To much garbage everywhere, to much wind, not a lot of space to park... we thought this place was ugly and not worth it, we didn’t stay. If it’s not windy may be you can go down on the beach and pitch tent, it should me more nice

We really liked this place. It might be a bit run-down and the bathroom isnt the cleanest one but hot shower was great. Nice family, good location and great price (100 pp). Would stay there again

Beautiful hidden place we wouldn't have discovered if it wasn't for this app. Perfect for motorhomes, excellent grave road, close to the route, deafening silence. The views and trails like labyrinths are incredible. Must visit!

Amazing place to see Orcas hunting! We went to Punta Norte 5 times with high tide. Out of 5 high tides the Orcas came twice. Highly recommended, so amazing to see these animals!

Nico did it! When we told him that our additional diesel heating (Webasto) didn't work anymore, he said that he had never seen such a thing before. In spite of that he said he would have a look at it. We had outside temperatures around zero degrees during the nights and also during the day it was very cold and windy. So we needed the heating really urgently to prevent the water from turning to ice. And Nico did it! He studied the system, got a clue of its function very quickly, drove to an electrician to check the pump and to a shop to buy a new filter and in the end everything was working properly again. Best experience so far in South America. The fact that Nico speaks English decently made it all very easy for us.

There are a few beach parking lots which are great for staying overnight in the car. mostly white people live here, lots of surfers. Car park guard here, nobody bothered us, only friendly people. There are outside showers and toilets open 24/7, toilet paper there.

it is 35000 with breakfast. the owner was ok for 30000 (but we were alone)

An amazing set up as an sustainable centre, take the 500CFA tour it is very interesting. They are not really set up for camping but were prepared to let me and a big rig park up near their hotel and swimming pool for 3000CFA. Use of dorm ablutions, swimming pool 500CFA per day, WiFi (not very good) 500 CFA per day. Variety of restaurants on site, shop selling produce, copy/print phone credit shop all onsite. Staff very pleasant and a good place to stop before crossing.

Beautiful campground. Quite big but in winter season you wouldn’t say.. great facilities (water, electric and dump). Swimming pool, tennis courts, small shop, restaurant (limited). Town at 2km. Bus to and from. Many restaurants in town and fresh market (meat, fish and fruit and veggies). In summer too crowded but great other times of the year.

if driving from belize to Mexico, don't follow Google maps directions along this part of the northern highway. go through corozal instead. the road conditions on this part of the highway is littered with enormous potholes and will add significant time to your journey

That’s where you get free permit for camping in National Wildlife Refuge, which is 4,5 miles west, but they know about all kind of camping in the area. Maps available.

Nice little museum about fauna and wildlife in the Refuge.

Get your permit online, not at the Refuge office, even though they’ll be able to help you with all kinds of camping in the area.

My second time there. I like it. Huge area with shrubs in between roads and spots. Some wash to cross if you want to go farther.

Hard to find without GPS since there’s no sign for turnoff.

Cute primitive camping. 4 sites, max 5 people per site, $12. First come first served. Self register.
Clean pit toilet and many trash cans.
Probably popular : went there at 10am and it was full. Did the hike and left.

Situated at trailhead = some traffic.

Made it out here in a 2WD sprinter van and Honda Civic. Wouldn’t suggest if it’s been rainy anytime recently. Great spot near the lake for some off grid camping. Cell service was not great. Drive down to water is 30 mins or more on the bumpy road.

We were here at 2pm and Sandra, the women who sells Soat wasn’t here.
We wanted to buy at the Caja Arequipa but the women said us that it’s now impossible to sell insurance at foreigners.
So we went back to the aduana and explained us at the guy, who let us pass.

Great Place. Clean and good tasting water. Local police made rounds but gave me no trouble. Was cold with the north wind as there is no protection from the wind as it comes in over the water.

Amazing place! We were just going to overnight before crossing into Guatemala but stayed for two. 50p a vehicle and 100p for a palapa at the last spot by the water on the road before you get to the ruins. Jorge was very kind, clean bucket toilets, and very well maintained place. His cabanas looked great too. The ruins are about a 15 minute walk and the falls about 30, both are fun! After three months in Mexico this might’ve been one of my favorite places!!!
