The only backpackers in Kasama. Restaurant is good but very slow. There are some bats roosting in tall bamboo in the garden.

Tall vehicles and big rigs will not fit here, branch over gates is 3m high. Owner directed us to his sons house (the golf house on Google Maps) but 100 kwacha pppn to stay on a slanted driveway is too steep! There is nowhere else in Kasama to camp unfortunately.

Small Hospedaje on the edge of town, rooms with 4 beds and clean. 650 pasos per night. There is WiFi, but not in the rooms, you have to stand at the front or pull up an uncomfortable chair in the garage/storage area. There was hot water for one hot shower, but none the rest of the time. Lots of flies hanging out in our room too. We stayed as our first choice in town was closed and couldn’t be bothered to cycle more, but I don’t feel it’s good value for money. There are some very cute dogs who make the stay (almost) worth it.

As described. full of sites. Rubbish everywhere, as usual... Some places with shelter and table. Useful when it rains. Quiet night. Road and plane traffic stops during the night.

Amazing camping location by the lake. About 3,5km from Ruta 40 on mostly good ripio, it’s worth the little detour! Good wind protection, very quiet and nice sunset. Room for at least 4-5 tents.

Beautiful swimming pool, Nice bar and restaurant in the lodge nearby that you can use that’s why it’s worth to stay in that place. WiFi unfortunately not to fast. Camping spots small and pretty far from the main lodge (500 m). Ablutions clean and big. We paid 105 P pppn.

Nice free camping.
They are indicating that you can't put your tent allong the lake and that you should put it on a grass ground above with no view. But when you go on this grassy part and then go down to the lake trought the trees, you will find 2 perfect spots for putting a tent just in front of the lake with a perfect view and it's totally allowed.
Great place for fishing.
Not fitting for cars or campvans.

19000 COP p/p now if you want to camp in your van (high season). We learned during our stay that the dorm price was 18000. When we tried to discuss with the owner about this injustice (we use no towels, mattresses, etc) she hang up the phone at her employee which was supporting us. The kitchen needs a bit of love and there was no hot showers after 3 minutes. Beautiful place though, it’s really sad that the owner just seems to care about money.

Hotel looked very neat with nice beds and bathrooms, but the lady asked 80Bol per bed! No option to camp neither parking off the street. Because of the price we didn't stay.

It's not a slow car, it's a fast house

Cross the low water, turn and head up the concrete road. You will arrive at part two of the city swimming area. Facilities as mentioned. The house is a restaurant, bar, tienda but the parking area is owned by the city so it is FREE. (Buy something from the store) We had one quiet night, but for some barking dogs. We chose to leave before the weekend masses arrived. Clear flowing water. Bathrooms. Dish sink. Recycling. A few spots to get level, some with shade.

We stayed two nights here. The first night we asked for a bathroom (hot and good shower!!) and were charged 200 pesos. The second night we asked without a bathroom (used the washrooms of the restaurant) and were charged... 200 pesos?! didn't understand everything
(Ioverlander secret: you can have wifi in your van, the hotel wifi works better than the restaurant wifi. Password: [Password removed by Moderator.]

To get to this campground you have to drive through a local neighborhood with dusty streets and many holes so I wouldn’t recommend it for a large RV. You can get water for your RV and there are also dry spots (200 & 100 each). We spent 10 days and left our belongings in the campsite while doing day trips to nearby places. There were even some guys doing work next to our spot and everything was OK. Keep in mind this campground is located on a local neighborhood and is not a gringo bubble RV site. You will see more locals and the permanent residents treated us very well. Only good things to say about Pepe and company.

Nice long and wide beach, not too far from UAE border. Next to road but didn’t bother us at night. Spectacular mountain backdrop and sunsets. Fairly busy at the weekend but quiet during the week. Good for swimming. Playpark in middle section of the beach with some facilities.

We stored our truck with Mar and Luis for fourteen days whilst holidaying in Asia.

The storage is secure (right next to their house) with a very sturdy locked gate. They are able to provide an electrical hook up for a small additional cost, which we used to ensure our truck stayed warm on the cold winter nights.

Mar and Luis can also provide a drop off and pick up service to the airport for a reasonable fee, well below a taxi fare. We used this service and it was excellent - Luis was there to pick us up and bring us back to our truck.

Could not fault this service in any way at all. Mar and Luis are fantastic hosts!!

Was a good campsite next to the laguna. Bathrooms were nice and you do have some views of mountains in the distance on clear days. We had no wind that night which was nice - not sure what it would be like on a windy night.

I spent a week here, beautiful place writhe the river at 15m. Police patrolling frequently, friendly neighbors. Flat place. Not able for big rigs. On weekdays lot of traffic around 7am as this is in front of a school. To find a place you should come after 5pm, even after 7pm is much easier.
