the parking area is apparently private property and the owner no longer lets people camp here overnight due to problems mostly with locals. if you park up by the greenhouse that the tortoise people own apparently that's a different property and it's actually outside of the private property but it's also deep sand.
the property owner said it is ok to park during the day and stay for the sea turtle release. The owner also interprets Mexico law to his benefit with regards to beach's being public. if he decided to put up a fence that would effectively close parking here so it's probably good idea to just not camp

could not camp. private property
police chased us out. day parking only

Report Check-In

Spent 1 night here, I had read about the possible noise but didn't think it would be that bad, I was wrong we almost left at 2am because of the noise. Next day moved to the spot recommended about 3 miles north and was much better. When we left in the morning we notice a truck stuck going south out of here on the road.

Report Check-In

nice beach for watching the sunset and the whales. We've learned that much of the parking area is private property and the owners don't allow camping. There aren't any bathrooms and we've been told it's very noisy at night
We're going 3 miles north to la pastora to camp.

When you visit this place, please support the volunteers by a donation. They do a great job!
It is amazing to take part in the release of the little turtles.

Report Check-In

Nice beach parking Lot to sleep for free, with the sound of the waves.
Amazing sunset, we could watch some whales jumping really near the beach. Turtle release depends on little turtles ... there was only one born the day we were there.
Some people got stuck on the road, but de could manage our way through with our 2wd, high clearence car.

Report Check-In

Beach access. parking is on private property. There are campers but this is not a campground. soft sand, bad access police will chase you out at night. better camping 3 miles North at La Pastora.

Report Check-In

Used to stay here but it's become a party place for locals since they paved the road to the turn off. It's private property on the south end so I you decide to risk the music 'til dawn crawl towards the bank on the north end closer to the turtle release site. Way quieter at LA Pastora just a little bit to the north.

Report Check-In

Camped on the beach for free and watched turtle release into ocean at 5pm. No bathrooms or showers. Very soft sand so be careful, saw some people get stuck in it on another road. Some locals played music at night but left after a little while. Helped volunteers at the turtle rescue the next morning dig up one of the turtle pods, an unexpected amazing experience. The volunteers are very nice and will gladly tell you more about their mission and the turtle releasing process.

Report Check-In

watch the tides if you plan to camp on the beach we had a bug wave push water pretty close to us despite being in the parking lot. tide was 1.3 meters.

not too buggy seemed pretty mellow. a bunch if people came for sunset then left. we were here on a Thursday.

big waves crash onto fairly steep beech. very difficult if not imposible to swim.

There's a sign reading: 'Release at Sunset Nov - April. Check our Facebook for details. www.todostortugueros.org. Phone # 612-177-8393'. If the only reason for you to come here is to see the release of the turtles, it might be a good idea to check this beforehand. We have been here on April 19th and locals told us that the very last hatching was three days before :(

Report Check-In

Free level parking near the baby sea turtle release site. Turtles are released every day at sunset November - May depending on how many hatched that day. Today it was 18, yesterday it was 40. Tomorrow...? It's Sunday night, so I thought I would dodge the partying locals mentioned in other reviews... no such luck, they pulled up with music playing around 8pm. I'm posting this at 9 and the party shows no signs of letting up.

Report Check-In

the place is busy and loud (locals on weekends), but the turtles are really worth it. In season you can watch as volonteers dig the babies out and realease them into the sea, everyday at 5 pm.

Report Check-In

I like turtles! Didn't camp but came to see the baby turtles being released. Donate if you visit so the volunteers can keep up the hard work.

Report Check-In

We were there for the turtles and that was a really nice experience. You can camp on the parking lot. There is not a lot of space but it was ok.

Report Check-In

We were not able to rwach this place because an electric wire was hanging over the road. Our van was too high to drive under.

Report Check-In

Great beach location, but definitely not a swimming beach, the waves are monstrous. They release the turtles from here, not nightly but for sure Tuesdays and then randomly some other days. We were the only ones here, some came and went and some locals were playing music until about 11pm, but we felt safe. Beware of high tide, we woke up and found water around us, just keep to the left and you should be fine.

Report Check-In

Intéressant !! Après le coucher du soleil des petites tortues sont relâchées vers la mer par une équipe de la conservation de la faune. Instructif pour adultes et enfants ! Beaucoup de vent et belle grande plage tranquille.
