After heavy rains its only for 4x4. Road gets extremely muddy at parts and i towed 2 locals out. Ask local Police for road conditions if warning signs are up

Report Check-In

very slippery mud at the very beginning. the rain and cold temperatures make the mud like ice. beware motorcyclists!! cars no problems. it s very compact dirt with only the sides with deep and blocky pieces of mud. it lasts only for 4-5 km then it changes to gravel.

We drove the road in our 1957 Mercedes and it was easy to drive across. The weather had been good for a few days, really no issues at all. Saw several locals in heavily loaded small VWs. Would be more difficult to pass after several days of rain but we think it is still passable for most cars.

road open again. warning not to drive during rainy days, can get very muddy !

Report Check-In

Road exactly as described previously. Southern section is bumpier and has more potholes than northern section . Middle section "paved" for like 3km some potholes there as well. Northern section is pretty good ripio, we had a nice sunny day not too much wind on a pop up camper .

Super muddy a bridge is out in a section but there is an old road to get around. We made it through in 4x4. Saw two other more modern SUVs make it. Road is currently marked closed. Saw a motorcycle struggling. We had a great adventure making it through here.

I don't know what the big is. We did this in my busted up Kombi at 70km/h. We just put on Justin Timberlakes first album a sang along the whole way. It was over before we knew it. We suggest you do the same. Pro-tip...the album is the exact time from start to finish as this road if you avg 68.97kmh. Kinds freaky actually. Anyway, if you've already done Ruta 7, this is a breeze. We did it the day after rain and it was packed dirt again.

Report Check-In

Unnecessary advice from auto drivers to motorcyclists. Did you ever think for a minute that people had gotten themselves this far and could probably make it 70km on dirt? Yes, rain turns dirt to mud, wind can be windy, and 1+1=2. Thanks for reiterating things that everybody knows 👌🏻👍🏻

Done the 70km in 1:20 hour from south to north with 2 motorbikes. We were lucky as it was dry and the wind was not too strong. It is visible that the road is very bad when it is getting wet. In the section where they construction is ongoing you have deep gravel with some lines made by the cars you can take but the wind can push you out of these.

Report Check-In

Warning for motorcyclists:
Some stretches are dirt which turns into terrible mud when it rains.
If it's wet it's really slippery (we met two who took a fall) and when it starts drying up it'll stick to the tires, your shoes...until you can't move another meter.
We passed a few hours later and had no troubles at all.

Report Check-In

road is no problemo with a car if its not very windy. with strong wind not fun, if you are with a motorbike be very careful, we saw 3 bikers who fell because of the combo of wind and stones. maybe check the wind forecast before or bring a lot of posotive energie

The location of start, end and intermediate patch are still up-to-date. The northern half is a good, even, hardened gravel road that is about 6 vehicles wide, with no washboard or potholes. Max speed sign says 40 km/h, but you can safely drive 70 km/h there. The southern half consists of several sections with loose gravel or large stones on uneven terrain with few potholes, so you'll probably want to limit yourself to 50km/h. That said, every vehicle can pass this road without problems, it is merely a nuisance.

I missed an "as" above: The last 30 are just as an unpaved track has to be.

Report Check-In

This road isn't too bad. Heading from south it begins a bit stony so you have to go slow. But it's getting better. From time to time some stony areas but not to much. In the middle there is even a part paved about 4 kilos. The last 30 are just as unpaved track has to be. There is even a perfect wind protected place to have an overnight spot a little more to the south.

A street / way only with stones and with a camper its a little bit boring...You have to drive slowly and carefully....!

Report Check-In

El tramo en ripio continua el mismo. La obra de pavimentación está paralisada.
