Border crossed in one hour. Very easy !

As described. We spoke with the family that cleans the oyster cages and they said no problems sleeping here. Parked next to old salt building. Enjoyed talking with a couple of the fishermen. Nice quiet night. While the place is unorganized and dirty, take your trash with you. There are porta potties.

Mini shop with drinks, and food (some vegetables, eggs, bananas and chocolate) there’s also some vegetables in the fridge.

We ask the friendly owner Nelly to boil eggs for us!

Useful if you’re riding the Great Peru Devide in the middle of this tough uphill

beautiful hike! first part is easy till the camping place after is harder with a good uphill ! My gps said only 10kms and it took us 2h45 to go up but we were light. only small back pack for the day.

Amazing view from the 2083m view point next to the Cerro Lopez at the enormous Tronador, Osorno, Puntiagudo, Casablanca, Puyehue Volcanos and the complete Lago Nahuel Huapi below you. You can even spot the Lanin at a distance of 163k given you get lucky with the weather like we did and have a cloudfree sky.

To get up here it’s only a relaxed little afternoon stroll...no it’s not!
It took us 80min from the parking lot to the Refugio Lopez and another 67min to the summit so in total 2h 27min for the 5k and 1200m altitude. It is straight up in your face hill climbing with no diversity except for the last K before the refugio where you follow the dirtroad. For the last part from the Refugio you should be in good condition.

The view though is totally worth the 2,5h strain...would do it again!

One of the best Rest. in town with international food. Safe parking in front. Try the Salmon or Seafood pasta, is delicious. Also good wine selection.

Interesting given the prices quoted previously. We turned up on foot to ask about staying the night. The owners son Douglas said he'd ask his father and let us know the price. We were quoted R$80 per night for 2 people in a slide in camper. This isn't a campsite with campsite facilities. It's a parking with a cold shower and toilets so that price is too much and I again feel that the people are just trying to fleece tourists.

Drove up to La Gringa where the white tires are. Was told that it was 25 pesos per day/night....not just for trash pickup. View was nice but stayed at La Playa on S of town for free with great views too...just a little trash.

It is the only camping in town with internet and hot showers 24 hours. It cost 10000 per person in high season. Bathrooms are clean and the owner is good.

We got here around 4 and while others came to do hike, only one other camper joined us overnight - were not checked in on. No cell signal. Very quiet.

Very clean facilities. Very nice hot shower when wood fired water heater is on. Price is 6000 clp. Private concession since November 2018. Hard to compete against a state subsidized Conaf campground. In my opinion justified. Road noise a bit noticeable.

Process as described, exit fee for Belize is no BLZ 40 pp (30 departure fee, 7.50 environment fee and 2.5 border development fee)

the police arrived at dusk. communication was an issue, but basically they were saying this area was dangerous (drug related) and that the city was a better choice.

they thanked us for leaving. fantastic place to go for a swim during they day though!

Highly recommended. They do a great job to fix our leaking roof windows. They work fast, clean and perfect.

As described. Spent a wet and windy night here, there is some wind protection but I think you could find better closer to v. Cerro Castillo. Conaf guys passed in the evening and just asked if I was ok.

Very nice place to stop when on ruta 5. Quiet, well equiped, clean. Nice owners. Paid 10000 for 2 and a rooftop tent.

I would not call it a nice campground as the electricity at sites was not working. The toilets and showers are a bit ruined and dark (just replace the bulb, please), but clean. I agree that the lady is very nice and sweet. The lake is in 5 min walking distance. the gate is a bit more than 2,6 meters high and big rigs can enter by another barrier at the side of the camping. paid 10000 for 2 and rooftop tent.

Directly across from Entre Amigos. We had an incredible experience staying here! The owners, Teresa and Luis, were wonderful hosts. The camping area is on their property right above the river in a secure area. We paid 150 pesos per night and 60 pesos per person for each meal. The meals and their hospitality far surpassed our expectations. All the food was from their small farm/garden or locally sourced, the tortillas handmade fresh each day. There is enough room in the parking area for large recreational vehicles. Currently, they are building a dormitory for beds so camping is the only option for now. They have camping gear to rent if needed. The only downfall is that there is only one bathroom in the main house where they sleep, so after everyone goes to bed you have to find your own way. Showers are available by manually heating water in a bucket. If you are looking for an
authentic travel experience you must stay here!

A slight detour off the main road from Urique to Choix. The next gas station is either Urique or Choix. Cash only.

Very beautiful scenery. Not for 2WD, in my opinion. Nice warm shelter where you can cook and stay warm and dry. Unfortunately no warm shower for me: pipes broke last winter, they told me. If cycling/hiking you can avoid the river crossing by riding/walking 1Km loop and crossing a scary wooden bridge...

We are three people stay in five beds room with AC and cost us R 120. No include breakfast. The ower is very kind and approve us to use her kitchen in her restaurant. The hot shower is small and I suggest you to use your bucket to collect and then shower will be great. Secure parking, 220V are observed. Clean, quiet and beautiful ancient town here.

Restaurant/Bakery. Fast food and pastries pretty good and cheap. Wifi Ok, really nice staff

Always 5 soles per person to sleep and access to the baths. We were there on Saturday night, during holidays. Avoid putting the tent next to the family baths, there was noise all night long. The baths are open 24/24.

Nice place with trees, pretty quiet. We spent 1 night.
