This place seems to have changed the owner and, according to a lady in a shop just next to it, it is now permanently closed. Maybe it will reopen in the future.

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

The Elephants Nest in it's current location is officially closed. It was an honour to be the last guest to leave the iconic overlanders destination. Chloe the owner will update with the new location when it's ready for guests.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately, this nice place had to close at the end of November 22 :(

Report Check-In

It was a great place to stay in the Abidjan region with the great chances to meet other travellers. Unfortunately, it had to close down at the end of November :(

We stayed there in our car not in the room. Everything writed here still true. Chloe is friendly and helps a lot. Patrick is a lovely and helpfull boy.
6000 CFA for a night with toilets and shower

Report Check-In

A big house with a nice garden. Lots of different accommodation options from air-con rooms, fan rooms, tent camping and car camping. AC worked great and the room was very clean and had plenty of light. Bathroom and showers were also clean and worked properly.

If you suspect you might have malaria or some other illness, there is a neighborhood clinic with in stumbling distance.

Chloe, the owner is lovely and super helpful. Her son Patrick is also great. There are a few cats and dogs, all are well behaved and are not aggressive.

The place is quite far from Abidjan, so something to consider to if you need to go into the city often. With Yango (taxi app) it's easy to get around, just avoid the rush hours.

民宿的位置非常好,离市场不远,附近可以买到各种食物;附近的当地人同样非常友好,会给我打招呼,非常安全;Chloe 非常热心,也非常友好的一个人;因为新冠,我在她家住了5个月,5个月对我来说没有任何不适,因为我本来就很宅;偶尔chloe会带我们去阿比让,如果我们遇到一些麻烦,她也会尽力帮助我们;非常感谢,希望你一切安好;
因为我是骑行的,当我离开时,航空公司变卦不让我的自行车托运,没办法我只能把自行车留在科特迪瓦;后面chloe帮我把自行车陆路送了过来,再次感谢;
Very nice place. Quiet and peace . Sometime I went to beach to watched the sunset. Lovely view. I'm very happy stay with Chloe. She is nice person I never met. Help me a lot. And thanks for everything her done. Wish her all the best. I will miss you everybody. Hope see you next time.

Report Check-In

This guest house is definitely one of the best places I've ever stayed! Chloe the owner is very kind and lovely. They've got many adorable companions which are 3 dogs and 3 cats!

I stayed here for 2 weeks and enjoyed a lot. The place is very quite, clean and well organised. They've got single rooms, double rooms as well as dorm rooms. Not every room has an air conditioner but you would sleep comfortably only with a fan(or you also can get a private room with A/C)

Small corner shops are in walking distance and a supermarket is about 2km away. Security is excellent and you wouldn't have to worry about it at all. They've also got a table tennis as well as a table football that would bring you a lot of fun.

I've stayed here during Covid lockdown so there were only 2 guests including me but this place used to be quite crowded with many travellers.

This guesthouse is located next to a peaceful lagoon and pretty far from Abidjan city. If you want some peaceful stays in a quite area this would be your best choice in Abidjan region!
If you want to see more about it watch this amazing video of guesthouse,

I'd definitely give 5+ stars to this guesthouse :D

The Elehants Bests was our safe place when Westafrica went into lockdown becuase of covid-19. Chloe managed everything with amazing foresightfulness. She cared for everybody and everything and kept her humor! Even after we left she didn't stop helping us to get our truck shipped! Chapeau Madame Grant! We owe you! Good place to come back in better times. We hope we will manage one day in near future!

Report Check-In

We stayed 3 nights at this wonderfull place. It felt like we stayed way longer... in the positive sense that is. Chloe, Patrick, the team, the dogs and fluffy Wifi all make you really feel welcome straight away. We parked the motorbikes on the grounds, opted for one of the rooms, kicked back and enjoyed beers and the company.

Report Check-In

Lovely place to relax and unwind after being on the road for a while. Beautiful house with comfy rooms with AC, a dormitory, and spacious garden for tents/big vehicles. Also good staff, delicious food, and two friendly dogs. Easy and fairly quick to go Abidjan or Assinie. If you come by public transportation: go to Gare de Bassam in Abidjan, once arrived in GB ask for ‘Moussou Deux’ a côte d’eglise catholique. It’s the pink house on the right side of the church (no sign). The middle gate has a bell!

Report Check-In

This place is in the wrong location, but I'm not sure where it is!

Report Check-In

This place is a must stop and famous beyond iOverlander. Chloe is every overlander's guardian in West Africa.

Don't worry about the distance to Abidjan. The city is easily accessible due to the new, big and low traffic road from Grand Bassam to Abidjan. Plus, it's nice to retreat home after a day in the city.

Report Check-In

The Elephants Nests is next to the Catholic church, a pink coloured wall with 3 sets of brown gates.
The pedestrian gate is currently the one next to Maquis O'Sable.
The middle gate has a bell which is normally answered by the team.
The double gates for vehicle entry next to the church's walled garden.
There is no sign!

Report Check-In

I would recommend this place to every West Africa Traveller. It is a good place to calm down, organize some repairs on the car or just meet some travellers. The Staff is lovely and Chloe the owner is incredibly helpful.

Report Check-In

Had the most wonderful stay at the Elephant’s Nest. Place is as described. Pitched my tent for 3000 CFA per night. Dorms, doubles rooms w fan or a/c available. Also plenty of secure space to park vans and rigs.

Chloe and the staff were the most wonderful hosts. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Laundry also available. A great place to relax and recharge the batteries before heading back out on the road. Also a short trip (20 mins) to Abidjan to organise visas for onward travel.

10/10 would recommend. Felt like home for 3 weeks here.

