January 15th, 2019 Luciano's Chácara

We were the first guests in Luciano's property. It is a beautiful house in a big green garden. They are intellectual and very friendly. You can park your rig in the garden near the gate. The property is located at the dead end of the street so it is very quiet. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. Parking spot is pretty small. One Sprinter and one smaller vehicle can fit as level. There is a clean swimming pool. Luciano and his daughter can speak little English. They are planning to start traveling in few years. There are two bathrooms with shower facing to pool so you don't need to enter the house for facilities. Bathrooms are clean, well designed with toilet paper and seats. There is a tap with potable water just at parking spot. Electric plug is on site. We loved this spot and the family. He charged 50 Reales for a camper with two of us and our dog. They have no dogs and the gate is safe so our dog was very happy on the grass.

January 14th, 2019 Our home is your home!

They are great people, very polite but we could not stay because they have 11 (eleven) dogs and we have an old lady (friendly). We didn't want to bother them with dog problems. It is better to call them in advance if you have a dog.

January 14th, 2019 Ipiranga 24h

Big gas station with restaurant. This station located on the right side of the highway when you drive to Sao Paulo from Iguazú. Free hot showers, clean toilets. It is open 24 hours and safe. We parked under the trees (shade for half of our van) at the back side and it is very far from the road so very quiet at night. Chickens, cows around.

January 5th, 2019 Camping Chapecoense

Big, safe camping with a restaurant. Camping is near the street but it is big enough to park far from the street. Flat grassy area, shade spots with trees. There are spots with a roof for tents. Clean bathrooms with seats (toilets are small as usual in Latin America), hot showers (three for men and three for women), potable water. Sinks for washing. No wifi, no dump station. Entrance gate has no height restriction. Good camping for big rigs and tents also. Pet friendly. We paid 40R PP (without electric) in extremely high season. The carparks (spots on IO) wants 70R for a night only. A supermarket nearby but you can walk to center and Walmart (named BIG in Brazil) in 20 minutes. We stayed three nights with our Sprinter

December 30th, 2018 Scout Camp

This campground is for tents only. You can park in front of the gate and use the facilities and access to the beach. It is 38 Reales pp even if you stay in parking. We parked in carpark and didn't use the facilities so it was free.

December 21st, 2018 Cabanas Estrela do mar

The other campground was closed. This is a big grassy courtyard surrounded by cabanas and sheltered spots with barbecues. Shade spots under the trees for mid size rigs and tents. Two hot showers (electric suicide), two men's and two women's toilets, one outdoor shower, sinks and potable water taps on site. Pretty clean. Entrance is big enough for any size of rigs. We payed 20 reales per person, 40 for two and a Sprinter camper. Shops for food around. Hosts are a good couple keeping the distance comfortable for guests.

December 16th, 2018 Potable water

The tap at this spot is broken so that you have to drive little bit more to playground with WiFi spot on ioverlander. There is a small tap at the corner of playground with drinking water. Free.

Maipú 3557. You can get blood test results for SENASA or any test for your pet here.

November 18th, 2018 Autocamping Dunamar

Beautiful and huge campground. Forest with birds, fruit trees. Many spots under the trees and green. Owners are lovely. They are three generations and Grand parents are still working. It was not crowded in the end of November. There are many toilet buildings including washing sinks. Very clean. Most of the toilets are old east style pit toilets with flushing but there are modern ones too. Easy access to the beach. We paid (two persons, one dog and a camper) 500 pesos for one night and 900 for two nights.

November 16th, 2018 Pond in the Park

We stayed near the pond in the park for one night. It is very comfortable, wind protected and quiet. Birds, ducks and some frogs.
This park has no amenities so nobody at night. There are public restrooms just out of the gate but it was closed. There is a tunnel under the dunes for easy access to beach.

October 30th, 2018 Bosque Petrificado free

DOG PROCESS: Officially no animals in NP but you can keep your dog in the van, park in front of the museum and hike in the park is possible. It is a walk in park so it is easy to visit with your dog. Just keep and hide in the van.

October 14th, 2018 Beach at Fachinal

One of the best spots in Patagonia. Huge grass area or clean beach for tents and every size of overland vehicles. No need for 4x4 if you drive little faster on sandy part of the road, it is only few meters and not very soft. One good spot covered by trees (before the meteorology station) has very good wind protection for tents. Many wild rabbits around. Amazing view. You will find a huge grass area and some trees if you walk fifty metres to West from meteorology station.

October 12th, 2018 Lago Elizalde

Nice spot. Spectacular view. Two or three Sprinter size vans can fit easily. Pretty level. The road is not very steep, any type of car can do it.

October 3rd, 2018 Puerto Montt malecon

We parked at this spot for overnight and woke up at 03.00 am because somebody was trying to enter to our van. We knocked the walls and they went but they came back in five minutes and they shaked the van and stubbed our rear left tire two times. We opened the door slowly and they escaped. We moved to Copec with stubbed tire and slept there until sunrise. No police patrolling in this town and many junkies around all night.

