May 3rd, 2020 Thumb Butte Rd NF Campsites

We scored a spot with a stellar view of the surrounding valley. No amenities, but good cell service on ATT.

April 23rd, 2020 525 Boondocking site

100+ boondocking sites down this FS road. Stayed at a different spot every night for four nights and loved it. The road is in pretty good condition and we went at least seven miles off the highway in our 2WD van. The spots definitely get bigger as you go back, but the whole road is crowded on the weekends. Be mindful there are rattlesnakes in the area.

April 20th, 2020 Speedway Fuel RV dump station

Great free dump. Two spots and very straight forward.

April 16th, 2020 public land

We spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed ourselves, however there are a few pros and cons.

Pros: Beautiful view of Superstition Mountains, established fire pits, mostly private, close to town, good cell service on ATT, free. We drove passed the wash and took the first large spot on the right.

Cons: There are obviously people who have been staying here a looong long time. The people who occupy the first few spots once you turn off the highway have filled them with garbage, junk cars, and RVs. We also heard two loud domestic disputes between other campers/residents. We still felt safe and would stay again.

April 15th, 2020 Black Hills Rockhound Area (BLM)

Spent two nights here. Stunning views, easy to get to, very private, and fun to go hunt for fire agets. Cell service with ATT has been in and out. No amenities, but it's free and there is one garbage can.

April 13th, 2020 Reddington Pass BLM

Huge, fairly level spot with sweeping mountain views. Good for one big rig or 2-3 vans. Unfortunately this spot is trashed with glass, garbage, and shotgun shells. The road in was pretty rough in our 2WD Sprinter so we decided to spend one night only. There is a fire ring, but very windy and unable to use it. No amenities and no cell service on ATT.

April 11th, 2020 Cieneguita BLM Land

Lovely spot with beautiful views of mountains and surround ranch land. Road in was a breeze and the spots are spacious. There was at least 10 other campers here over the weekend, but we felt like we had a lot of privacy. No amenities aside from fire rings and good cell service on ATT. Cows walked through our spot most days.

April 10th, 2020 Table Top BLM

Easily accessed off Highway 8 and down a dirt road. Road is in good condition so no need for 4WD or high clearance. This is a very private spot and we only saw two other campers closer to the highway. We decided to only stay one night after we saw the sign that read "illegal immigration and drug smuggling are common in this area." No amenities, no cell service, but this spot did have a fire ring.

April 8th, 2020 State Trailer RV & Outdoor Supply

Free dump station behind the store. The water says "not for culinary use" so we went to a nearby water kiosk instead.

April 3rd, 2020 Pilot Station

Free potable water. On 4/3/20 the dump station was not in service.

April 3rd, 2020 Lake Pleasant BLM

Huge BLM near Lake Pleasant Recreation Area. $7 to get into the actual Lake Pleasant Park, but camping on the BLM is free. This area could easily fit 100+ rigs, but during our weeklong stay it was fairly quiet and we couldn't see anyone else from our camp spot. This is a popular ATV area so prepare for some noise. There are also wild burro who have hung around our camp the entire time. No facilities, but there are lots of fire rings and good cell service on ATT.

April 2nd, 2020 Antelope Creek BLM

Three individual camp spots perched on top of a hill with amazing view of surrounding mountains. Established firepits at each site. Right next to Antelope Creek Rd, but quiet all night. Gravel road to the spot is in good condition (no high clearance or 4WD needed). Here tonight with two vans and a big rig. No amenities, but good cell service with ATT.

April 2nd, 2020 Marshall Lake Dispersed Camping

4/2/2020: There is a gate blocking the road. National forest website says nothing about this area being closed due to Covid-19.

4/27/2020: Dispersed camping is now open. Lots of people, but easy to find a private spot if you go past the lake.

April 1st, 2020 Page Water & Dump for free

Great FREE water, trash, and dump station in Page. These are no-frost taps so you need to wait a little while before the water starts flowing as the reservoir is buried deep in the ground so they can be accessible during the winter.

