Description

Hard to find this place as there is no sign outside but it has big black gates on the right side of the alley or find it on Maps.me.

S10 for a bed, informal parking next door for S5 per night or free in the alley if you can find a spot. Pet friendly. Wifi is good, but it is hard to connect to the router.

Good atmosphere, friendly owner, a lot of pot being smoked. Free from rich 20-years old kids. Good'ol style place.

Basic hostel, nice vibes. I stayed a couple of days to relax and rest.

15 soles for a dorm bed. Bicycle friendly, they can stay safely inside the communal area.

WiFi works but not the best.

This is a traveler's hostal. Probably best hostal in 8 months cycling. 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms, free games and tea, tables and chairs outside to chill with the travelers, great WiFi. I hope you will meet Johanna and David who are managing the place now, they are awesome hosts (soon they'll take back their bicycles to travel). They let us invite ppl to come and share dinner. We wanted to stay 2 nights, ended up staying 5. Met a lot of cool travelers from around the world.
40s/night for two in one room with 2 beds.

We stayed here 5 nights, super chill, one of our favorite hostels ever. We paid 30 soles for a private room with two people. Great kitchen, very friendly

Basic hostel where you can sleep in your car in a dirty alley where there are an auto electrician and 2 other workshops. Busses coming in and out. Not great but you are in the middle off the busines centre of Huaraz so good to buy stuff and get work done on your vehicle. See photograph.

Fantastic hostel if you like a cool chill place. Not fancy. Feels like home. lots of cool travellers here.
20 Sol's per person per night

owner is lovely
super sweet

Still a lovely place. Was here a few years ago. The owner is still a sweetheart, dorms are now 15 and the one bed private room is 20. Good hot water, wifi and clean kitchen. Always a few interesting characters about and lovely to chill after cycling the divide.

Cool, chill place. Owner is friendly and generally cool people stay here. when the water hasn't run out of gas, it's definitely a hot shower! highly recommend staying.

Report Check-In

Everything right, and definitely recommended.

Report Check-In

Yep, still 10 soles and just as described in the other comments.

we stayed there one week. really good atmosphere. the place is clean. hot showers. the lady who owns the place is super nice and makes amazing cakes. possibility to park at the mechanic for 5 soles 24 hours.

Price: 10 soles ppn. if there is enough place you will have the your own bedroom for the same price.

Very good hostel, bike friendly, 10 soles, it's like a big house, 2 kitchen, very hot shower, wifi average, many places to eat with/out sun, places to dry laundry, 1 place with computador, 2 chillout with TV. The owner make and sell really good chocolate cake

- hippies smoking pot and playing music
- kitchen
- 10soles for dorm bed
- parked my van in mechanic next door for 5soles per night.
- convenient location
- cheapest option overall if you have a car/van
- toilets are clean. kitchen not very clean

Report Check-In

Also! You should try her delicious cakes. Organic and only 3 Soles 😋

Really great stay here. I was feeling ill so I treated myself to a bed for two nights and my partner slept in the truck in the alley(I think we were lucky to find a spot but it's doable). Because of the economic value, this place attracts a lot of mountaineers that keep their bed while they frolic in the great outdoors which makes for less people in your room than expected normally. Clean bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, nice common areas.
You'll know if this place suits you from the previous comments I suppose but enjoy!

Report Check-In

As described. Pot being smoked. 10 soles per person and I kept my bicycle in the yard. already there were 10 more. one of the best hot showers in a while. but if it rains you get significantly less space where to hang out.

Report Check-In

stinky hippies playing guitar. for real.
BTW, thanks for all the other check-ins not giving a better description of the location.

Down the alley, black gates on right just before the mechanic shop. It's also on Maps.me.
(not so hard now was it)

I would check out Hatun Wasi first, for s5 more you can stay in an adult place.

As said : nice, clean and cheap and the owner is super friendly !
I think you can park 2-3 motorcycles.

Report Check-In

For 10 soles per night (no matter you are in a dorm or a private room), the deal is pretty great.
We stayed there for more than a week, we negotiate with the garage next door to keep our car for one week for 50 soles. Then we could grab collectivos to go to the trailheads and hike around Huaraz.

Report Check-In

This place is as described. 10soles a night for a bed in a room with 3 beds. Warm showers, clean bathrooms and great wifi connection. Many people playing guitar during the day. The owner is really nice and helpful. Extremely great value for money...I arrived at 6am with my bicycle and wasn't a problem for me to enter the premises and chill on the couch til my bed was ready

Report Check-In

Nice place. Super cheap, clean, hot showers, kitchen, fast wifi available all over... really the perfect hostel. There's parking inside-inside for one smaller motorbike, but there's also a parking lot/mechanics right next door that should hold any vehicle.

Clientele includes a lot of stoner hippies, but also lots of people in Peru to do hiking and climbing.

Report Check-In

Good and cheap backpacker hostel, very friendly people. They also have a few double rooms, for 10S pp as well. There ar ea lot of hippie-travellers in the hostel, guitar-playing until late and some of them seem to shower far less often than recommendable. The place is pretty clean however.

Report Check-In

rooms are clean and tidy, hot water but during oour stay it was full of young misbehaving junkies. not that we are much older but at least we have respect for other.

Report Check-In

We could park 2 bikes in the small courtyard. Simple but clean and very friendly.
