Nice flat very clean desert land very good for tent small and big rigs. Used entrance on W Old Ajo Hwy near Fire station nicer flat. Just better and quiet for us. Good tv with antenna and Verizon internet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great spot. Lots of campers. Verizon 1 bar service. Great sunset. Felt safe.
Report Check-InSoooooo many people. I arrived near sunset, drove around both sides, and then left for another spot.
Roads are pretty bumpy.
Report Check-InLast three pictures are 2024. Not spacious, with lots of glass around.
Report Check-InThis place has definitely seen better days. It's crowded, trashy, noisy, and probably will be closed by next year. A lot of tent campers without vehicles, that have the same spot they had 2 months ago. Barking unleashed dogs, wood chopping, loud music, and ATVs. I lived in Tucson before becoming nomadic and the decline of this place in the last 3 years is downright shameful and sad.
Report Check-InA good place to spend multiple nights. Many rigs made it feel safe. I tried some BLM land to the north 2 miles, but as soon as I got into bed multiple gun shoots went off and kept going off till I left.
This is close to a main road and fire station, best option around West of Tuscon
Report Check-InThere is a newer bigger sign at the entrance reminding campers of the 14 day limit and to pack in and pack out. Glad that some of the Snyder Hill area is still accessible. Not overcrowded tonight and everyone is being respectful regarding not being loud. Not to sound judgey but there is such a big difference between traveling campers and squatters. It's rather sad that places are being closed due to the local homeless.
Report Check-InPerfect place, plenty of room if you want to visit Old Tucson and Sagaro NP
Report Check-InIt’s fine for a place to park the rig and sleep. Just a dirt area. This area didn’t have any big rigs. They were just east of the fire station.
Report Check-Ingreat views. good size rigs can fit. A decent amount of people out today.
Report Check-InSnyder Hill area is a relatively good place to camp, overall. There are pros and cons
There's trash here, and it's a place we should all try and clean back up. Abandoned camping gear, car parts, large amounts of trash here. Lots of abuses of the land, but lots of good people too.
There seem to be unleashed dogs whenever I stay here. I saw a dog running along the highway by camp yesterday, cars slowing down as they passed. That sucks to see :( Lots of other reasons to always keepa leash on your pupper, always.
It's a great place for people of all walks of life, but it's not no simple campground.
Report Check-InAs previously described, very busy with plenty of space for all. Definitely rather close to roadway although quite a bit of desert between parking, desert and major road. Area is raining 🌧 right now so definitely muddy, uggh
Report Check-InSpent a few nights here since it's so close to Tucson. Great spot to get over to the new Planet Fitness in the morning or evening, but not a lot of amenities nearby aside from a few gas stations. We only stayed on the east side of the hill since its parking situation is a lot less formal / organized. The west side (as viewed from the top of the hill) looks organized, but full of mega 5th wheel campers, and we prefer to stick around vans / cars / tents. All in all, a good spot to sleep and watch incredible sunsets from the hill!
Report Check-InThis place is super flat and cell service is great. However, there are a lot of dogs unattended off leash. I had three in less than 12 hours come start fights with my dog who is leashed and tethered to my van. If you have dogs, and they don’t have good recall and are wanderers, and you’re around LOTS of people with dogs, LEASH YOUR DOG. It’s not that hard.
Report Check-InAs described in previous comments. Popular with little privacy but lots of space here and the surrounding area to find a spot. Quite a bit of road noise. Was decently clean when we were here. most neighbors looked like they were posted up to stay a while.

Report Check-InVery busy, but the area is so large it's easy to find a spot. I stayed a week, leaving most days, and was able to find a place to park each evening. This side does seem less crowded than the south side of Snyder Hill & across the road is even less busy, but roads are worse. There were some sites that had trash piles, but most were clean. Some areas shimmering with lots of broken glass in the open center area so look out for that! Good service with T-Mobile.
Little to no privacy with sounds of generators, conversations, dogs barking & some distant shooting but it definitely felt safe with all the other campers around.
This is our second time staying here and have never had an issue. It is crowded, but easy to find a spot even in the dark or on a weekend. No amenities, but it is free. Decent cell service on ATT.
Report Check-InNot sure who would describe this place as clean. Garbage, broken glass, and way too many campers add up to a place I would only stay again if I was desperate. Basically a big dirt pit with lots of vehicles. Will check out the other location as perhaps it's a bit better. Across the street is also a lot of space but 4x4 required because of soft sand. If you can get in there it's much better.
Report Check-InBlm land. Quite a few RVs and vans. Good cell reception. Unfortunately theres a lot of trash and broken glass. Its free though.
Report Check-InNice flat very clean desert land very good for tent small and big rigs. Used entrance on W Old Ajo Hwy near Fire station nicer flat. Just better and quiet for us. Good tv with antenna and Verizon internet.
