Unsure about the name. It might be Bahrdhr Hotel.

Quite big complex with some 20 rooms. The rooms are clean and there’re long drop toilets and (non heated) showers on the premises. Beds are alright and they do have a generator that gives electricity. Walls with barb wire run around the hotel.

They sell water and beer and can cook you up some food (most probably traditional Ethiopian food) if you ask them. Nearby, on the main road, there are a few bars and one of them serves a quite good pasta! Look for flashing lights.

Payed 300 Birr for a double room. Guy at the border told us it should be slightly less.

Totally okay place to sleep when waiting to do border crossing.

I just wanted to make people aware of the municipal "Road tax" that we had to pay. In not sure where the municipal starts but Bombas for sure. In a Ford F350 with slide in camper we paid R$41.50. I think it was slightly cheaper for a smaller car and motorbike. We didn't notice any signs for this in the way in so by the time you got the checkpoints you're kind of committed. Traffic at this time of year was a nightmare. The alternate route over the mountain is a nasty, steep, dirt road. A complete rip off of I'm honest but you decide where that alters your decision to come or not.

Bar/restaurant at the parking lot for the Popoyo break with a beautiful view overlooking the surf. They allowed us to park our van for a couple of nights. 10per night for 2 ppl. Bathrooms and showers available but very rustic.

Not good on weekends! Slept here on a Thursday night and it was quiet, tried to sleep here on a Friday night and it turns into a meetup for car enthusiasts around 10 pm. About 10 cars came and parked all around us doing burnouts and doughnuts.

Free entrance to the park. Registration is 8km away from road leading to the penguins. Gates closes at 4pm but you can unlock it easily. Road to camping still closed. Loads of pinguins and their fluffy babies. Really close to the path. It's awesome.

We stayed here for one night after crossing Lima and it was getting late. If you stay at the lorry park behind the service station (entrance to the left of the supermarket behind the grey wall) it is much quieter and depending where you park, you get ocean views. We paid 15S for 24h. You can have a cold shower for 2S at the hotel. Toilets at the service station open 24h and free. ATMS available, a supermarket and a number of food trucks. If you want to go into Lima from here an Uber is 30S to Miraflores.

THE place to get hold on all the nuts and dried fruits you've been craving for! You've probably seen the yellow/green bags along the carretera austral, and here you'll find all of those things AND more in bulk. Super good quality, the almonds are to die for!

Very nice guy, he is normally closed on week-ends but we tried to go (saturday morning) and went out when he saw us.
He fixed/weldt in 1h something a metal part holder of our truck that broke the day before for 10.000p.
No idea for other works.

At the gas station gastrak they are selling insurance policies for Sanborn’s Mexican Company for foreign RV before crossing the frontier (we have a french RV). We can do it online but we needed to print the insurance paper and it was easier to go directly to the agent.

Beautiful garden oasis in the middle of Ticul, just a few blocks from main plaza. Various rooms to rent, clean and decorated all with ac/hot water/tv/wifi/minifridge/fan. Smallest and cheapest room (500pesos for two) is big enough to store 2 touring bikes inside easily. big and secure parking lot, entry into lot has a low overhang so vehicles with high clearance might not fit. very friendly and accomodating owner. the gardens, pool, patio spaces, and hammocks are lovely and are a welcome respite from the town itself. glad we came here just because we heard its nice, its even better in person. definitely a nice place to relax a couple days. town has two big groceries, Italian food, and plenty of good traditional food too. plus bike/wheel repair. room includes breakfast of coffee, pan dulce, fruit, and honey.

Sites with power and lighting. Most have large canopy with tables and chairs and fire drum. Sinks near sites. Hot showers.
Lots of tree cover. Swimming pools, playground, lots of space for the kids to run around.
Easily accessable to all vehicles.
Friendly owners who even offered us a thermos of hot water when we arrived and sold us some toilet paper coz we forget to bring enough.
5000pppn.
Barely any signage out the front, look for the small flags on the fence.
We checked out El Encanto up the road and were told 7000pppn and the guy tried to tell us this place was more expensive. Skip Encantro, come here.

I only used the garbage and recycling receptacles and the dump station but it seems nice from this view. There is not potable water 🚰 that you can hook a hose up to and fill your tanks.

I tried to camp here but after messing with the kiosk for a while and it not working I decided I wasn’t going to stay. The reason I am leaving a review because I hiked at Hart Park Big Loop down the road from here and it was a really nice hike. This campground may be worth it, despite the kiosk troubles and other reported shower cleanliness/value. Also, the kiosk was showing $20 for one night, it $12 for some reason.

Entry 40 pesos pp. A guide is not obligatory or needed, the path is easy to follow (ca. 30 min). Impressive to see the adventurous types rappel down the cave and watch the birds enter in the evening. They started to come in around 16:20, and they were still arriving at 17:20 when we had to leave. Note: camping is for tents only at this place and your car will be on the streetside parking lot. They told us we could camp in the lot in our RV, but because it is so open we didn’t do it.

Great campsite between Etosha and Torra bay. We paid 980 for 4 pax. Every spot is very distant so you do not feel that there is someone else in the campsite.Every campsite spot has water, toilets, braai, shower. No electricity. You can use little swimming. Perfect sunset view from the rocks. Highly recommended. No wild animals.
