patatesenvadrouille | Good spot but we couldn’t stay here ! Way too many “moucherons” (I don’t know how to say that in English, kind of small bugs), like hundreds of it that bited us. Tried to make a fire camp to make them go but it didn’t worked. Got us crazy so we left unfortunately |

Karl Wolf | Awesome campground (one of top 5 so far in Mexico and Belize) with a great grounds and owners. They do not have power at most of the sites (you might need a long extension cord to get to it) but they have plans to add it. Bathrooms are good but showers are cold. Unfortunately, there is nowhere to wash dishes and no grey water. But overall it's a convenient and great place to stay in San Ignacio and they have plans to continue to improve it, e.g., add additional showers, add power, add grey water, etc. over time so read the most recent reviews. |

facebook.com/mmmeaventures/ | We arrived with night fall at the temple, there was nobody. Some lights stay on so the place is not to creepy! We had a peaceful night slightly noisy from the road. In the morning few cars passed by just for the toilets and a guy came to clean the area but didn't talk to us. Lots of shade, European running toilets, water. Great place from Chiang Rai on the way to Laos border. |

facebook.com/mmmeaventures/ | Official place to camp in the national park. Free. You can almost park anywhere, we saw locals taking their car close to the river. You can swim where the hot waters from the springs meet the river (not the nicest hot springs but ok). Some lights stay on during the night. Lots of shade. Quiet and nice place.

leos.mastnik | The land owned by my father who is also a big overlander (1200gs) agreed to allow people come here. Place next to the forrest on a large meadow in summer with cows in winther with wild animals. Very remote place so Im sure nobody ever will come to you and you will feel safe and far from people. Its actually an old russian world war airport, but no no traces. Nice trails for bicycles and trekking in forrest yet forgotten by people. In case you need a water to drink, shower, toilet, swimmingpool, sauna or bottle of wine call me (+420725530234). If I’m around I will serve You! |

Chris Ratay | 4+ hour easy drive from Banjul, southern route, then north over new bridge at Soma, then east 1 hour to here. Camping is 250gmd pp, basic room is 350gmd pp, or 450 gmd pp with ensuite. Dinner is 250gmd, breakfast 100, plus drinks (even beer and wine). Power turned off around 3am until 7am. Mustafa and rest of the staff are very friendly. Lots of shade and hammocks to avoid the heat and chill out by the river. They also let us leave our Defender here while we visit park for a couple of days. |

Péssima, roupa de cama ruim, quarto ruim, Internet ruim. Café da manha inclui somente uma xicara de café e pão. Manteiga, queijo, frutas e sucos são cobrados a parte. Não recomendamos |

VESPANDA ILARIO | JUST TAKE NOTE: you are entering in Omo Valley, for sure one of the most interesting area in all africa but unfortunately the tour operators MAFIA probably will disturb your journey. In every town of the valley there are several tourist offices where hundreds of guys push to sell you their packages. They can be helpful, but for ones love travel alone, these operators are very annoying and can be aggressive (and to be honest I met two girls very frustrating for their guides, very unprofessional and expensive, by the way...). They pretend to bring you to the villages or even to the common markets, they will tell you it's the "low", and they will tell you that going alone can be dangerous (extremely false). At least they just pretend your money. For example you can go by yourself to see the "bull jumping" and pay 200 bir directly to the "chiff" of the village (as I did), or sleeping in a Hummer Village for 100 bir paying directly your host (as I did), or not paying anything for public markets. So up to you, if you prefer a guide no problem, but if you travel alone and you want to be free, prepare yourself to fight with this MAFIA. Yes, it's can be frustrating the Omo Valley for the overlanders. Olso because here, more than other parts of the world EVERYBODY WILL PRETEND TO CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING (and more compare with local people... be careful when you go to buy petrol at the black market). A part this, Omo Valley of course is a must if you visit Ethiopia. |