April 1st, 2020 BLM by South Rim

Nice free spot right outside of the south rim national park entrance. Easy access in a 2WD van, but the road gets rougher the further back you go. FYI: As of 4/1/20 they have closed any access to Grand Canyon NP due to Covid-19. We showed up an hour after they put up the barricades.

March 29th, 2020 Camp Fishlake National Forest

Very secluded location not to far off the highway. Fire pits, free, and good cell reception. Beautiful view of the mountains. Stayed two nights and would love to have stayed longer. Only one other traveler showed up on our second night.

March 28th, 2020 Point of the Mountain

ATTN: As of 3/28/20 the flight park's website says it will only be open to Utah County residents due to Covid-19. We had no idea and arrived 3/28.There was no sign in the parking lot mentioning this. No one questioned us so we still stayed and left early. We saw other rigs with out-of-state plates so I don't know when/if/how they will start enforcing it.

Other than that it was a nice place to stay the night with beautiful views, bathrooms, and free wifi.

March 27th, 2020 Meadow

Beautiful spot with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The hot springs are more warm than hot, but great for families with small kids. Free, but there are donation boxes and someone comes by to clean the grounds.

March 25th, 2020 Poverty Flats

Beautiful, free BLM land just outside Valley of Fire State Park. Probably well over 100 spots to choose from. Good cell signal with ATT. Road in is a bit bumpy, but easily doable without 4WD.

March 24th, 2020 Seven Magic Mountains

Large dirt parking lot for the Seven Magic Mountains art installation. Some loud highway noise, but an easy spot for a night's rest. Garbage cans on site and good cell service. No "No Overnight Parking" signs.

March 22nd, 2020 Coronado National Forest

One of our favorite camping spots so far. Road in is washboard, but just go slow. Very quiet, creekside gravel spots. Several fire rings and plenty of firewood. Minimal bugs and beautiful view of the mountains. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. No amenities and no cell service on ATT.

March 21st, 2020 Public parking in Bisbee

Stayed one night while visiting the super cute town of Bisbee. One other van looked to be staying here. Right in the middle of town and a local store owner told us it was OK, so we felt safe. Many of the spots are not level as everything in Bisbee is on a hill.

March 16th, 2020 Free Sani dump, potable water, and propane

Free dump station with potable water. They also have 20 gallon propane canisters for sale in the gas station.

March 16th, 2020 Showers at Edith Ball Rec Center

When truck stops are charging $12 for a shower, this pool is where it's at. $2 per person to swim and if you have kids they have a fun outdoor area. Great place for a little fun and a shower!

March 13th, 2020 Agua Blanca Ranch BLM

I would not consider this a "big" gravel lot like the original post described. However small, we had a pleasant night sleep with three other small RV/vans. Gorgeous views of the mountains and sunset.

March 12th, 2020 BLM next to VFW

Fine for a one night stay on your way to something else. Loud due to it's proximity to the highway, train tracks, and military base. No amenities, not even a trash can. We stayed here due to flash flooding in the surrounding BLM spots.

March 11th, 2020 Fortuna Pond, BLM

OK place to stay for one night. Kind of trashy with lots of garbage and toilet paper in the bushes. I would NOT recommend staying here if rain is in the forecast and you don't have 4WD. The rain today washed out three main exit roads. Coincidentally we had rented a 4WD truck for the day so we were able to travel the backcountry roads to find a safe way to get our 2WD van out.

March 9th, 2020 Fisher's Landing

$5 per person for dry camping. Dry camping is a little ways from the lake, in a gravel parking lot, but they do have a bar with live music, grill, convenience store, and post office. Cash only at the restaurant, but can pay for your camping by card. Drinking water for sale at $0.25 a gallon. Decent spot for one night, but we were the youngest people here by at least 40 years. Lake seems to be more popular with motorized boats.

March 7th, 2020 Mittry Lake BLM

Spent two nights here. Good for free BLM camping, but a lot of bugs and even more entitled snow birds. The lake is very popular with boating on the weekend. Pit toilet and large dumpsters on site.

March 6th, 2020 Mexicali West

AVOID THE FAR RIGHT LANE! You will be cut off by no less than 50 motorcycles and spend at least another hour waiting in line.
