good points are a nice site in Apple orchard and good wind protection, but significant drawbacks for campers. only one shower, 2 toilets and 1 sink for whole site, would be crowded when site busy, shower on cold side of tepid at best, only one table at site under cover so others would have to cook in tent in bad weather as no kitchen or room available to be under cover. owner does not allow clothes washing ( does not like site of hanging washing apparently, but the fact that they will do it for you for 12000 regardless if this is only one pair of socks may also be a reason)

Nice place to chill for a few days. I was told that camping was no longer allowed on the fields, but I can put my tent in a wooden cabana, which was great. I paid 10k per night. Nice staff and good vibe.

Really nice place right on the New River. Still BZD 30 per car. Good place for birding. Swimming is at your own risk though ;)

A very nice spot next to two rivers. Costs normally 13 Dollars per vehicle, but we were there while off season (october to may) and had nothing to pay. :)

came in a 2wd Ford e150 with no problems although weather was clear and dry. we arrived at 10.30am and bought tickets for the day and parking. after a nice day in the park, they let us camp overnight and use the bathrooms, showers, and we cooked on the tables in their shelter. there are a decent police presence who are very friendly and this was extra reassuring for us because the guy who was working for semuc champey overnight seemed a bit drunk and dodgy. that said, nothing bad happened. we think he just wanted to sell us sneaky beers and/or drugs. we re-entered the park at 6am the next morning before anyone else arrived and had the place to ourselves for 2 hours which was wonderful! they didn't charge us to re-enter or to camp, although camping should have cost 10per vehicle I believe.

if you're driving your vehicle on this bridge to semuc champey, be careful. the bridge has many missing planks that an entire wheel can fall through! if driving to semuc champey, veer to the right side of the bridge as much as possible. when driving away, stay left!

Cheap basic hostel in the center of town with very large rooms, we asked for a double and got a room with 4 beds! 10$ per night, average wifi, shared bathroom with not so hot shower, outdoor kitchen. Safe garage to lock our bikes.

Clean and more improvement to come. Friendly host.
300mxp seems expensive.
Some «sites» with sewer, water and 15amp electricity.
Wifi is good on the patio.
New washroom almost done. Cold shower. There will be hot water installed for the next season, she said.
Noisiest RV Park we’ve visited. Right by hwy15. Plan differently if you can.

Excellent place to see chimpanzees up close (between 3m and 5m away)! There are only 7 chimpanzees left in this area and IREB is trying to secure funding from aid sources to build the corridor between this part of forest with the other forests so that they can mate with other chimpanzee groups. A guided tour costs 500,000 GF (50 euros) per person as already mentioned and I think camping has gone up to 50,000 GF per person. We ended up paying 40,000 GF per person because we only took out the exact amount of money having looked on here, but the guy made us speak to the director of IREB on the phone who confirmed camping costs are now 50,000 GF per person. Lush grassy area to camp. Pit toilets and bucket showers. Our chimpanzee guided tour started at 7:30am and finished at 11:30am. We didn’t see them for ages and we lost hope, but luckily we found them on near ground level and were able to see them interact with one another for about 30 minutes. We got some excellent close up photos of them! Highly recommended!!

Sorry one last thing! We had 3 guides who worked really hard to find the chimps and we tipped them 20,000 GF each and also gave them some clothes and shoes we were wanting to donate to people who wanted them (we asked first and they seemed really pleased to take them!).

Chalets on the lodge side of the place are luxery and you can rent a chalet for 40 US dollars. Then you can use the lounge area, kitchen and fantastic swimming pool. Want to relax for a few days? This is the place to be. Very friendly staff.

This place is a bit different than the photos- they seem to have done a lot of work and landscaping and it’s really very nice- great pool, hot showers, hand wash laundry area, short collectivo to the ruins and a short walk to the amazing museum! The restaurant was very nice with live music each night- totally worth the 250p and dog friendly!

Did but see a restaurant or building at these coordinates. Searched the area a little more and still could not find it. Went back up the road north a couple hundred meters and found Comedor "El Paso" who let us camp free in there parking area after having dinner

We (4p) spent one night before & after the jungle tour and recommend it. At first sight the welcome felt a little bit cold, which was a wrong impression from our side. The lady was very friendly and helpful: she helped organising the jungle tour, dried our clothes that we washed ourselves, we could leave the car during the trip and after it we received 2 family rooms for the price of 1 double (as there were no doubles available anymore). She also kindly asked us to keep the volume down & to sit at the common area (hammocks included) since the other guests were earlybirds which we though was really attentful towards her guests.

The rooms are new and clean, family rooms have a large terrace. Breakfast is good, BBQ facilities available and there is a private access to the river.
The lady also told us they are planning to build a pool!
5min walk from the city center. Enough place to park your car.

As described by many others. Was a great spot to have after working/eating in the city. Quiet at night and bathrooms down the street.

Nos acomodamos para pasar la noche y la policía y seguridad del lugar nos aconsejaron que lo hiciéramos en la Pemex que esta en frente por seguridad. Pedimos permiso en la misma y no hubo problema. La noche fue bien tranquila.
