October 22nd, 2016 Domingues-Escalante Forest

Domingues-Escalante Forest. Access marked on Hwy 141 on the left. Up on the Mesa, a few flat campsites with fire rings near the top. Gravel road in good condition, good for car and suv's, just watch for atv's and pickup trucks tumbling down as if it were Paris-Dakar. No great view but you're in a pine and tuya forest.

October 21st, 2016 Turnout before Needles overlook

Quiet and secluded place on a trail 2.2 km on the left of the road to Needles.Dispersed camping, no amenities. High on the plateau, can be very cold at night.

October 21st, 2016 Kokopelli Trail

The Kokopelli trail is marked, turnoff from hwy 128 north of Moab toward I-70 past the 30-mile no-camping area. 4x4 only, trailhead is relatively smooth at first, then very rough. You can camp anywhere. This area is quite different from the Moab-Arches area, more desert-like, no shade, lots of antelope, nevertheless spectacular. Free dispersed camping, no service. Nobody around.

October 20th, 2016 Crystal Geyser

Awesome spot. We were the only campers there. A few people drove to check the geyser but left right away, it only comes off every 12 to 24 hours or more. Indeed it cames off during the night when we were there.

October 20th, 2016 Gemini Bridges

Grand spot! This established free BLM campground has 5 sites clustered together at the bottom of a really beautiful red rock canyon, but there is a lot of privacy and you can't really see the other campers, beside most of the time there is nobody around. The campsites are flat with a rock fire ring. No facilities, pack your trash out and have portable toilet The trail from HWY 191 is not for the faint of heart and will require a high clearance vehicle and good off-road experience. My wife cursed at me throughout the entire ascent, our cat was terrified, I kept my calm but I must admit I had sweaty palms. Eventually the trail becomes manageable at the bottom of the canyon. It is quite an experience. Gemini Bridges are a few miles away and is worth the drive along good 4x4 roads. We found out once we reached Gemini Bridges that there is a much easier dirt road that reaches HWY 313.

August 18th, 2016 Next to Mirror

Good spot for the night, with fire pits and tables. Nothing else available within a hundred kms.

January 21st, 2016 Peek a boo Trail head

Peekaboo trail staging/trailhead area. Great for a few night. Close to Kanab and highway, you can camp in the dirt parking lot or put a tent further in. pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables.

July 1st, 2015 Free Recreation Site , Wait a bit Creek

Great spot to spend a few days. Leveled ground perfect for tents or vans.

June 29th, 2015 Tangier Forest Service Road

A few flat spots not far from the main highway. Easy access with a van or car, and good enough for tents. No service, no fire rings, water available from the creek. Lots of bears in the area so be very careful.

June 3rd, 2015 Jones Lake Campground

Fantastic location, steep road that requires a vehicle with good clearance but not necessarily 4 WD.

January 3rd, 2015 Epic place above Wapta Falls!

Perfect spot as described.
