Lots of trash :( but great spot inbetween zone and cali good service fire rings, the saddle mountain trail was crazy awesome!! We stayed a few nights

Gorgeous place to be this time of year. One of the warmer places during a recent cold snap. Keep in mind that you lose the sun a bit early here because of the western peaks. Well worth the stay, look around for chalcedony and agate. Wander over the washes and rock and head into the basin of the mountain range. You can feel the history here, what was once a part of a migratory route for indigenous tribes. My respect for this place comes easy. Weekend crew is loud with target practice and 4x4s but I felt very safe here regardless. Dog friendly, barely any pokies compared to the eastern side of Phoenix, we can hike freely here off trail no worries which is a dream. Flies are a thing but it wasn't unbearable

We got there in our Promaster. Road is rough but doable. We spent a nice and quiet night. Only 2 other vehicles in a distance. In the morning, while walking nearby, we saw «donuts» freshly made on the ground. We wondered what kind if people are coming by and didn’t want to see. We didn’t stay.

Great place to camp, lots of space. Slow drive in as the roads are rocky. Np for 2wd vehicles although you’ll come across the odd big dip in the roads.

Be adventurous and hike the mountains, you won’t be disappointed.

We did have several flies visit us during our stay. Keep your screen door closed!

Just one more. Fine place good for one night not of big interest. Feel safe. Just of the Highway....

This place is amazing…. No one anywhere….
I made it with my 17 feet trailer but I have offroad package on it with beefy tires. Lots of rocks so I would be careful with anything bigger and heavier.
If you can make it up to this area its well worth it! Lots of cool hikes in the area.

Loads of space. Easiest time finding a spot that we’ve ever had on blm land. Pulled up after dark in a rwd van and had no issues. Quite a few people pulled in after us too. Left early so can’t say much else. Good stopover from NM to cali.

Quiet night. Brief coyote visit. Road in is bumpy but 4wd not required. Lots of space. Night/afternoon winds. Good cell service. Beautiful place to view shooting stars!

The entrance as described by the GPS coordinates is wrong: it leads to a private gated road. Turn onto a dirt road about 500 feet earlier than indicated and the follow the road. 4x4 is not necessary (unless it is raining) but high clearance is recommended. Also air down the tires: the road is very rocky. RVs and longer vehicles will have a hard time for sure.

Probably accessible by car or SUV. Cakewalk in 4x4 truck. This site is on the east side of the mountain and is less peopled than the north side (side toward interstate). Plenty of places to camp here. Wonderful scenery, great vibe. Did hear some distant rifle fire; no holes in camper yet!

As for big rigs, yeah, they'd fit, but good luck getting one this far in. Lots of big rig accessible camping closer to the access points.

Tents, yes, of course, but rarely have I seen less hospitable ground for one. All rocks. Just rocks everywhere to the point you have to watch your feet walking around else you will surely trip.
