April 10th, 2020 Camping!

Road a bit muddy with spring melt out. Did ok in 2WD sprinter with at tires. Campground itself is in a field. The ground is super soft, we didn’t even try to take an actual spot. Stayed at the end of the road blocking the gate. Verizon to receive texts but nothing else. Pit toilets closed due to covid-19. Spots beyond this closed until the road fully melts out.

April 9th, 2020 Forest service dispersed camping

Gate closed and locked until 4/30.......

April 9th, 2020 Appalachian Trail Parking area

Very busy with people fishing. Cleared out at dark and had the place to ourselves for the night. Fisherman started showing up around 6am. No issues, spotty Verizon service.

Nice spot on the stream. 4 or 5 separate spots.

Water spigot when you come in the road on the right near the pit toilet. Assume it’s potable; however we bleached just to be safe!

4 or 5 informal campsites along the lake. Some people fishing; no one bothered us. 3 day limit, says you need conservation pass/fishing or hunting license, but we had neither. No facilities. Nice and quiet. 1 to 3 bars of Verizon LTE.

February 2nd, 2020 Farmers Korner Wastewater Treatment Facility

Free potable water. Spigot on side of building. Was on in February when we were here. Very slow to fill!

February 2nd, 2020 San Luis Lake SWA

Wide open; level sites. Electric at some sites, picnic tables and fire fit. Only a few other campers here in February. Campground host appeared to be on duty, but didn’t check in with us. Road didn’t appear to be plowed, but not enough snow to be an issue.

January 11th, 2020 Kitchen Creek stopover

Spent two nights here without issue. Some traffic but nice and quiet. Recommend high clearance.

January 9th, 2020 El Valle RV Park

Road in here was very rough, we were ok in our 2WD but definitely need high clearance or a car you don’t care about. $20 USD with no hookups. Bathroom and shower were clean, but shower was Luke warm at best. Lots of construction and vehicle noise throughout day/night. Camp spots are carved level out of a pretty good side hill; was hard to get in the spots with my sprinter van, not sure how you would do it with a trailer. Felt safe, seemed clean. Smelled burning trash throughout the evening and morning.

January 9th, 2020 Sycuan Casino

Spoke with security and they said they do not allow overnight RV parking anymore

Delicious fish tacos! 20 pesos per taco. Also had a shrimp quesadilla, but tacos were better

Had 8 fish tacos and 2 cokes all for $222 mex. great tacos couldn’t recommend enough!

January 2nd, 2020 Playa Ligui

Arrived around 1400, a few cars until dark. One came and went 3 times. Another came around 1600 then returned from 1900-2000, parked right in front of our van and played loud music until it left. A group of people with a boat arrived around 0630, we left. Got a weird/sketchy feeling the whole time but we were fine.
