Description

Lot right on the beach. it is peaceful and quiet, the boardwalk starts 50m away and is full of bars and restaurants. The toilet is a classic bucket flush but it is clean and actually has a toilet seat! The lady who runs the camp is very friendly and sweet, she runs the little store across the street and that is where you go for information and to pay.

Price is MXN 80 pppn plus additional price for the vehicle depending on size (between MXN 30-80).

Now 120 pesos per person.

Crazy price for what they give, toilet are very very basic…. No wifi, 100pesos for electricity ?? We just stay one night We passed last year, and now the price is the double….

Report Check-In

Ok spot. Stayed 4 nights. Clean bathrooms and Beatriz and family are very nice. Lots of sargasso, which didn’t really bother us while we were there, but as soon as they started cleaning it up for Easter, the water got clearer, my kids could see fish, and swimming at the sites was more enjoyable. The town itself is a drunk cruise ship vibe- wasn’t our favorite but had to kill some time before crossing the border.

Report Check-In

Clean campsite, Beatriz is very kind and helpful. There is some Sargassum, but they try to clean at the campsite every morning. $100 PP plus $80 pesos for the car/camper/Rv

Nous y avons passé deux nuits très agréables. Réussi a y garer notre 8,5m. Wc et douche froide. Pas de wifi ni 3/4G. Snorkeling à la nage possible. Ils prêtent une bouée très gentiment.

Report Check-In

very nice place on the beach, close to the center.
we parked with our car for one night. 100 p/p and 50 p for the car. clean shower and toilet. there is a place with light you can seat and its also getaway from the wind so we could use our cooking gear and make ourselves a dinner which was very nice. there is no kitchen. no wifi. electricity there is!
the wind was great for sleeping, there was a smell of Sargaso, especially in the morning but not to bad. definitely recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Other accounts accurate as reported. Very chill place. Plenty of trees to tie off hammocks. Beware of falling coconuts!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Very friendly lady how run the place. Directly at the beach and short walk to the malecon. We liked it and stayed a few nights. Good italian restaurant 100m in direction south, Hotel Luna de Plata.

Report Check-In

This looked like a very beautiful place, but when we were there the smell from the sargasso was so bad that we decided to look further down the road. Should be great when the sargasso clears up.

Big RV, 2 People + Electricity = 290 Pesos
Really nice place, bucket flush, cold showers, everything was clean and working. The host is selling jewellery at the side. unfortunately it had a lot of sea gras in our time there, big shopping street a few minutes away so its quite, just the bar next to the campground were playing very loud music sometimes. well, one of the camper there is a DJ so one night we had a kinda private party :) so enjoy ur stay

Report Check-In

Great place right on the beach. Clean toilets (flush with bucket). She would clean the toilet from the sand every morning! We paid 100 pp, no extra charges. Her son can rent you snorkel and kayak to paddle to the coral reefs. They also sell fresh fish!

Great camping, Beatrice is a nice person! She lives across the road. We paid 80 pesos per person, no additional charges. The beach and water is cleared every from seeweed. The toilet is clean, and has a seat cover :) recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Nice campground and lovely owner Beatrice. She lives just next door in the little supermercado. Toilets and showers were clean (normal toilet with toilet seat but you flush with bucket). The pricing is a bit complicated. She asked for MXN 80 pppn and an additional price for the car. So our Minivan was MXN 30 but she told us a bigger car would be up to MXN 80 again. Just ask here maybe negotiable! Enough space for one big rig and two smallers.

Report Check-In

Nice place right at the beach. Charged 350 mxn for 3 persons, 4 dogs, big rig an electict (no AC). Bucket flush toilet and cold shower but excellent location

Report Check-In

Amazing beachfront spot. Small, probably comfortable for about 4 rigs. In the evening it was quiet and the sunsets were beautiful. There was a nice shade palapa for chilling in the shade or a place to be protected for a quick workout. I enjoyed the promenade close by AFTER the cruise ship patrons left. Reasonable at 80pp and you can plug in if you have a long enough cord. Would’ve stayed longer but ran out of propane and the closest station was 45 minutes south. The woman who owns the place lives across the street and was very helpful and had a great family.

