Not a bad hotel. They charged us 400 pesos for a room with two beds. We tried to negotiate but no luck. There's secure parking behind the hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, water was hot.

Attention! Policeman corrupts
We hace been stopped with our motorhome. Two women and a baby. They wanted to make us pay because the driver had open shoes and the baby wasn’t attached.
They wanted euros and make us loose our time but nothing else. When we said again and again that we wait for the bill they finally let us leave

Was as described. Came in our F250 truck and truck bed camper. Drove down the road maybe another half mile further where there was a smaller road on the left leading down to the beach. Parked just 10 feet off of the main road here where there was hard pack sand that was OK for us to drive on. A couple people drove past at night but no one bothered us. Doesn’t seem to be a busy area

Guard station with gate that needs to be opened to pass onward to Papallacta. To drive the road to Papallacta you need to first visit the town of Oyachachi to purchase a permissions document. The document can be purchased at the tourism office down by the termales entrance. We were charged $2 for permission.

Very nice place, excellent coffee and pizza, plus view to the city from the rooftop terrace. It's located close to the parking of jeronimo, they also have breakfast. All at very good prices!

Super quirky spot with lovely warm pools for soaking. Marco, the owner, is very soft spoken and kind - he brought us coffee the morning after our stay! It got VERY cold camping at night (high desert) but great plush grass for setting up a tent. There was a tienda at the water park but no restaurant to be seen.

Great spot to sleep. There is a truck side and a car side. Not sure why the previous reviewer was bothered by truck sounds...it’s so much better than a regular rest area where everyone is mixed in together. Facilities are awesome and clean, very cool mosaics and metal work, grounds have an awesome picnic area. I like how the grounds create many different spaces, areas to walk and tables to sit at that feel slightly secluded versus some strip of barren land on the side of the highway where you have to find a bush in plain sight to pee in if ya gotta go. Yes, I’ve done that. Oh, I also saw some cute and not surprisingly fat coons. If you have dogs, be aware of this since I’m sure they aren’t scared one bit to come in contact.

Nice parking lot at a height of 3950m! You have nice views of the mountain and if you walk a bit you have nice views of the valley and southern parts of Mexico City, too. About one km+- before the parking lot is a fork to the left. There is a sign showing camping opportunities at the fork, too. If you take the road to the left there is a nice spot. We nearly didn’t get up again with our RWD pickup with a camper on the bed.

Indeed a very cold night! The coldest (including Bolivia and Peru) and we are actually at the end of spring so it is supposed to get warmer, I guess this must be a very cold spot all year round. The lake shore was frozen in the morning and we had ice inside our windows, too! See picture with our cat ;)

Gated, walled, dusty, dirt parking lot with very helpful family running it and living on the premises. It can be used for short or long term parking. We used it in late May of 2018 for short term parking while living in the camper. We then left our Mercedes Sprinter there for 6 months. It has potable city water and they can wash your vehicle. Water pressure for potable water is low during day. Rough toilet with no seat. It’s called Garaje Alfredo (Phone: +51 984 135 789) and has 24 hour access. HUGE open Mercado (every day) four blocks away. We paid five Soles per day for both short and long term parking. When we returned in December of 2018, the van was quite dusty but virtually as we had left it. The local police (3 blocks away) were very responsive in doing the inspection for acquiring the vehicle suspension permit and SUNAT located near the Plaza De Armas was exceptionally helpful. Family speaks Spanish only. A member of the family went with me to the police station and to SUNAT. I left them with the complete instructions for acquiring the permit to leave the vehicle.

Nice place, can't be close to the lake because the neighbor is building his house but that's OK. Toilets not really clean. My parents had a room with really hot shower. Ask a boat trip with Freddy, 120 soles for the boat whatever you are 2 or 12, we were 7 lot of space in the boat. Nice people in the island, good explanation, buy a stuff there is a bit expensive but better to do it, I would do it again.

Agree with everything that’s already been said, 15pp with dinner and breakfast. Breakfast is really good- oats, bread, fruit, omelette, juice, yogurt and hot drinks. Comfy beds, good WiFi, quiet at night and great sunset views. They also have a garden where they let people camp with tents.

When we turned up the only person there was the cleaner and she rang to get a price which was 750 for a matrimonial shared bathroom or 900 with private bathroom.
We had the large shared bathroom to ourselves because the other room that we would be sharing with was empty. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was hot, the place was quiet and breakfast was 8-11am so we could get up late (unless you want to check out which is 10am). Very friendly staff. The breakfast was good with a selection of pastries, bread with toaster, jam, butter, fruit salad, cream, cereals, milk, coffee and a selection of teas.

Spacious secure parking is available diagonally opposite the hostel. Short walk into town, plenty of places to eat nearby.

Beautiful spot about 30 metres from the lake with amazing views. Our site came with a clean private bathroom which was nice. Large sites suitable for big rigs. 6000 pesos pp at this time of year, I guess more in peak season. Well worth it. Recommended.

OMG. You've come through all of Latin America to reach the end of the world. All the basic parts and supplies you've been struggling to find, searching for hours going from tienda to tienda, only to finally buy sub-par items at exorbitant prices.

Here, is your redemption.

Tires, oil, solar panels, batteries, everything.

Good quality, brand name items at US prices.

You've made it this far. You deserve this.
