Grassy coastline popular with locals. Plenty of opportunities along several kilometres. The spot we picked was in a lovely tree filled spot with semi- cover from the road.
Dec 2019- this pin is probably in the wrong place, or the access roads that are mentioned hace now been blocked off.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

This point may be incorrect, as here there are small tracks down to the beach but they all have houses on each side which seem to be occupied, and there is little by way of parking or shade when you reach the front. The spot further down the coast is also blocked off so the spot someone found amongst the trees is no longer an option. We returned to Piriapolis and stayed in the lot by the beach at the South entrance to town; there may have been more options further afield but we didn't have time to check last night.
Report Check-InIndeed a nice spot. Stayed here for couple of days until someone complained about us to the Uruguayan navy and they came to investigate. Friendly guys. Informed us that someone filed a complaint and its not allowed by law to sleep/camp straight at the beach. Day time use is fine. Just park prox. 5km east fom here on the beach/river spot and its hidden enough for nobody to care. Maybe...
Report Check-InLoved this spot! Found a spot behind the trees and were totally hidden from the road. It's true- you don't hear traffic, just the waves.
Report Check-InThere are heaps of nice little spots along the coast here. Just look for an appropriate track into the trees to suit your vehicle. Popular this Easter weekend, but even right by the road it was quiet - just the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore. Great views up and down the coast. No facilities, free. Felt very Safe with lots of other people fishing and camping in tents around the place.
Report Check-InWe didn't overnight at this place, but we saw some tents between the trees, close to the beach.
