Description

Follow signs to Kifi Fisheries from main road just before reaching Mahango national park main gate. Turn left 100m in front of the Kifi Fisheries gate and you reach this lake in 50m. Not sure if this lake is permanent or just in rainy season. Elephants called in and drank before leaving. Lovely experience. We stayed three nights, the elephants visited two nights at sunset, and at 02:30 on third night.

Perfect spot to camp and then visit national park next morning.

No shade and plenty of insects in the evening (as always the case near water).

Completely undisturbed.

Wonderful birdlife around lake.

We really liked this camp spot and hope you do too.

Quiet camping spot, only birds and hippo sounds. We weren’t as much impressed by the scenery as the other reviews though.

We stayed here for 10 days. A very beautiful, quiet area, also not far from the NP.
People are super cute and nice in this region. No one bothered us.

Stunning spot by the lake. Easy to find on established roads.

Good spot, finally undisturbed. We drove and parked across the lake because there was a lot of cows and couple of herders at the original spot. Great MTC connection. There are villagers who walked by and said hello but no one bothered us or asked for food or sweets. Plenty of trees across the lake to find some shade. Great bird watching and waking up to a lot of bird song
