A lovely 14km hike from Colonia Suiza. In good weather should take 4 hours each way, depending on fitness. Refugio has beer and food, and you can stay overnight (byo sleeping bag). You hike two hours along the river and then climb 'the snail' to the top. We went during the spring melt and the cascadas were gorgeous. We returned to Colonia Suiza same day, and it took about 10 hours with a good stop at the top. This is a popular hike out of Bariloche.

This is also the start for 5 Lagunas (5 day hike). The trail goes around laguna negra and traverses through many mountain peaks.
beautiful hike! first part is easy till the camping place after is harder with a good uphill ! My gps said only 10kms and it took us 2h45 to go up but we were light. only small back pack for the day.
Report Check-InReally good hike to do while in Colonia Suiza. We recommend walking beyond the refugio to the ridge (follow the track towards Refugio Lopez) where you get incredible views - add another hour or so each way. The pizza at Refugio Italia looks incredible !!
