Blue Van Go | As described. Had dinner (good Yucatan food) and asked if we could spend the night in our van parked out front. The owner's daughter was there and said it was no problem. They were very friendly, made sure we had the WiFi password and we think she even had someone clean the shower for us! |

wu-tour.de | 2 different policestations (chucuyo and chungara) at the main road 11ch told us that the roads to salar de surire are open and transistable aswell for our sprintervan (no 4wheel). so we went - got first stuck on a95 rivercrossing (arroy ancuta). too much water, currency. so detour via a235, a231, a 245. where it joins the a95 again the bridge was washed away. its even for an 4wheel not recommented to cross now. so we went to the police here. they were very nice and helpful. even if we manage an other detour the road further south us not transistable as it is washed away aswell. roads will be maintained after the rainy season. best to come from september-october. no one else here now: no hospedaje, no food to buy, the lady with the keys for the church has left, too. safe anf quiet place at night. we asked in the morning whether we can do the retourn trip with two smaller river crossings under this weather connditions - we managed safely. |

sofi.dottori | Amaizing Hostel! More family style so quiet environment! Really friendly people!! Finnaly we can recommend something! Before this one we checked Punta Ballena, Loica and Gualicho. We preferred this absolutely!! New building, big rooms and toilets super clean and amaizing hot hot showers! Kitchen available till midnight! Check out at 10 am! Excellent location, YPF in the corner and center area at short walk way. Breakfast included. We paid 300pp for a 8 dorm (high season, but first night we been alone). Plugs everywhere, two per bed!! Incredible. Double rooms over 1000 in total. Wifi speed is not the fastest (pw: alvear621), the place is new so at the moment are fixing those details. |

adventurehaks.com | This place was a little bit out of our budget but it came highly recommended so we decided to go and make up for it later, we are oso glad we did. We paid 130Q/night for two, a private room with 2 single beds and shared bathroom. The room with a queen bed was $150Q. Our room was basic but we only slept there. They have shared dorm for 60Q/p. They have much nicer bungalows, some on the river or in the jungle for more $300-450Q/night I believe? Unfortunately all Food is extra, but really freaking good. The breakfast is 30-40Q/person and Lunch is around 45Q/meal, both from a menu. We brought snacks and ate only one meal other than dinner to save some money. The pizza for two for 65$ is the best bang for your buck at lunch. The dinner is 55Q/pp and is a family style meal. (You can ask to not have your meal with everyone) We can sometimes be antisocial but we really loved sitting down and getting to know everyone, the people and food were different every night. You never had to worry about not getting enough. The bread and chimmichurri that comes with dinner is worth it alone. Drinks are also extra. Alcohol was expensive but we smuggled in our own rum 😊. Drinking Water is 3Q for 1L. Out front of the hotel is the river where you can enjoy the sun on the a dock or have fun on the rope swing. Behind the hotel is thick jungle with hiking trails. They have kayak rentals and offered a variety of hiking and kayak tours. We did the hiking on our own, the trails are on maps.me so it was easy. Highly recommend checking out the tiger cave, bring a flashlight. We rented the kayaks for a day and went to Livingston (about 2.5hours) they offer a shuttle back so you don’t have to paddle back up river (for an extra cost, of course). They have a sauna and a hot shower for extra cost, it isn’t much. Cold showers are free 👍 they have a gym and a place to do you own laundry and hang it up, also free. We spent most of our days reading in the hammocks and just enjoying the beautiful scenery and peaceful setting - also for free! One final note, the boat from Rio Dulce to Finca Tatin or anywhere on the river is rather expensive. We paid 125Q/p on the way there and 110Q/p on the way back. If I would try and only pay the 110 on the way there. Finca Tatin offers a shuttle for 90q/p but only if they have 6 people, email or call before your arrival and see if they have a boat coming. They have boats to Livingston twice a day so coming or going there is never a problem (not sure of price on that). |

nathaniellarrea | Stayed here one night and regret not staying here the night before. This place was great as far as warm showers all day, cool people and just nicer spot to camp. Even though we stayed in a shared room, camping looked like fun. Shared room was 350/pn/pp. highly recommend over the camping spot next to lake |

ShredAir's Journey | This is a typical Colombian Sunday-Afternoon destination run by a very friendly family. It’s a lunch and day-time spot, which closes at 7 pm. There is no racket during the day or at night, but traffic is still loud. Otherwise, a very tranquil experience. We were there on Friday and Saturday nights, very recommendable if you like to avoid the party scene. The owners are an older couple. They and their young daughter Maria Teresa are interested in accommodating overlanders. Big rigs can enter, it’s a little tight to maneuver around in there; two big rigs can fit inside, more in adjacent lot. No wifi when we were there, Maria Teresa understands the need and says she’ll work on it. Restaurant serves home-cooked wholesome food at a reasonable price, beers are a bit spendy, byo. Music in the restaurant, if any, is pleasant and at low volume. |

cocololo.avelo | 3 wood roofed shelters mirador next to the lake, and parking lot. We set up the tent in the southern one, which still have his windows. Nice view... but really not the best place because of the noisy road, it makes like a helicopter sound when vehicles passing ! |

buymeford | I second the previous comment. Schedule changes from day to day so you cannot rely on it. Also if you come here in early February make sure you aren't trying to cross the day of or the day after the Asado festival where thousands come here to party. Because I guarantee you there will be no room. Also little tip for MOTORCYCLISTS: if ferry is full, buy tickets for the next ship avail and just chill next to your bike by the orange cones near the ramp. When the last cars are loaded just waive your ticket at workers and they'll let you in if your bike fits. Worked for us :-) |
