Latest Check-Ins

As described. On a main gravel road so there was a few vehicles driveling by in the early evening. There was a nice spot to put a tent in the woods down a short trail if you need that we showed up around 5. On Saturday night and it was open.

Great spot, quiet, small pond off the back with short trail. road condition was great. 2wd is fine. A few low branches for our tall 40 ft fifth wheel. A few turns are angled weird but luckily we didn't rub the camper on the box. If you don't have much box/fifth wheel clearance you might rub. The spot has a turn around, but not for large rig, we will be backing out. A few more nice spots by the next lake. Rock fire pit.

Good spot, big rig frendly ish, we got our 40 ft fifth wheel in, some low branches, a few turns are angled down so if you don't have much clearance between the box and fifth wheel it could rub. We got in ok. road condition is very good 2wd would ve fine. Beautiful with the fall colors. A few more spots available by the next lake also. Shaded with rock fire rings. Small pond at the back with small trail to get there.

Report Check-In

Site is as noted. Quiet, level, circular pull through. A couple of fire rings. However, we could not find the site using the published GPS coordinates. We ended up about 11 miles NW using them. Google maps got us here fine for a change. There are no signs indicating HNF anywhere on the way in here. The site is off of a dirt road. No amenities at all. We stayed 1 night.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Came back from a short walk to the pond covered in ticks, though.

Two bars Verizon.

Report Check-In

Site was as described. Very quiet and enjoyable.

Report Check-In

Nice little spot with just a bit of gravel and a circle pull through and a fire ring. There’s a little mossy pond down a path. Some spent shell casing around the fire pit but someone left split firewood and some kindling in the fire pit. 3 bars of T-Mobile service

Report Check-In

We stayed here last night. There was a little bit of trash left behind from others but overall a nice place to stay. The pond/lake was pretty mossy but was still pretty. Only seen one other car pass by all day.

A beautiful spot! Secluded, trail access, fire ring, peaceful pond as mentioned. A bit of trash left by previous campers, but it didn’t ruin the experience. Our 2WD van was totally fine on the roads.

Nice quiet area. There are a couple of other spots on the dead end of Sundance Main FS road if you don't turn into the Sundance Pond road.

Report Check-In

Great little spot for an overnight. No problems accessing it in our 2WD sprinter. No amenities. Spotty cell service on ATT. FREE!

1.5 miles off a gravel road if your traveling west. Trees in the loop are large and sappy if your thinking hammocks.
Forrest trails surrounding are short/ full of poison ivy (wear boots). Pond looks great once you walk to the other side of it.
You can hear cars passing by in the distance along with other mechanical sound effects.
My phone still works here, that’s a plus.

Report Check-In

Nice spot out in the woods for an overnight or longer depending what you like or want to do. There are a couple stone fire pits within the loop, enough room for several vehicles depending if you're all moving at once (one way loop really).

A bit of trash in the area, some near the fire pit, some in the surrounding bush. We'll clean up a bit of what was left here before we leave.

Pond is just down a short trail. Could probably fish it if there's anything in it. Otherwise Sundance Lake (last photo, stocked with fish) is a short couple minute walk/ride further down the road.

Heavy rains can make the whole area a bit mucky. Sundance Lake is a little flooded today, some of the walkways/piers are underwater.
