Description

Moderator Note - Duplicate entry because Backpackers is a Hostel AND an informal campground.
By far the most popular place for overlanders to stop in Lima. Room for 3-4 cars in the parking area, which is also part of the common area. You can tent camp on the pavement, but we opted not to because space was a problem and it can be fairly loud at night. We got a room instead. Good kitchen and a grill,Continental breakfast included. Big rigs will fit, but best to make a reservation to make sure there is space.

The phone number is out of service and according to the sister hostel in Cusco this place is permanently closed.

Place is cool. Nice rooms and staff. Van overlanders and bikers use this place as it is walking distance to many shops and the malecon.
WiFi is really shit for a place right in the centre of town.

Did not spend the night here, so can't give a full review. We checked out again because our double room with bathroom was dark with only one window facing directly at a wall, smelled strongly of wax and wasn't too nice.
Went to the "Inkawasi" hotel closer to the sea and were happy.

Great place for overlanders, backpackers and travelers in general. Much space for cars, vans and bikes. Very nice staff, clean and lovely place. Enjoyed my stay there very much and stood longer than planned. Definitely a recommendation.

Really nice area around the hostel and the hostel itself is really nice too.
Prices are moderate, staff is friendly, you can meet a lot of people here.
Good parking, especially if you're with a motorcycle.

My best stay in Lima.

Not for real Big Rigs, maybe if you allone. Otherwise not at all.
To all VW California Campers Please notice that you are not a Big Rig!

The advantages are the price: 20 soles for parking inside, sleeping in your camper, wifi, bathroom and kitchen. The disadvantage: pretty noisy until 3-4 am, since the communal area is right next to the parking space.

Great Overlander vibe. They know what traveler's like, fast wifi, hot showers, clean community kitchen, secure parking, friendly and excellent location.
