During our stay in Malawi, we visited Floja twice. Pauline and Andre were extremely helpful and friendly. The funds for the camping goes to the foundation. They support young children via a creche and provide meals for them. Really a good cause and beautiful place to stay in Northern Malawi

Good value. G45000 a night. The rooms are looking a little bit tired and the communal furniture could do with sprucing up but it's a good functional hostel in a good location. You can get good prices on Booking.com.
The hosts are friendly helpful people. There's air conditioning but it's not on in the daytime.
Secure parking for my motorcycle and big enough for a few cars.

Really nice campground with firepits, toilets, shelter. Stayed here for one night. It’s free but you can donate.

Wonderful campsite. Rustic old farm and warm helpful couple who are the hosts. Our best campsite in Chile. Clean bathrooms and a kitchenette for campers. Highly recommended. Good view of the bay. Green lawn for your tent. Quiet. Farm animals around you.

Update: the cops came. They were very nice. On our way out we stopped by the WVU (who own the property) and they said they do not allow anyone to stay here overnight. Everyone was polite but now we are going to stay at a Walmart. They do have a campground right across the road but it does cost money.

Seems to be best supermarket in town. They had bread, some cheese, a little bit from everything and (for this town really special) some fruits!!!
That all for fair prices.

Nice place if you get caught by rain/snow, like we did. It’s out of the main road. Super quiet and no wind when we camped, just snow and rain since is quite high altitude 4850m.

very, very clean, just right behind the beach (waves for Bodyboards), animation-program on campground and very crowded in high season, but quiet. You can walk to the Centre where you can find everything: shops, restaurants, supermarkets.....really one of the bests we've seen in Brasil

charming little family hostel runs by a very nice woman named Amy who helps and flexes everything you needs. The hostel is clean, hot water, shared kitchen and Netflix for movies, average Wi-Fi and excellent location - only five minutes from bus station and supermarkets in town, 10 min from main square. An excellent and very cheap option for backpacks compared to all other places in Villa de leyva. single tent 17000cop pp/ 19000 with breakfest. The tent already exists with a thick mattress and blankets. DORMS 21000/25000 with/without breakfast.Double room with shared bathroom 55000cop/ 75000cop with private. (Prices of low season. You can fimd them in hostelworld). The Hostel gives a sense of home, great volunteers who help keep the place, shared evenings of music, movies and hanging out. stayed here first for 3 nights and came back after a month. Asked for david and the tour for cascada periquera - he have a lot of knowledge about the place and the history - worth it. Pet friendly. The only drawback is the lack of parking inside the hostel- it is possible on the street though and it save in the village.

Quiet. Entrance ungated roads off either CR-283 or CR395. There are a couple of small pullouts for sprinters or smaller vehicles that have probably used these sites. We drove in and camped in a ways. Roads are drivable but not recommended for long vehicles or 5th wheels as there is limited ability to turn around. Some roads had standing water so use good judgement.

Car wash parking lot with a locked gate at night. Owner was very friendly and let us camp for free. After the long wait crossing the Nicaraguan border, this was the furthest we could take a bus before dark. Headed to Playa Santa María Del Mar this morning, only 45 mins from here.

Beautiful spot on bluff overlooking beach, could stay for days. Quiet beach with surfing 5 min walk south. Shady areas to set up. Clean washrooms and showers. 7,000 colones for 2 people and overlander.

The owner is friendly and leaves you to your own devices. Lots of Costa Rican families & couples here; all quiet & respectful.

We were able to charge our battery that powers our fridge by disconnecting it and charging it at their house.

For people that commented it’s difficult to find, I think that the roads on the map are not all accurate - there are signs for the campsite off the main road, just follow them. you can also find this spot on google maps.

With our big truck we needed 3,5 hours from the Western Highway to Caracol.
The dirt road to Pine Ridge Lodge is worst (1h), the part to the Checkpoint is ok (45 min) and from there to Caracol has good and worst parts (1 h+45 min).
Entrance Fee BZ$ 15,00/person