September 24th, 2018 Camping Municipal Malargüe

Very nice campground. Very clean, well maintained. The price is 150 for two of us and the van. Animals are not allowed officially and signposted but they accepted our old mid size dog after a short chat.

September 17th, 2018 central plaza

The police came and said parking is not allowed in the square. He said we can park on other streets, we moved. We have a Sprinter 144 van.

September 14th, 2018 Facultad De Ciencias Agrarias Y Veterinarias

Very well equipped animal hospital with all branches in Salta Catholic University. The prices are reasonable. Very friendly and professional doctors, nurses and students. Many doctors and students speak English (account department too). You can pay by credit card. You can park every size of rigs in huge garden just in front of the hospital. Big trees make shade. Some doctors work from 08.00 to 12.00 so it is better to go before noon.

September 12th, 2018 Chango Más supermarket (Walmart)

No height restriction if you don't park under the roofs.

September 8th, 2018 Football Field

Good spot. Enter to small rough road just opposite to restaurant. There are some loom (Adobe) houses and a football field. A family with tens of llamas live in a house but they are far and don't disturb you. It is totally hidden from the road and very quiet at night. I think this spot is better then the parking lot of restaurant. Good for any size of rigs and tents.

September 4th, 2018 Tambillo little Wood

We parked few hundred meters to desert behind this spot and two police with an UTV visited us at late afternoon. They said this are is not very safe because of narcotics and theft. We moved.

July 26th, 2018 Maranura square

We didn't stay here, just had a breakfast but it looks like a good overnight spot. Restrooms with running water. Police station and small local market nearby. Calm and friendly village. Big square and park.

July 26th, 2018 Wild camping next to the river

Don't try with a motorhome!!! It is steep, narrow and wet road.

July 25th, 2018 Waterfall

Good campspot for vehicles or tents. Entrance is at Kiteni side of the bridge. Turn to River and cross under the bridge (hight under the bridge is app. 3.5 metres). There is a level spot just before the beautiful waterfall. There is a small wooden bridge at waterfall to see it better. This spot is accessible by 2wd or bikes. The level area is large enough for 2 Sprinter size vehicles. You are not far from the bridge but the vehicles can not see you. Access to river by foot. Many butterflies and lights by bugs at night. Only one very polite and friendly local crossed by a cross motorbike at 7PM. No noise from the road because of the waterfall and river. We were safe and comfortable with table and chairs. Shower in waterfall. Sprinter 4x4.

July 24th, 2018 Extremely slick when wet

We drive a Sprinter and did this road under rain (it rained all the night and day until noon), it was muddy but hard rocky surface under mud . I checked with hard panic brake downhill and we stopped in a second. We met many locals riding motorcycles and tuk tuks with standart road tires at this part of the road. Yes it is slippery and muddy but not dangerous as we see. It is wide and not so steep.

July 24th, 2018 Road from Kiteni

We did this road under rain so it was wet. We have Sprinter 4x4 but any 4x2 overland vehicle with high ground clearance and AT tires can easily do this route (mostly paved). It is very wise (two lanes mostly) in Peru standarts. Some gas stations selling S50 diesel and some restaurants on the route. Nice view, nice drive.

July 24th, 2018 At the river

This spot is permanently closed for cars Motorcycle or bycle only. There is a permanent sign at the entrance of track so no entrance for cars.

July 23rd, 2018 Las Totoritas Recreo Campestre

This is a nice spot. Clean, grass area with trees and picnic tables. Some tables are under a roof so you can use even it rains. Shower is hot, flush toilets are clean. There is an outdoor sink for washing. Potable water and tap to fill up. We asked the price for one night and they said we are their guests. We had lunch in restaurant. The prices are inexpensive (6 soles for a big bottle of beer, 16 soles a full dish). The owners (a couple) has a huge garden connected to camp area. They are very polite and friendly. The lady brought tea and cookies to our van in the evening. It was quiet at night. Road traffic starts at 7 but not very noisy. We recommend this spot for bikers also.

July 18th, 2018 Camping "La Casa de los Titiriteros"

Good spot. We stayed two nights. Many campers or big trucks can fit in grass area. It is level and has some shade from trees. We bought fresh milk from neighbors. The electric shower was hot. There is a nice balcony in front of the kitchen. Wifi is slow and near the building only. Clean restrooms with paper and seats. Very friendly owner and stuff. Water is potable.

July 11th, 2018 Lagune Antacocha

We stayed 4 nights here. Very quiet and beautiful. Good for dogs also. The road is doable with any 2wd. We camped over the lake. Continue up from the South side of the lake and turn right to flat spot just behind the rocky hill (off road but easy). You can watch the climbers, lake and beautiful Cordillera Blanca. Sprinter 4x4.
