Hi Everyone, Jamie from hotel Oberland here. just wanted to post an update on our hotel facilities and respond to some of the recent comments.

Our pool is still under renovation unfortunately. This is due to a huge delay by the ceramic tiles supplier, but we are working to finish all renovations as soon as possible.

It is true that that Swiss owner sold the hotel in August, but I'd also like to say that nothing on our menu has changed. The menu and the preparation methods used for meals are still the same as they were last year and the year before. We've added one new chef to our kitchen team, and he has learned all techniques from the 3 existing chefs.

We do charge 60Bob per person per night. While some people may find this price high (for Bolivia), please remember that the cost includes a secure parking facility with hot showers and wash facilities, which are cleaned daily. It also includes 24 hour security, free Wi-Fi, and the use of our pool and sauna (currently under renovation). All customers are able to connect to an electricity outlet and there is no cap on the amount of energy you require for the duration of your stay. My staff are all friendly and helpful and it's not easy to find good customer service in Bolivia. As such, we believe that 7.5 Euros (60 Bob) per night is not unjust.

Finally, as many have mentioned; yes, our WiFi is slow. We know this and as a business we also have to suffer the same frustration. However, since our hotel is located outside of the city, we do not have access to Fiber Optic, high speed internet. And when we have many customers visiting us, each person connecting to our WiFi will affect the speed for other users. If there was anything we could do to resolve this problem, we would do it. We have tried switching providers, but the new provider is no better than the old one. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, in that at the end of November, Fiber Optic cables were installed in our town. We are now waiting for this new provider to activate this new service so that we may subscribe to it, however the provider is unable to give us a time frame right now.

We value our Overlander client base very much, and my staff and I enjoy meeting different people each week and learning about their lives and adventures. Since taking ownership of the hotel, we have worked very hard to improve it and make the experience of all of our customers pleasant and enjoyable.

I hope to see some of you again in the future, and can't wait to meet more Overlanders who haven't passed out way yet.

Thank you and please stay safe. :)
