burchcreative Check-Ins

Date Place Comment
February 14th, 2021 Highland Hammock State Park

No walk-in, and same day reservations can only be made online before 1 pm. Because of that we couldn’t stay. 2 bars Verizon LTE

February 7th, 2021 Big pine fishing lodge - campground

Didn’t stay here because there are no dogs allowed... just a heads up to others.

February 3rd, 2021 Trimble Park

County camp ground with water and electric hookups, and dump station. Shade, Playgrounds and hiking trails. Waterfront sites available but no swimming allowed. 3-4 bars Verizon 5G. $20 a night. Definitely a gem! Must check in before 6 pm to get gate code.

January 20th, 2021 Burns Campsite

A bit out of the way, but beautiful, simple spot directly on the water. Can’t beat $15 for full hookups. Good internet and full bars Verizon LTE. Dated playground.

January 17th, 2021 Anahuac RV Park

Small, very tidy park. $25/nigh full hookups. Nothing fancy. Some long term with rough sites; nice park down the road. Overall safe and good value.

January 12th, 2021 Safety rest area

Clean, well-lit, felt safe. Very quiet. Good stop in an area with very very few options.

January 10th, 2021 Sierra Vista Trail-BLM

Beautiful, maintained gravel road, big rig friendly. Got the past spot at 2:30 on a Sunday.

January 10th, 2021 Baylor Pass West Trailhead

Suuuuuuper busy on a Sunday afternoon. Go further down the road for more space

January 10th, 2021 Baylor Canyon road

Couldn’t get past the first spot with our 32 ft motor home. Definitely need high clearance and a shorter wheel base. The fourth spot further up this road is a maintained road better for big rigs.

January 9th, 2021 Douglas golf and RV

Weird place. Very small spaces, most look permanent. No workers around, but someone living there said we could pull in. The one spot available had another RV bootlegging the electric. We moved on, which was frustrating cause there’s not much around.

January 2nd, 2021 Thousand Trails Verde Valley

Went here to give the kids a break and do laundry. Laundry, park, pool and golf were all closed. WiFi is paid and even then didn’t work. Not worth the $55.

December 31st, 2020 Fort Tuthill County Campground

Campground closed till May 2021. We tried to dump here but no luck

December 30th, 2020 Camp Avalon

Great spot just outside Sedona. Spiritual retreat that is pivoting to family friendly camping. Great swimming hole, friendly host, fast WiFi for $3 a day. Super clean. Definitely a hidden gem

December 23rd, 2020 Molina Basin Campground

Beautiful spot. Only 3 RV spaces and trailers over 22 ft are “not recommended.” The rest of the spots are open to any. We got our 32 ft motor home into a space, albeit with some
scraping over two drainage ditches. Especially if you’re in a van or tenting this is just a gorgeous spot with lots of privacy. No cell service.

December 20th, 2020 Pima County Fairgrounds

$30 full hookup, Dirt lot. 5G Verizon. 10 miles from Saguaro NP

December 20th, 2020 Free Sani dump, potable water, and propane

Propane, free dump and fill. It’s not a Speedway, not Shell. There are two on the same corner... you want the larger gas station.

December 19th, 2020 Skyline Regional Park - City of Buckeye

Super clean, new county park. $20 a night, no hookups, FCFS during covid. We were 1 or 2 campers for 7 lots in December.

Great for a few days. Plenty of hiking and biking trails. Lots of day use people, but camp sites are large and fairly private. We really enjoyed it for some R+ R. Ten minute to town but you feel far away.

December 15th, 2020 BLM DISPERSED CAMPING AREA

Lots of campers but tons of space. Clean. 3 bars Verizon. Some spots had soft sand but we had no problem finding a spot for our 32 ft motor home.

December 8th, 2020 Dockweller beach RV park

Urban park, but directly on the beach with bike path access to Marina Del Ray. Great spot.

November 29th, 2020 Santa Cruz Ranch RV resort

Established campground. Expensive ($90/night) and doesn’t offer much but if you get stuck like we did it’s good to know there’s an option. Paid WiFi, we didn’t try it

November 27th, 2020 Pier 19.5 RV PARKING

The only RV parking near the water front. $75 all day till 8:30 PM for RVS

November 27th, 2020 Fisherman Wharfs Parking

We were told no RVs “today,” despite lot being fairly empty

November 23rd, 2020 Elks RV park

Great spot to spend a night in an area with few options. Outside town in a rural area amid some groves. Super quiet and affordable. Friendly, clean, safe.

November 16th, 2020 Azalea Campground

Gorgeous spot. Our 33 ft motor home is probably about as big as you’d want to be during winter camping. 2 bars of Verizon, which seems a new addition (talking to other campers)

November 15th, 2020 Sequoia Resort and RV Park

Established campground with cabins and RV spots. Former cult compound. Beautiful, friendly staff, especially as you’re driving these hair-raising roads

November 7th, 2020 Wild Camping near Valley of Fire

Great spot, big rig friendly, 5G Full bars with Verizon. Just over 6 miles from gas station near the highway (where there’s also overnight parking). Very quiet, very windy

November 7th, 2020 quiet camping near I15

Had trouble finding this in the dark, but hit the one a bit up the road. Great spot, big rig friendly, 5G Full bars with Verizon. Very quiet, very windy

November 2nd, 2020 Durfield BLM

Entrance is on a hill top curve and easy to miss. It’s before the GPS says. Coming east, it’s an immediate right after mile marker 97.

Quiet, large sites, even roads, some trash. Great cell reception with Verizon

November 2nd, 2020 Best dog park ever!

Nothing special. Dusty and hard to park. If your pup is used to being off leash on BLM land this isn’t worth the visit.

November 1st, 2020 Speedway gas station

Free dump and fill, along the side of the car wash.