Report Check-In

The Elephants Nest is a true home from home. I spent 12 days there waiting for a flight from ABIDJAN. The staff were excellent and really looked after me, Chloe is a star and knows her way around Africa, the beach in Grand Bissam has good food and a cooling breeze. The Elephants Nest has room for Overland Vehicles, and tents and has a good range of clean and well appointed rooms at sensible prices, this place is a ‘must visit’ to meet other travellers and recharge your batteries when travelling through West Africa.

Report Check-In

The Elephants Nest is the perfect place to stay if you don’t want to be in stressy Abidjan but do have some business there, like Ghana visa or whatever. We stayed in our rooftent in the parking lot which was more than fine.
It’s very clean, staff is very nice and helpful, beer is cold and cheap.
And if there is anything you need sorted in West Africa you are definitely at the right place as Cloe, the owner, knows everything about it. From visa’s, customs, health issues, you name it, this is your place to be!
Oh and restaurants and beaches nearby, which is also a plus...!

Report Check-In

.... You'll appreciate the service with washing machin. Nice shower and toilets.
À lot of possibility to eat some good foods and cheap's cold beer, at Elzpha t Ness or right next to this place.
We stayed there for 7 days, like in friend's house.
Not so hylghy recommanded, but "incontournable".

Report Check-In

Un stop incontournable sur la route d'Afrique du Sud ou tout simplement pour visiter Abidjan et ses environs.
The situation is so well, near the beach, not in the tumult of the city.
Very quiet et relax place.
Nice place, nice staff and we meet Chloé.... Just for it, you have to stop there.
For sure, you'll meet other overlander, and it's quickly "apéritif" time🍻🥂🥤

Report Check-In

We spent 3 days here, it was awesome. Made to feel perfectly at home, our favourite place to stay so far. The whole family are lovely, we were invited to hang out on the beach with them and Chloe did a top job of showing us some of the local bars (and sharing her extensive knowledge of West Africa).

Pealgie helped us clear our mountain of laundry (3000cfa per load, they have a washing machine) and we loved the bar next door (Willie sells big beers for 500cfa and even opened up early so we could watch the rugby on his TV).

Load of space to park, clean loos and showers and lots of lovely area to sit and relax. The road outside is full of little bars and streetfood and thus a great place to explore.

Our only regret is not heading there earlier, it's so close exploring Abidjan would be easy to do from there (we had already spent a lot of time in the city - it was stressful finding. good spot to stay in the city). You could easily park here and head back to the city during the day, we would definitely do this next time!

Arrived late afternoon, beer time with Chloe and many of her friends.
Went out around 11pm. After few drinks of Vodka.l, Luckily found the way back next morning.
Next day, 11am, beer time again at the riverside 20 meters away.
This is a truly overlanders’ pub.
Highly recommended, if you are willing to get drunk and fiestas after long haul journey through jungles.

Report Check-In

This place is fantastic! beautiful big house right on the lagoon, maquis in abundance just over the road.
rare good spot to meet other travellers.
there's space to camp/park/rooms available. when I was here the owner Chloe, (lovely lady, couldbt be anymore helpful and accommodating), was in the process of really getting the place going. by the time you're reading this there's likely a table tennis table here!
had a great time here. really recommend the place.

Report Check-In

We love to be here. You can come by mobilehome/caravan/Motorbike with a tent or you can get a room.
We think everyone who travels through Africa has to visit the Elephant’s Nest! Here you will find people for exchange, help or just a talk from all over the world.

Report Check-In

Nice place to take a rest for a while. There is a bar 20m away from the site. I could enjoy nice view of lagoon and cool and pleasant breeze. A beer is 500 cfa.

The nest is like home. There are always another travelers to share the fun with. The terrace and the balcony are nice to hang around together with other travellers. Staffs are so friendly and eager to take care of you. (Thanks Flagio, Yanique, Touma.) I suffered from malaria symtoms and I got a lot of help from them while I had medical treatment.

The Chloe Grant - famous person among the west Africa travelers - is travel consulting expert. She can help you from getting visas to setting routes for the travel through west Africa. Also she knows everything about the area. No matter what your question is, she can answer and will help you.

I recommend this place for the travelers who wants to relax for a while.

Nothing go add!
This place will be the traveller meeting point in Ivory Coast in the coming years. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am thankful for all the help I received.
The best cat in the world is also living there!

I recommend this place very much.

Report Check-In

A proper home away from home and a great place for overlanders to rest and recharge the batteries (literally and metaphorically). It’s on a quiet, pleasant street on outskirts of Bassam, very easy and cheap to get to the town centre or the beach as share taxis go past the house every couple of minutes and always charge 200 CFA pp. Chloe who runs the place is fantastic, she has lived in the region for years and is a fountain of knowledge and contacts which she is very happy to share. Prices are 3000 CFA for camping, 5000 for a dorm and rooms with/ without AC start at 12000. There is also a washing machine! Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

New not yet fully open place nearby Abidjan right next to the street to Ghana border. Fits well for everybody on the road, be it backpackers or Overlanders small and big. Space to pitch your tent as well as several places to park your car and of course private rooms and a planned dorm. Big rigs also possible. Chloe, the Irish founder of The Nest, has huge knowledge of Africa, its borders, specialities and culture and can give advice to nearly every problem a traveller can run into. She runs even her own West Africa Travellers group on facebook.
Shower and toilet are clean and working. 2 min by feet at the Lagoon you find plenty of Maquis which provide good value for money. Sitting at the huge terrace in the backyard at a long table makes you feel at home. This will become a great place for travellers to stay. Wanted to stay 3 days, have finally been there 12....

Look up The Elephant's Nests at facebook for contact details and more information.
