flat site next to the Dexter Creek. Only a few minutes drive from Ouray, we spent a couple of days in Ouray, and drove out here in the evening. The river is loud but it's a sound I could listen to all day.

Stunning area. Backed into the spot with back doors at fire pit and river. This is definitely the type of area that poets would go to to get their inspiration. Full moon rising right above the creek. Absolutely stunning place to spend earth day at :)
Report Check-InNice spot by a river. Easy to come and go from town. Couple spots very steep.
Report Check-InThe road was just fine for our promaster van. There was a lot of trash at this site to include a couple of mattresses. We wouldn't recommend it for that reason and the fact that there was a lot of traffic and the spots are very close to the road. Fine for one night if you want to stay close to town.
Report Check-InSteep road in but I did it in my 19ft Winnebago with no problems. No cell service, lovely sounds of the running water. Obvs in winter this place would be a whole different ball game!
Report Check-InThis place is okay at best. no cell service and only really 2-3 good spots that get taken quickly. i camped way at the top of the steep rocky road in my 22ft motorhome by the river crossing. i thought it was a dead end but a few people in trucks crossed in the middle of the night and hit my motorhome stairs (my fault for leaving them out). about 4 other vans came to my spot and turned back down due to no other options. some settled to be super sloped right below me… better luck in ridgeway
Report Check-InWonderful! Better than described. Easy to get there and fast to get into town. Great access to creek and fire pits.
Report Check-InGood place!
Spring and and summer are ok to go up with 2wd.
No cell phone cover.
Beautiful place, you just need very good stakes if you set up a tent near the road.
Report Check-Inright on edge of creek. great one night stop. when I was here, minimal traffic and one other boondocking. is a pull out right next to the road so you'll have to be comfortable with that. didn't go pass the bridge though saw a few do it, with rain expected was worried about getting stuck on the way down. probably would have be fine but didn't want to chance it.
Report Check-InA perfect place for the night very close to the city. At some places still some snow on the road but no problem to drive. Not one car passed buy as we where there so it was very quiet - only the lovely sound of the river. Recommended.
Report Check-InNice forest service road to multiple camp sites along dexter creek. We found a nice one on the left down a steep road, overlooking dexter creek.
Report Check-InNice spot for the night. We were lucky there were lots of other campers all over the place.
Report Check-Inwe camped here for 2 nights during the ice climbing season, which meant we couldnt drive all the way up the road as it would've been too icy in the morning, but there was a wide road on the right which we safely parked in at night and then ice climbed at the park during the day.
the ladies at the information centre in town are also very helpful and lovely!
good place near the bridge
lot of cars all day
an another spot 350m after the bridge
Great spot! We parked next to the bridge. There a some people passing by but a real nice quiet spot!
