Now permanently closed. He pointed out to the neighborhood who can accommodate tents and probably car/van but nothing bigger. Looked very very basic and not much security. didnt stay there.

Great place on the water. Had electricity and possibly WiFi for 80 pesos per person per night. Nice and secure with small cabañas for the traveler needing a rest from camping. Fill up on petrol (gas) and food before coming.

Ni stay in Xcalak, no beach for swim but lovely place. We paid 80 per adult for one night. Showers are clean.

Unfortunately we haven’t met Toby. There was nobody at the campground so we asked at the restaurant, the lady said it was now 80pp, and there was no wifi anymore. We’ve decided to camp right on the beach, for free.

Nice spot direct at the beach and in a small town with friendly locals. Place is big enough for all kind of rigs. Wifi available, cold showers and electricity. We paid 80 Pesos p.P.p.N., Lady said it is high season. Nevertheless we were the only ones here ;-) If you like to snorkel then ask Toby about Captain Oscar. He took us and two other persons on a nice private snorkel/boat trip. 3h for 500 Pesos p.P., Gear included!

Overlanders Paradise. Payed 60 per night with motorbike and tent. Worth the long trip only if you stay at least 2 nights. Try Toby's restaurant.

Amazing location right on the ocean. Bar, restaurant with delicious food, bathroom and showers. Camping has space for tents and small rigs. There is electric, wifi and water. Toby is amazing and will help you with local knowledge. You can snorkel, kayak, paddle board right from the site. Sunrise is stunning. The town is small so fill up with gas and groceries before you arrive. Dive schools and fishing and snorkel tours are easy to find. M$60 per person

Very quiet little town and spot. The perfect place to stay away from the touristic, busy and expensive area of Cancun.
From now on, it's 60 pesos pp.
Don't take the dirt road along the coast heading north between punta hernanda and Mahahual as previous comment recommended, unless you enjoy slow, bumpy, boring road with few points of view over a dirty shore.
If you expect to swim around here, you'll have to continue the road from toby's place along the coast and seek for private hotel beach with clear blue water. In front of Toby's place it's a braun water you don't want to swim in.

Great camping spot right across from the beach. New shower with temped water and flush toilets. Extremely friendly hosts and wifi from restaurant will reach camp site. Plenty of parking for all size rigs. To get here you can NOT take the beach rode all the way as the bridge is out north of Xcalak. I recommend taking the beach rode as far as possible as it is a beautiful view of the cost and the reef as it begins to form and then continues all the way south. Beautiful places to stop and swim along the way. Cost is $50 pesos per person a night. Includes wifi, showers, flush toilets. Beautiful view of the reef right outside your window. Great camping spot.

got here Thursday of Easter weekend. we're told large group of tenters coming on so didn't think we'd fit? when we said we had our own bathroom she said okay. we got plugged in but have to wait for Toby to get price. beach front could be nicer but view from rig is lovely. road here is 99% paved. Paid 100p.
