As I was enjoying the view after a quiet first night Campemento Ecological El Sotz (who have the toilet key) came at 9am and installed a NO CAMPING sign and told me to move on.. So I guess it's not a public parking place

Average camping with a lot of space but nor much shadow. Clean bathrooms and big common areas, you need to use your own equipment. 5000 pppn. Owners put our cooling elements in their freezer for us.

Very clean when we visited. No rubbish at all. Also not a lot of people around, but quite some noise from the road. Some cars passed by, the gate was open and people seem to use it as an easy place to make a ‘u-turn’.

The evening we arrived no one was around and we didn’t pay anything. The next morning (thursday) the gates were closed (it’s a chain, not really a gate) so you might have to pay on weekends in off-season.

Good for a night.
We didn’t see animals but did hear them.
There’s water available.

Not sure if the wall was indeed one big long wall, or a collection of fortresses. This sight is a fortress, but there not much to see or left. It just looks like a small hill. Not worth a detour, but if you drive towards the north a good stop for lunch.

Update: if you look for ‘great wall of gorgan’ on, you’ll find and actual wall and several similar fortresses. Don’t expect to see much, just some muddy hills.

World heritage sight, as mentioned in the Lonely Planet. Also called Gonbad-e Qabus. Entrance is 200.000 rial and you’ll receive an English info-flyer. Really weird echo at two places in and around the tower!

Great spots. Thanks guys. When you leave the 926 at this spot and follow the gravel road towards the cooling towers (keep the river at your left) you will find after 2 km. a nice open picknick spot with tables, dustbin and nice river view. Because it's quite open you will not be bothered by "hook-up" activities. We enjoyed a quiet and peacefull night. Easy access for all rigs. No height restriction here.

As described below, painfully slow and minimum 3 months (188,000 for vanagon).
4 other seguros in town, all from ioverlander, were unable to do soat for us because the systems were down. Tried two separate days, nothing. This was the only place in town able to sell us insurance, but what a gong show.

Came for one night, stayed for 2. Great spot to camp (in our truck). Peaceful town. We have our own kitchen setup so were able to cook. Showers are not hot but hot water is not needed here. New showers/washroom behind the cabins along the road are better.

The owners were lovely and working daily to make improvements. Would return here.

This was one of our favourite beaches we visited and didn’t mind paying mxn $30 ea. to visit the community managed beach. They keep it clean for the most part and it seems the town recycles and composts.

we left our dog and van here twice while we spent time traveling with my mother-in-law. (without our van) the owner is very nice and the property is quite big. we paid 330/day fir our dog and van but he mentioned that he recently raised his prices a bit. there a dirty toilet which you can use and a pool which was nice and clean when we visited. he allowed Ys to sleep in our can there one day for no extra charge and said he welcomed others. you can get Uber from here to the city for $800-$1200 pesos. or visit the large nearby mall.

Beautiful surrounding and view from the camping! You can see valley and waterhole from the hill. Braai, fireplace and common picnic area. No electricity at sites. Very nice staff especially Agnes which can bring you firewood and make a fire. Ablutions in a pretty bad condition (lots of big spiders and bugs, dirty) but next morning Agnes cleaned them. We had cold showers. 10 usd per vehicle, 10 usd pp entrance fee if you’re staying in the park for the night * 17 usd pp for camping. Two days one night in the park for two people= 64 usd
