Description

Large parking at Villa San Pedro, 2 km before El Cañi (coming from Pucon). Quite level, mostly grass. Near the road but far enough to sleep, cars pass during the day, very quiet at night. There’s a path to the river where a small van could fit.

There’s also a faucet with potable water nearby (just next to a bus stop sign, near the tourist information booth and a small playground).

We saw an old train wagon that apparently serves food when open (there’s a couple of tables too). Behind it there’s a WC booth (closed in June). Perfect free wild camp spot before El Cañi trekkings.

A bit close from the road, but nice place to spend the night. River down the small road. Very quiet at night. We arrive late and saw no one, in the morning as we were going to leave, the mayor (!) stopped and asked us if we spend the night here. She said that's it's ok to park during the day, but not for the night... We had no trouble and left.

This is the second time we stayed at this spot. Not much traffic on this road, so we stayed on the grass near the benches, closest to the bridge. You might even be completely out of sight of the road if you follow the track in the corner down to the river.

The playground has been replaced with fitness equipment, the toilet, train wagon and kiosk are closed and the water near the bus stop is shut off, but the river water looked clean enough to wash our dishes.

Cozy parking lot to spend a night. Everything very well levelled, perfect for our 4x2 van. It is next to a small restaurant in a train wagon, they had some very nice papas fritas for 1.200 pesos. Aslo the lady offered use the toilet till 10PM
