August 3rd, 2018 picnic and camp spot

As described a typical Mexican rest area with a newly painted shrine. This shrine even has a hole for donations. the picnic tables are also new and made out of concrete so they will last. a little bit up the hill you find two WC with real toilets and a basin with water to flush.
plenty of room to park away from the road.

January 18th, 2018 Mirador

2 hours from the coast a nice spot to stop for the night, a cold beer and some conversation with the owner. Maricela
her husband works in the USA and she is happy to host visitors for lunch, dinner or
breakfast. Fresh bread is baked daily. From this point it goes only down hill to the coast and this is a cool spot to spend the night.

as indicated, nice spot, several other travelers and local gringo's showed up.
when every visitor picks up some of the rubbish it maybe will be cleaner.

camping marina and restaurant right of the panamericana. the camping marina is open 7 days a week. the restaurant is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

FYI when driving towards the camping use the "libre" not the "toll " road because the camping is not accessible from the toll road although it is right beside the toll road. nice spot for relaxing a few days. will report after a few days.

November 24th, 2016 Balneario San Juan

We paid 300 pesos for water,electric hook up and unlimited swimming in the hotsprings. Wifi available near the office.
Clean bathrooms and showers.
Because of all the available water we decided to wash the salt and grime from the Baja trip and the ferry ride.

We asked permission to stay on the parking lot overlooking the antelope valley. A nice place to go hiking. Very friendly people. They did warn that a sheriff may swing by to check on you and you should tell him that you permission vto overnight stay and that you want to hike in the morning.

the trail is a bit rough but hard rock.

August 16th, 2016 Cape Croker Light House.

an old light house on a Cape. One day the water on the pebble beach was flat like a mirror the next day we had real waves and strong gusty winds. A nice spot to take a good rest.

August 14th, 2016 Stoney mountain conservation area and trail

Very nice little park maintained by the local cross country ski group.
The main parking area is in the forest, the trail head on consession #7 road has some parking right over the beach. plenty of fire wood on the beach.
T Mobil connection.

August 7th, 2016 Luther bird sanctuary

We took the dead end road beside the bird sanctuary and parked in a nice field with many flowers and many more mosquitos. very quiet and level. We had Internet with T mobile.

a pick nick park on the 172 and overlooking the Sanguenay river / fjord.
nice grassy fields and tables.

August 1st, 2016 Tadoussac

Still a nice location overlooking the St Lawrence river and all the tour boats looking for whales.
A little crowded with other campers but a good spot.

Just North of the town you find beach access between a cottage community and the forest.
ideal for a rest and long walks on the beach and or in the forest.
smaller vehicles may enter the forest on the atv tracks.

July 27th, 2016 Just north of Baie Comeau Q.

gravel parking on the coast, several spots right on the beach, a waterfall and plenty berries to harvest along the road.

July 22nd, 2016 Pins river

Just of rt 500 between Happy Valley and Churchill Falls a nice spot right on a fast streaming river.
many mosquitos and flies. several fire pits and a memorial in the bush.

July 21st, 2016 Crooks lake

Maintenance post along the Labrador 510. It is flat and you can drive away from the road. plenty of flies but free fast Internet

July 20th, 2016 Point Amour Lighthouse

Perfect place to camp. We saw a humpback breaching 20 times right in front of us.
The tour of the light is very informative, just avoid it when a tour bus comes. many more nice spots right along the shore.

July 15th, 2016 Goose cove

with a perfect view on the fishing village of Goose cove and a view over the Hare bay where you can enjoy ice bergs and whales.

July 10th, 2016 St John's NL

North of St John's. keep right on route 20 past Pouch Cove. many side roads with very relaxed camping.
No facilities.

July 2nd, 2016 Quirpon NL

One the old Quirpon dock is it nice camping. It is also the departure point for one of the best zodiac tours to see the icebergs and whales in new Foundland.

June 25th, 2016 sand point

half way between Guyborough and Mulgrave NS on rd 344 take a right on Sand point beach rd. you can park directly on the beach under the large sign

very quiet and with large ocean steamers passing by, there is plenty to see. look for waterplants that are attached to the pebbles, you can rescue them by trowing them back in the water before they dried up.

June 20th, 2016 Halifax Cow Bay

The enclosed map shows the rainbow park and the dyke road outside the park where it is very good camping on the pebble beach
