Absolutely beautiful location right on Trinity Lake. The lake is almost full this year so great time to visit. No services pack it in pack it out. Dirt road down to lake a bit steep and big ruts from winter when it was wet and large trucks dug the ruts but easily doable. I have 4x4 but did not use it.

Report Check-In

VERY MUDDY AFTER RAIN, 4x4 recommend if wet. Went out to scope out a spot next to river and got stuck in mud 20 feet into the area right when we were going to turn around. Would have been a great spot to camp otherwise.

A little hard to find at night, I wasn't sure if I was in the right spot, but I found a nice level place right next to the river.... yeah river, I guess in late April the lake still wasn't filled up. There was one other van, but they were so far away I could hardly see them, otherwise I had the place to myself. Absolutely beautiful. I would love to come back in summer when it's a lake and check it out again.

Most of the national forest is still closed because of extreme fire danger, which makes it very hard to find a place to boondock. Thank you to iOverlander for helping me find this place! If it weren't for all the toilet paper all over the place, this would be a great spot.

The lake is way down. I can't even see it from this spot. A half mile hike gets to the Bowerman Boat Ramp, which is high and dry, but the end of the lake is nearby.

Up here where the GPS spot on the map is, there are a few places to camp. It's not flat or level, but with my ramps, I was able to level out my 24' motorhome. There are two roads in; the one on the right (lower) is an easier drive. A little farther down, there are some huge ruts that probably only a 4WD could get through.

However, you can also drive down to the lakebed and camp down there. It's exposed, but there are lots of flat and level spots there. You could also drive down the Bowerman Boat Ramp and do the same thing.

Great spot, secluded. There are fire rings and a spring nearby. If you keep going, you’ll hit a lake

This is definitely worth the drive. I’m in the middle of center with the forest surrounding me. I get to see everything from below. The water is perfect flow. My dogs love it.

I brought my pop up camper and found a couple ways to My spot. I recommend trucks and AWD/4WD just in case you want to go closer to the lake. I can see the lake from where I’m at.

Terrain changes so be mindful. Some solid ground some soft sand, some dirt mud. Not sure how it would be with it wet down here. Def wouldn’t come down here without a lift and awd/4wd in winter.

My pop up trailer did fantastic. It was first time taking it down small/med bumps but it did great! No issues.

Once you get off HWY3 and on to the dirt path, just follow the little marker on the overlander. You’ll see a dirt road with two direct ways. The one that drops into the center is a bit steep but the other was perfect. Got a bit bumpy but zig zag and you won’t scrap your bottom. Worked great with trailer too.
No service for tmobile.

Wow, what a place . Very secluded but but an amazing area.

Report Check-In

As described. It’s a dirt boat launch area with lots of wild camping spots along the lake/ along the tree line. *we went during the covid 19 shelter in place. There was hardly anyone around. Lots of dry branches lying around for fire. *get a campfire permit for free from the USDA forest service website.
