Casita Rio Indio is a marvelous place where you can rent cabañas and also camp in a van.
As they do more rental, it’s good to get in contact before coming (507)6650-6634 (507)6807-3193 (507)6521-5331.
They speak Spanish French German and English.
About the camp site: cold showers/wc, kitchen.
You camp along a small river at the entry of the jungle. Amazing spot for animals: monkeys (3 different kind of monkeys seen in less than 24h!) toucans (2 types!), white eagles, slots, butterflies, lezards, caimans, turtles, frogs...
If you want to discover more than what lives just in front of your windows, ask Pascal for a trail in the jungle (from 2 hours to 5 hours tours!)
You can also join the beach by horse. You can do a tour at night to discover the nocturnal fauna.

Casita Rio Indio is really a very nice spot to stop by. We went there for a week during our waiting time for our car shipment and it was just perfect for a Start in a totally new environment. It’s a small family owned business from super nice French expats, who are living here since 10-25 years. Pascal is offering jungle tours, where he shares all of his knowledge about interesting and dangerous animals, wich provided us a certain feeling of security in this, compared to Europe, quite exciting and yet way more dangerous environment. If you’re interested, he tells you all about what you should take care of, where to find what and what you shouldn’t do alone. Super interesting. As well, the casita provides nice cabañas with jungle vies and wild animals all around, nice spots to park you car, WiFi and fresh jungle water. We loved our stay here and Pascal is after some dinners together and sharing a bunch of stories, more a friend than a host. We would always come back!