Report Check-In

Very simple camping right at the beach. 80 pesos a night for a van is a very reasonable price... The commercial beach in Mahahual is crowded, so your private little beach at the camping is exceptional + you can wake up with the most stunning sunrises! Yes -> the seaweed is not so nice -> part of our changing Mother earth -> you don’t like iT? Skip the whole Yucatan Peninsula -> just don’t come here ;-) Make sure to book a snorkling trip to see turtles and so on -> Mahahual is the best place to do iT!!!! 300 pesos and you’re good to go and explore a bit of the underwater world!

Report Check-In

Nice little spot. Bathrooms are in very poor condition but clean. Price now $80pp and not negotiable, but Beatriz is very nice and friendly. Good snorkeling off shore, on the reef.

Report Check-In

Nice and simple beach camp with some shade just south of the malacon in Mahahual. Price is now 70 Pesos pp, no negotiations possible... showers & toilet (bucket flush, toilet paper available) more or less ok.
Just put your hammock up and enjoy the view :-) Although the whole coast in the Yucatan has a problem with algeas for several months and swimming is therefore not a bliss :-(

Report Check-In

UPDATED PRICE: It is now 70 pesos per person to stay here - no negotiation possible.
This is a nice campground in Mahahual and only good option we could find for a reasonable price.
Beach views and palm trees are basically the same as Playa Paraiso, for much less of a price.
No wifi and no electrical, though a couple of plugs to charge your phone next to the toilet.
Toilet is with a bucket but clean - shower is cold but OK.
Sea was full of seaweed, they say it's been almost 4 months like this. A group of people clean everyday but if the wind is strong it is the same thing again the next morning.
To swim to the reef it's a bit too far away, and lots of boats coming and going. Also with the seaweed there is not much to see for most of the swim.
Quiet at night, and a bit windy which was good to sleep.
We had the place to ourselves and our friends the first 2 days, on the weekend it filled up with hammocks and tents.

Report Check-In

Small, pretty spot on the outskirts of town. I fit with a 21-ft rig, but wouldn’t want to try something much bigger. Close enough to be convenient, and far enough to be quiet. The woman who runs it is very nice & speaks good English. If you want to snorkel here, she said you have to swim with a buoy so you’re visible to the boats. She can lend you one. Paid 60 pesos for 1 person.

Report Check-In

We passed by to check the place. Not very nice, full of algae, smell very bad, we didn’t like it. So we moved forward.

Report Check-In

The price is 60 pesos now. Everything else is the same =)

Report Check-In

Wonderful spot just off the malecon and right on the water. This would only be big enough for smaller campers or tents and we were packed in pretty tight. Still a very quiet place. 2 adults, 2 kids = 240p per night. No negotiation. Other descriptions of the toilets seems accurate, but the cold showers weren't really cold and they have good pressure. The bathrooms are fairly clean. I was expecting worse from the description.

Report Check-In

as described before. very nice place at the beach. calm. the lady who runs it is super nice and friendly. the little shop has some eggs, water and basic food right on the site. christmas price is 60pesos but i think the place is definetly worth it.
beautiful

Report Check-In

A small lot on the beach with some palm trees for shade. There are bathrooms, each with a bucket flush toilet and a cold shower. The owners are very nice and try to keep the bathrooms clean and stocked with toilet paper. The beach front area is very nice and clean. As described, it's a short walk to restaurants/bars/shops on the malecon but far enough away to be quiet. Great relaxing vibe. We tent camped here for two nights. 50pesos/person.

Report Check-In

Should have said that it was 45 peso per person to camp ;)

Lot right on the beach, it is a bit dumpy and the beach is in dire need of a cleanup. But it is peaceful and quiet, the boardwalk starts 50m away and is full of bars and restaurants. The lady who runs the camp is very friendly and sweet, she runs the little store across the street and that is were you go for information and to pay.
