Ilka Check-Ins

Simple, central place in the small, historical town Wipperfürth for free. Directly at the river Wipper (will later becomes the Wupper) with electricity (1€ = 1,5 kWh), water (1€ = 60 L) and sewage. Here in the "Bergisches Land" there are many hiking and cycling paths between fields, lakes and forests. The area is rather unknown to international tourists but very nice and green.

How everyone wrote bevor, a very nice place in the "Sierras de Cordoba" :-) . During our quarantine in La Rioja we talked to Walter on phone and he was so nice to welcome us. From here we actually wanted to fly to Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, because of Covid-19, all public transports have been blocked :-( , so we are still here :-) . The new leveled parking spaces for Overlander and the fireplace are ready and Walter is looking forward to welcome you :-) . You can also park your vehicles here if you want to fly home!

Nice Bodega with very good organic wines and meals. Wine testing with four red and four white wines for 300/pers. Very good picadas and bread are added. Prices for a bottle wine is 190 for the white ones and between 250 and 290 for the red ones. We like them all ☺!

Good, small Restaurant. The food is fresh made and verry good for reasonable prices. For example Milanesa de carne Napolitana with crispy chips for 420 pesos.

How everyone described. An oasis in a dessert ;-) and now with wifi!

Hotel with rooms, apartments and cabins. From 45.000 CLP. Wifi, breakfast, dinner, hot tub and pool for guests.
Places for motorhomes 6.000 CLP . There is a shower and a toilette for peoples with motorhomes.

It has not a lot of space for camper but we stayed in low season, with our 7,50 m long truck in the yard :-) and it was place for another smaler camper. Showers are not hot but o.k., even for this time of year. The owner was very friendly and like to talk, even if your spanish is not very good :-) .

Today we paid 550 ARG for 10k! They fill only empty bottles and opened our bevor filling it again. Quite expensive, in Trelew we paid only 220 ARG but five month ago. We have a german bottle with adapter for US.

In this street you find the ferry waiting Line for cars and motorhomes. From Monday to Saturday are six dates for transport but sunday only three!!! See pictures for timetable and prices.

Hier lohnt sich ein Stopp auf alle Fälle:
Nach der Anmeldung im "Brot & Cafe" und ausgezeichnetem Kuchen ;-) wurden wir von Caro in Empfang genommen. Caro und Walter sind super freundlich, interessiert und hifsbereit. Auch sie reisen gerne entweder mit dem Motorrad oder Wohnmobil.
Die Geschichte dieser fünf Siedlungen mit seinen Donauschwaben ist sehr beeindruckend. Strom, Wasser, Entsorgung und sehr gutes Wifi ist vorhanden.

This place is definitely worth a stop:
After we arrived in the "Brot & Cafe" where we had excellent cake ;-) and asked for this place, we were welcomed by Caro. Caro and Walter are super friendly, interested and helpful. They like to travel by motorbike or camper, too.
The history of these five villages with German -born inhabitants, called "Donauschwaben" is impressive. Electricity, water, disposal and very good Wifi is available.

The lunch buffet is very good and the prices are fair, too.

It`s more a beer garden with very, very good Food. They have belgian beer, too. Not only the fries are handmade and greate also the other dishes are super. We went to this place three times, tried different dishes and each was good. Even the owner are very friendly.

How everyones wrote, Gustavo is a very nice guy :-) . It cost 30,000 Guarani / person without pool and 50,000 / person with pool but you can bargain. We paid 40,000 / person with pool and at the weekend we used the steam bath.

At the moment there are no cabanas but a restaurant with nice view and good food. We went from Tarija and slept one night here, without costs after we had dinner. The night was quiet and safe. Very nice owner.

Workshop for Mercedes Trucks and Busses. Here since 2015! Scania ist the neighbour. At the moment we are waiting for the mechanic, so we don't know how the worh is but we have good experience with Divemotor in Arequipa.
It make no sense to go to this place, they have no steel to make anything of parts. If they need parts they have to go to Cusco. The emploees don't work the half day, so they need a lot of time to fix something. We needed two new supports for our aircylinder, the special parts wer made in Cusco and should cost 100 US $!!! It was much too much and they needed two days for the whole work. They have no plan, so if they say they help you, for example, in two houres you should not believe it!!!

The gas station didn't allow us to stay, so we found this place. It' s ok for a night and quiet.

One of the nicest places in Peru. It`s a very nice bay with inca ruins on the left side and pre inca ruins at the right side. Also the landscape is spectacular. You can walk the whole day. The place is very quiet. We loved the place and paid 20 Soles for two person por night with hot showers.

Avoid this place!!!
We arrived late and the manager told us we have to pay 10 per person. We thought he means 10 Soles (of course, we are in Peru!) but at the next morning he said 10 US$ p.p. At least we paid 60 Soles for one night parking with a dirty restroom an cold water. In the morning he told us "in ten minute the water is hot" but it wasn`t. When we discussed about the price he told me charging one batterie cost 5 US$ and Water is expensive and so one ... I told him we never paid more than 40 Soles in Peru and that we don`t know how other places work if anything is so expensiv. How ever, avoid this place!!!

Of course, it is expensive for Peru and what you get, but the position is good. It is not far to the town center and the Restaurant "La Buona Pizza" is only few blocks away. They have nearly everything, not only pizza. The food is greate and the prices are fair. I tried to check in this place here but it didn't work :-(. It's by S 9.517581 / W 77.530086.

8$ / Pers. is much to expensiv for what you get! The restrooms are not clean, the showers had better times and the sit of the women toilett is broken!

The pool and the area around is nice. Wifi works good, too. Only the showers are run down but the water is clear and cold! It's noisy, too, because of the street but we stayed to nights. 12.000 pp/n.

How everyone told, it is a nice place! But if you are there if its rain you should know that the water is bright to dark brown, because they are getting their water from a lake and if it's rains it brings a lot of dirt. It looks like they use no filter.

This restaurant is closed since 9 january 2017. The owner has a new restaurant near by Tunja. You find it in ioverlander.

Nice place to stay, we liked it. The staff is very friendly, the pool is nice and clean. A bus to San Gil starts directly at the street, 200 m from the entrance. Of course, the trafic is noisy early at the morning and later in the evening. There are also some Cabanas for rent. Camping 16000 per person per night.
