and they didn’t say anything. Restaurant was good. Easy walk to town on the beach. Super friendly folks there. Price is firm at $150 per person per night.

January 17th, 2019 Centro Ecoturistico Los Nichos

Camping, cabanas, restaurant, rustic bathrooms. Camping alongside a lovely orange orchard. Muted soundtrack of the standard dogs, roosters, jake-brakes. 100 pesos/person. Moments away from El Tajín.

January 2nd, 2019 Global Gas

Easy access propane filling station outside of the hustle and bustle of town. Could not thread with a standard US tank.

December 31st, 2018 Master Steering

Great immediate replacement of our power steering pump! So friendly! On New Years Eve no less!

December 13th, 2018 El Caracol

Lovely as described. $450 without hook up.

December 9th, 2018 Sayulita Trailer Park

Price is now $500 with or without hookup. Non-negotiable.

December 6th, 2018 Balandra

Heads up. We had our truck broken into while at the beach for the afternoon. Thinking there was someone posted on the hilltop as a lookout. The parking lot was super crowded so they weren’t too worried about witnesses. Cuidado.

August 7th, 2018 Old bridge

Coordinates and “pin” way off. Don’t try to follow. We did. On Silver Tip Mine RD. The old bridge is at the main highway and there is soso camping. This is an active busy mine road

August 7th, 2018 Hideaway off of a rest area

Great spot near river. Take the rest stop then follow gravel road at west end to hidden private camp area. Enjoy.

July 27th, 2018 Sustina Overlook

This highway is so full of places to stay you almost don’t need this app but this spot is special! Accessible by pretty much any vehicle except a big RV. Well off the highway on a bluff overlooking the Sustina River valley. Many places to park.

July 26th, 2018 Outside Cantwell right off Highway

No Trespassing sign in middle of pullout.

July 24th, 2018 Tri-valley gas

Shower price has risen to $5.00 for 7.5 minutes. About half the laundry machines are out of order but did not cause a problem. Thai food truck next door was a delight!

June 28th, 2018 Dirt road off of Dome Rd

Rocky opening on the side of the road at the top of the hill. Beautiful views. Minimal traffic (2 cars in 2days) private alternative to Midnight Dome. Couple of dilapidated diy fire rings. 2 bars of cell coverage.
