Report Check-In

normal check point turned into corrupt police and local trying for a 350usd bribe
when stopped at the boom got signalled to back up and park on the side. a car came up from behind and just hit us. police claimed he was parked and owner of car wanted 350usd
luckily he accepted copies of our papers as warranty otherwise we might have had to pay.
watch out here

Report Check-In

Asked to see our TIP and original license. 5 minute stop.

Report Check-In

Easy enough to bypass. Looks like there were gates/bars blocking traffic in both directions, with a hold up of at least three trucks in each direction. Don't pay bribes!!!

Report Check-In

We were told to go inside and show papers. The cop in the office wanted 10bs to let us pass. I told him that other travelers were not asked to pay. He asked me which travelers so I made up names until he stamped our TIP and sent us on our way.

Easily avoided by taking side streets.

Report Check-In

They made us stop and go into the office with all our documents. We parked directly in the middle of the road just to block things up a bit - with helped us avoid paying anything.

Report Check-In

Heading south bound. police checked TIP and stamped it. Didn't ask for money.

lovely encounter with Bolivian police again!. we had to show our both driver licences plus 5 bl. when I asked why, he ssid it was to feed the locals in the community!. of course I offered food for the "community", but he refused... the main problem with bolivia is the corruption. its a beautiful country, but with horrible people. specially if you are Chilean.... sad, but real.... enjoy Bolivia

Showed the Aduana papers and licence. Got a stamp on the back of Aduana paper. 4 or 5 others came in while we were there and received their stamps without paying anything. He asked for 10 Bs. I asked what it was for, to which he replied to get through the gate. I asked why nobody else had to pay, to which he replied that it was voluntary for the man who lifts the gate. We walked out without paying anything.
