It was raining when I arrived. I followed the road a bit more and found a trail entrance that is flat and not too muddy.
Very quite

Had no issue with the road here, it was unpaved but we'll maintained and in the best shape out of all the roads we've encountered thus far. Worth the trek in our opinion. It's about 12 different natural looking hot spring pools in the jungle. Super peaceful and relaxing! We were there on a Monday night and also woke up first thing in the morning and had the place to ourselves. You park on a giant grassy lot.... one of the cooler hot spring expierence we've had in a long time. A little pricey but worth it to us.

Signs say 1 hour only for customer parking, we have parked here a few times for a whole day and never had a ticket. Also camped here on Canada day with no issues so I’d say it’s pretty chill, super close to the city aswell and it’s free yewwww

We stayed here in the off season so were on our own for 3 days. Great views and top camp spot. The donkey was lit morning and night but the showers could do with better shower heads. Cost was R200 per day for two on a powered site so has gone up and is a bit expensive for what you get. We did have a -10c morning which was a shock and it even caused a couple of water pipes to burst. One evening the owner came out and let off about 20 shots from his gun which was a bit disconcerting. Over all we loved our three days there though!👍

When heading towards Mashhad (for picking up the Visa) / Turkmenistan I was passing by Bajnour. As it was on my way, I dropped by at Mohsen, who has contacted me more than half a year ago when I was still preparing my trip. Since then he helped me via PM or posts in his FB group to get things sorted out here in Iran.
Actually I just wanted to stay in Bajnour just for one night, but thanks to his friends I got some works done on my Honda Africa Twin and stayed two: mounting my GPS system, my handle bar raisers, my bottle holder as well as some maintenance works like brake adjustments, blowing out my water cooler as well as cleaning some oil pipes next to other things.
As it was a super hot day I bought some drinks for the guys of the workshop. As we had a lot of fun we also took a lot of pics.
After three hours and two to three people constantly working on the bike they refused to accept any money. None of them. Including Mohsen.
(For the sake of completeness - I went to a cake shop and bought a big box of local cakes for all the guys)
Having said all this, judge for yourself what kind of guys Mohsen and his friends are and what high prices in Iran say about the person who asked for the works...

Not a very sexy choice, but there was nothing much on the road before that.
There is a guesthouse with banya and a small tire repair shop.
Petrol station just next it.

I almost hate to add a report on Mill’s Canyon as I hope it remains a well guarded secret. This place is special! Secluded, quiet, and pristine. Fortunately, it is a bumpy last few miles down to the lower campground, so maybe we can all keep this one to ourselves a little longer..

Kind of confusing place. Gate says it's a hot l but when you enter there is a little bar to the right called "Sand Bar". Not really nice guy at the bar wanted 100 pesos so I can establish my tent... Didn't stay since he was really not that friendly. But besides the beach is awesome... Maybe works for someone else. Access via muddy path. Came by motorbike. 4x4 can enter - bigger rigs probably no...

Says Hostel... but it's more like a cheap camping inside walls... they have tents but you can also use your own. 50peso... Don't expect any luxery here... Rastaman owns the place. If you are into smoking dope all day - this is probably your place. Could enter with my motorbike... I liked it...

Mauritania desert crocodiles. There are some in Mat Mata and some here. We have seen 7 in the dry season very close to us. The track to here can only be find by gps coordinates. the beginning is in the village Foum el cherat.you can ask the village people for the entry to the track. there are very friendly. You have to walk the last 800m before you can easily wildcamp somewhere.
gps coordinates (stolen from kohlbach guide (which we like and recommend)) :

really enjoyed these ruins. as for me there are really different from Tikal and chitchen itza; there is less incredible architecture but there is definitely more amazing Stella and sculptures ; especially the hieroglyphics stairs. worth the stop. and as a bonus you get to see free macaws (which were freed by the mascaw rescue center that we visited too ; nice visit too). as for the tunnels we did not feel to pay extra for this. the ruins are located in a nice jungle too

Overlanders are very welcome, Renato and Cecile are very welcoming and lovely hosts.
Perfect stop over to explore the Chaco, to meet the nice inhabitants of Rosaleda and their stories. Enjoy Renato's good food. On hot days, the swimming pool and the covered veranda invite you to linger and have a break from the journey.

Nice place. You can barely hear the cars from the street. View is pretty cool.
There's two dirt roads only a few meters apart. Take the second one coming from south. It takes you further away from the hwy and has better views.
The road is kinda grown over, so oly for small vehicles.
There's a rest area with pit toilets at the hwy only 500 m away.

Gas station, restaurant and parking lot
Great place to rest and spend the night traveling with motorhome. There is a shaded parking lot behind the convenience store, with good security and no road noise. Great restaurant, snack bar, clean toilets and Wi-Fi. Highly recommend.
