January 3rd, 2019 Parabrisa - Ushuaia

Very nice guys. Made a new windscreen for our Defender. Took out the old one, made and fitted the new one all in one hour. 3000 ArgPesos.

December 27th, 2018 Chilean Immigration and Customs – Paso Río Don Guillermo

Easiest crossing into Chile so far(it's the 4th time by now.) Border open from 08:00 - 22:00 h. Everything super fast and easy, I think the SAG guy didn't feel like working, just had a quick look through the window.

December 22nd, 2018 Estancia La Angostura

So now they want ARG$400 per person!! Such a rip off, this place is ready not worthed that kind of money.
Clearly we didn't stay.

December 21st, 2018 Puma gas station

Not joking, they make a really good Bife de chorizo here! Worthed to stop for lunch here. Great wifi.

December 16th, 2018 Ferry Port For Chiloe

Paid 12600 for a Landrover Defender. As others have said just drive on the ferry and someone will come to your car for you to pay.

December 3rd, 2018 GAAP Canadian Vet

What a lovely vet! We read on Google that she's Canadian so we came here to finally talk to a vet in English because our dog we picked up in Ecuador has so many issues and so much got lost in translation that we felt the need to talk to someone properly.

She took her time, listened to everything with patience and takes great care of our fluffy fella.

November 25th, 2018 Hostal del Turista

Little Hotel, very clean, very friendly. We arrived late with our hurt dog from the vet and they gave us a bigger room so our pup would have enough space to sleep. They even let us use the kitchen to make dinner. There is parking and breakfast included. The street is quite loud, but everything else is very nice, beds comfy, Good WiFi, fair price ~40 US$

November 24th, 2018 Camping Marina Colbún

So it turns out those two dogs aren't nice after all. They both attacked ours at the same time.
Had to go to the vet, obvs didn't stay camping.

November 23rd, 2018 SENASA

You also get the Senasa certificate here.

November 10th, 2018 Tartufo - Chocolate artesanal de Mendoza

Amazing, fancy chocolate store that also sells wines and oils and amazing icecream

November 8th, 2018 Lake Wild Camp

There are plenty of possible camp sites around the lake. On this side there is some protection from the wind and a lot less trash. No Wi-Fi nor Claro reception. No 4x4 needed, but probably not possible to reach with big rig.
Absolutely no fishing allowed, the police came to check, so I really wouldn't do it.

October 18th, 2018 SAG Agricultural Office

So the hours are:
Mon-Fri: 09-12:00h get certificate same day
Mon-Thu: 12-14:00h next day
Friday: 12-13:00h
Would advise to get here at least 2 days before you want to leave in case they have problems with your papers. It's Chile, they are super thorough. On top of the Health certificate they want an official rabies vaccine certificate, the normal little booklet with all the vaccines isn't enough. Worst case your dog has to get the vaccine again just to get that little paper.

October 9th, 2018 Carwash

Wanted 25000 to wash just the chassis. We left immediately.

October 3rd, 2018 Border aduana migracion Bolivia

Arrived at 12:20 but Migración was already closed, so we started to watch a movie when for some reason they opened again at 13:30. He wanted 15 BS pp so we just told him we didn't have any bolivianos left, no problem, got our exit stamps. Altogether took 5 mins apart from the hour long wait...

September 16th, 2018 Gas Station Cucuta

We were almost out of gas and all the previous gas stations were out of diesel, so we just pulled in, offered 9 bol and they filled right in the tank no Jerry can hassle needed, only charged us 8 bol in the end which we thought was nice of them.

September 15th, 2018 Balneario del Pojpoquella

We went here to take a shower, but this place is disgusting. There's mild everywhere, shower are cold and dirty. The pool is a brown puddle.
Feel cleaner or to take a shower here.

August 29th, 2018 Frutos del Mar

Great food Stall from a lovely lady. She recommended the Sudado de pescado, which is a fish stew and it's so good! It's a massive portion so one is enough for two people unless you are very hungry. She also sells other specialties like sea urchin or sea-snails and of course ceviche. The stew cost 20 sol and was absolutely worthed.

August 27th, 2018 Laundry Service

I wasn't able to find this place.

August 6th, 2018 Tosta Cafe & Pan

They have the best bread we've had in all of our travels so far! And We've been to most of the German and the French bakerys. A true gem.

July 31st, 2018 Patas vet

Really great vet. They took such good care of our dog when he got bloody diarrhea. They took him on for 2 days, did blood tests and everything. They where really nice and really cared.
They also sell toys, good food and basically anything you could need.
It's the best Vet we encountered in Ecuador.

July 17th, 2018 Splendid--Self Service Laundromat.

One of the very rare self service lavanderías. Prefer this than having someone else do it, especially the delicates.

July 17th, 2018 Killa Wasi Hostel

Victor wasn't here when we were but a Woman was. She was most unhospitable, reacted very awkwardly when we used the guest kitchen, didn't want to turn on hot water for us and her dogs attacked ours! She saw that and stood there laughing!!!

June 19th, 2018 Midori Sushi

Great Restaurant - not just for Sushi, you have to try the seared Sesame Tuna. It's a massive piece of tuna covered in Sesame seeds and just very quickly seared. With ginger rice and salad. Good salad that is, not just iceberg drenched in vinegar but proper Romana salad and nice veggies. It's all nicely presented and all of good quality for a fair price ~15$ for the tuna dish, it is really worthed that!

June 14th, 2018 Hostal White House

Nice Hostel, close enough to most places. Comfortable bed, very clean, ok Wi-Fi compared to other places on the islands. great, very well equipped kitchen, very close to the market for cheaper veg&fruit. Paid $115incl. tax for 3 nights. Nice family runs this place, you're better off if you can speak Spanish.

May 23rd, 2018 Peña Pivico

We didn't want to spend the night at 3000 m as we were coming from sea level so we going to spend the night here. Seems quiet and nice enough.

May 22nd, 2018 CAMPING LA CUMBRE DEL MACIZO

Very nice camp and host. Lots of shade and level ground. Flush toilet with tp no soap, cold shower. Plenty of guayaba trees of which you can take as much as you like. Free, fresh bread and coffee or Agua panela in the morning. Very close to the archeological site. 20,000 ColP/per car.

March 4th, 2018 Fong Huang Cheng

This is an actual Chinese restaurant, not a fast food panda express style thing..
Had the best friend rice here since we left home. The portion was gigantic!!! one plate enough for 2-3 people for 5,75. Really can't complain.
Just one thing: the red sauce on the table is not hot sauce, it's ketchup. I learned the hard way. ...

March 3rd, 2018 El Castillo

We walked in and asked straight away if we could camp if we ate something- no problem. In the morning we bought a smoothie and asked for a shower - no problem. Had to pay $1 each for the shower, otherwise free. The Bo Bun was delicious! Staff s super friendly. Owner speaks Spanish, English, French.
