Nice campground. Clean restrooms, hot showers, friendly staff, kitchen, wi-fi, small restaurant. Enjoyed my stay here. Paid 20 pp during low season.

There is also a free dumping. Just 10 m away.

This was the easiest border crossing for us since Mexico. No exit stamp needed for our passports leaving Bolivia. Just needed the following:
1. a stamp on our TIP before the bridge
2. paid 30 Bolivianos to the police officer who stamped - not sure if this was an official payment
3. made two double sided copies of the stamped TIP
4. crossed the bridge and had our passports stamped for entry into Argentina in the small building on the right
5. crossed the street and handed the original TIP and one copy to the Bolivian Aduana, who kept both
6. crossed back to the other side of the street and handed the copy of TIP, original title, passport and license of owner to Argentinean Aduana who quickly made our TIP, without mentioning the required insurance (which we did not have yet)
7. we drove the car up for a quick inspection - no dogs, no crazy searches, just a peak into the back seat and scanned our two duffle bags.

this place was is the wrong location. it's next to repsol fuel. Salomon is very nice. charged 35 soles for 3 hours if work. he has a large lot any right can fit. it's a bit basic but they get it done!

Good secure parking!! It is around the corner. Huge gate with a family that runs it. Three barking dogs, and when I went at 7 last night to get dog food, the mama answered with a big stick in her hand. With all the break ins in Puno, my car felt very safe.

Hotel is great. 60 soles for a single, without bookings 54. Parking is an extra 7 soles per night. Hot water, but ask at the desk before you take a shower. Dog friendly. Good WiFi, tv. Excellent breakfast, as some one said before. Clean and warm. I got a sunny room and loved it. He speaks English and is very helpful. I took two excellent tours they sold, plus he made me copies.

He went out of his way to help me. It is a walk into the Plaza de Armas, but you see real Puno. Nearby are good chicken places and an excellent bakery for empanadas and cakes.

Austrian guy travelling north by car. Got my letter of introduction at the Austrian embassy one hour after showing up (5000KeS). It‘s also hanging at Jungle Junction but with name, date etc. Next day I took Taxify Go from Jungle Junction to the embassy for 470!KeS. Was at the embassy at about 10. Went straight inside the consular section. Security scans you and you have to leave your phone turned off behind. Inside go to the reception with:

letter of your embassy
passport

The guy will bring the papers to the ambassador while you wait inside.
After he comes back with your papers, there will be some notes on the letter. Now you‘ll get the application form. Fill it and be sure to have a phone number, name and address of the hotel, email and also any name of the „manager“. On the back side write the countries in Africa you‘ve been to, which one after Ethiopia and where to in Ethiopia (Bale,Omo...).

After that you have to go to the woman with the cross on hear forehead. Give her

the filled form
the letter of your embassy
the passport
copy of passport
one passphoto
maybe booking (I did)

If it‘s fine, you‘ll get the bank details and the price for your visa in $ (1 month 40, 3 months 60...). Go to the next commercial bank of Africa (about 1,5km walking distance) and ask the security how to do it. You can pay in Kes, USD, EUR. After 2pm I went back to the embassy with the receipt and were able to pick up my passport within the visa.

So it‘s a one day procedure and no problem if you got anything as stated...

Next to last stop in Mexico before entering Guatemala. Was able to get some minor repairs to travel trailer while staying overnight. As described full service for $300 pesos. Used air conditioning without problem.

We went to this GPS coordinate location and there is no parking there. The area is part of the Yamaska National Park and it is not allowed to park

Great place to sleep over. Has a shade and friendly people in the neighborhood. Quiet since 7pm up to 7am

We followed the coordinates, and both roads leading to the location were closed. There were signs indicating industrial land and day use only. This was on 7.2.18

Quite busy border point, a lot of trucks
Locals advised to use the border at Sadixli instead
Most inefficient and slow crossing experienced in this region
AZ side took 5,5 hours

On AZ side there are a lot of shops / SIM cards / cheap fuel directly after crossing

Very friendly mechanic, he fixed our brakes (Toyota). Highly recommended.

New hotel. Price for a room is 5000 (for 2 persons). Very clean, shower, toilet, and good food. We enjoyed our stay here, friendly staff

Sheltered area in the woods to escape the endless farmland in this area. Shaded area off the track in the woods. Just for regular size car/SUV.

This is the place in Gorno where you can register your visa. It's quite hard to find, and don't listen to Lonely planet coz that's the wrong place.

An amazing little spring with ice cold fresh water. Was quite busy when we were there with locals filling bottles.
