Good sized gravel parking spot halfway up Fish Lake Road. Cool view of downtown at night. No signs. Could get a big rig turned around in here. Slight slope not totally level. Very quiet. Apparently could stay at Fish Lake trailhead too but this place was fine for one night for me. August 2022: We got a reasonable phone signal which for the Yukon was a miracle!!

We stayed here for around 36hours and it was great. Height gives nice views of Whitehorse and it was quiet overnight. Quite a few cars passing on the road during the day. We were alone overnight. Lovely spot to rest up. Yes some rubbish, crazy when there are bins available but still lovely spot.
Report Check-InJust like everyone says. Just be sure to set your parking brake to avoid unhappy endings. If you suss it out just right, there is one spot near the top where you can alllmost get level. Saturday night, light rain, 11 pm, nobody else is here. Road is steep but totally fine for any vehicle. 2 bars 4G on a Verizon phone (so no idea whether I'm on Telus, Bell, etc).
Edit: another vehicle pulled up around 11:30. Was some coming and going in the night, including a car alarm that went off for a few minutes in the wee hours. Overall, still a solid spot if you need something free, low effort, and right near town.
Large place just outside city limits (sign) that seems well used (graffiti, small pieces of garbage, power-drift circles). Windy and dusty, and very visible from the busy unsealed road. The advantages: close to the city and few insects. No other campers on this Monday evening.
Report Check-InGood spot for camping. We got in late and all the campgrounds were full. This spot is out of the city limits and camping is allowed. Dirt parking area a few miles back on a gravel/dirt packed road. Had it all to ourselves tonight. Evidence of fire rings from campers past. Spot for throwing trash. Good Mountain View.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for one night. The sunset was stunning - so a lot of locals came around. During night it was quite. In the morning a few car’s passing the spot. As mentioned it isn’t perfect flat.
Report Check-InGood spot for a night but it’s a huge gravel area just off the road so there is no privacy. Nice view of Whitehorse.
Report Check-InNice views but not at all quiet. Locals coming and going all night. Hunters, fishermen, people with boats on trailers heading to the lake. Groups meeting up for midnight sun drinks. A surprising amount of cars driving past on the road.
