Description

Down a gravel road the first two or three spots accessible with 2 wheel drive (we drove our 2500 sprinter down) after that I recommend 4x4. So quiet and peaceful! We stayed for three nights and four days! Didn’t see anyone after the weekend. Feels awesome to put up a brand new tag on iOverlander! Enjoy and leave no trace!

Really nice spot with beautiful sunrise view. Not too far from Vegas but far enough to get away from others. Lots of space out here and had three bars of service (ATT), some areas with two bars. Spot I stayed at was close to the road and had a fire pit. There was one other vehicle here when I arrived farther up the mountain (they had their lights on, but felt pretty safe. No coyotes but did hear lots of laughing from donkeys. Will definitely come back to this spot if I’m in the area again.

I camped about a mile back from where is marked. It gets pretty dicey over a wash area for a few hundred feet that would definitely require HC and maybe 4wd, after that it smooths out again. There was a skoolie parked right before that section, and a suburban right after. I got in around 8:30p and felt super safe staying in my car (I heard some distant coyotes & was glad i’m not not in a tent). Great nights sleep, kind of windy but not terrible (probably 5-10mph). Beautiful spot with Joshua Trees and mountains all around. You might be able to see the city from a spot further back but it was blocked by a mountain from where I was. Pretty bright as night from the city lights but in a good way. Helps to feel safe. I’d stay here again, maybe even for a few days. I believe there is a 14 day limit but should be good apart from that. *GREAT AT&T SERVICE*

Fine flat places to park. Several along road. Good cell service.

Great spot just off the road. A little bit of road noise but not bad. Amazing view down the valley.
If you stay please clean up after yourself. Also note, there is a Bulldog roaming free, not sure if someone abandoned him or not. He came into our area then ran off. We did find a bowl of water someone put out. He wasn’t aggressive just seemed scared. Felt bad for him so we left some food up the road away from the parking spots.

We pulled in here after Dark and just stayed by the entrance since we were pulling a 24-ft trailer and weren't sure what we were getting into. This area may have been closed previously due to flood waters but is open now. It was good at night but come morning be warned at least when we were there there were numerous gravel trucks descending from the mountain using their engine brakes and it was quite noisy. We were awake by then but if u sleep in keep this in mind. We would stay again. Good cell service and spectacular views.

Currently closed because of flash flooding from hurricane Hillary, police barricade blocking road

Great spot to pull off and stargaze. Nice and clean. Can’t wait to go back and throw up the tent! Leave no trace!

We are pretty deep down this road...5th or 6th parking area. We were fine in 2WD. Beautiful red sunset over the mountains, surrounded by Joshua Trees. No one else out here tonight that we’ve seen. (Full size mattress close to our site. 😲)

I pulled into this place after dark last night. Woke up to beautiful views in a small Joshua tree forest! I have a 22 foot rig and I’m glad I didn’t go past the second parking lot. A camper near me, in a sprinter van, said she got stuck back there for three days.

Primitive spot just off the main road. Contains rock ringed fire pits. Some trash and not level but decent for one night.

This place is closed. The sign says “no entry burned area”. I will post a picture as well. There is one place to stay right before the sign on the side of the road but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s right next to the road and the road is pretty busy. There was more than 30 cars that passed by before 630 am.

Found a flattish spot a way up Deer Creek Rd. 4x4/high clearance was helpful to make it out.

Down a gravel road. About 3 spots not too far back, apparently there are further spots accessible with 4wd but we didn’t go back further. Found a nice spot down the road surrounded by Joshua trees and beautiful views of the mountains. It looked like there was a man made fire out but we didn’t have a fire. Stayed one night but would stay more!

Joshua trees galore!!! Nice, quiet and dark. Several spots for folks scattered about. The cold wind draining off the mountain was a bit much for us so left after one day but with a nice warm camper you should be golden!

Report Check-In

Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, surrounded by Joshua trees. Spot is on National Recreation Area land. Several pullouts with decent privacy. A great place to stay for the night, only 30mins from Vegas. Good Google Fi cell coverage. No amenities. Road to the first couple spots is 2WDLC.
