Description

As with many BLM spots, there are plenty of places to park your rig free of charge. Unfortunately the locals don't take their garbage with them, so be prepared to see lots of target garbage, bullet shells and broken glass in some spots. If you pull in during the day you'll be able to find a relatively clean spot. Friday night was super quiet but folks started to show up around 9am Saturday morning to shoot. As Canadians, this was pretty cool to see. Everyone from beefy men to little old ladies were out to play, and some of the guns we saw were crazy impressive. Definitely a different culture from what we're used to.
We suspect weekdays are pretty quiet. We didn't see any firepits, but there are lots of rocks to build one yourself. No one's going to stop you.
We were surrounded by cool mountains and foothills and from our spot could see some lights from Pahrump.
The road in is gravel, but easily accessible for 2wd. High clearance isn't required. This wasn't the BEST spot, but it's a pretty great alternative to sleeping in the Walmart in Pahrump. If you're staying in the area, this is a solid choice.

Imagine parking at a shooting range on the outskirts of a city to camp and then complaining about red necks being red necks... Pretty cool place to come during the day if you’re not from a shoot em up country. All sorts of people with all sorts of guns, half of them clearly have no idea so beware, not a place to hang around. Couldn’t pay me to camp here or anywhere within a couple kms

Don't go here. Just tried to find parking after a long day of driving and someone shot at me. I was driving slowly as I only have small clearance and parked so they could pass, that's when they fired the first time. I turned around and stopped again to see where to go next when they fired a second and third time from their car.

As a local, I can say that most of us pick up after ourselves. I never imagined people actually staying over night at the shooting range when there is vast desert all around to stay on. A lot of hooligans from Vegas come out here to shoot off guns and fireworks. I live nearby and can hear it regularly when I am in town. This area is great for winter docking. Otherwise it's too hot and there is not much for water sources.

We also stayed on a Friday night. The shooting started at 4am the next day, in the dark. Didn't feel safe at all.
Also, trash everywhere.

As Canadians too, we were not impressed.
