offroad-travelers.com | Very relaxed border crossing with friendly officers as described. We crossed on a Monday morning and it was not too busy. It was pretty fast since they have migration for both countries in the same building, in total it took us 1h 15 min. but most of the time was for the copies and waiting in line. You can bring tons of copies but you always need the page of the Exit stamp in your passport. |

offroad-travelers.com | We stayed one night and paid 100L without electricity. I asked at the reception for a shower but the guy said they offer only the toilets at the reception (open until 10pm) for overlanders. Later I asked the night guard who comes around 7pm about a shower and he was very kind and opened a room for us to shower. We even got hot water. |

pablogeiger | We didn't need a reservation. They have a few more campsites now. 143 sites in total. Many right at the water. I would say it's not one of these awful RV-Only-Campsites but obviously you won't be alone either. Definitely good for a night, especially if you wanna check out Kelowna. Our spot (no hook up) came with a fire bin and a picnic table. The bathrooms include showers and there is a nice beach. We paid 35$ in high season. |

cathyschweizee | Nice established campground right off Highway 1. 12 CAD per night, fire rings, free firewood, pit toilets, shelter. A few sites right by the lake, others in the woods. Some road noise, but gets quiet at night. Good T-mobile cell service. Water is available but needs to be boiled for at least 10 min. |

j_mepeaker | Staying at the side. Had a good large pizza 250. Clean toilets. -8 outside tonight...battery of the kombi flat this morning- the staff were not very helpful in giving us a push start. Strange- people have been so friendly until now-not your usual Argentina hospitality. |

Tony LEE | At the western end of the bridge there are pullouts on both sides of the highway and also beneath the bridge. Tracks also lead away from the cleared areas and there are open spaces in the forest that will take big rigs such as the one marked here which is far enough away that traffic noise is insignificsnt. |

koenenfien.mozello.com | Good place to stay for the night! Right next to the beach, quiet & safe. You can even have internet from the bar next to it. We stayed here in june and the bar wasn't open so no noise. |

petra.foith | visitor parking of alamut castle (of the assassins), where the little hike to the castle starts. there is shady spots where you can park on gravel park lot. few dogs around but other than that quiet. public toilets are well looked after. alternatively the owner of the golestan hotel next to the parking offered to camp in their yard, big old trees and big garden. also good to pitch a tent I assume. the hotel itself is pretty run down but the yard is beautiful. |

AndreasKramer.ch | Tiny spot right at the sea. Short hike to a shipwreck and picnic tables. Fantastic coastal scenery. Access via a very narrow dirt track. Wind protected tent camping possible in nearby quarry, but only accessible on foot. Unfortunately there is a rotting whale nearby, very bad smells in 2018. |

tanktochest | You know, I’m a big fan of the out of sight out of mind adventure type of thing. Most good fun and beautiful places are off limits or questionable at best. I have jumped in one night I was really sweaty and had libation confidence. Was the coldest water I ever felt but in a pinch and super quick who’s gonna say any better. Plus there isn’t a sign that says no. |

Notier's Frontiers | An amazing place to stay. 15,000 to camp in a wonderful secluded area of Colombia. Google maps does not have the road to the farm listed, but getting there was not difficult at all, it was a beautiful ride. The hosts are such good people, and Alejandro speaks perfect English. He showed us his farm in detail, and we got hands on with the cocoa process. An awesome stop, highly recommended. The farm has a perfect view of one of Colombia's most incredible natural spectacles: the jagged peaks of Funa and Tena. Ask Alejandro to tell you the indigenous legend about these towering monoliths, and you also get a picture perfect drive by as you head to the farm along a cliff-side road. This area is so green and lush, it almost seems fateful that it is emerald mining country, and supposedly the mountains are full of them. But Alejandra doesn't want to mine through the mountains on his land searching for emeralds. Instead he wants to sustainably preserve the virgin land in its natural state by growing organic cacao, a plant that is native to the region, and he employs the local people as farm hands. It's a really inspirational endeavor, one that brings prosperity to the local community while bringing chocolate to this world. Couldn't be better. |

drivingnanook.com | Walmart parking lot right off the main road. Lots of amenities nearby like gas, Tim Hortons, bathrooms in stores during business hours. Lots of other campers. Traffic noise and some kids meeting up with their cars to do burnouts but they weren’t causing trouble. It was nice and quiet after midnight. |
