Argentina
This is not a camp, just the park entrance. Before entering you must register at the ranger station 6 km to the North. BTW the station is worth a visit anyway!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
20km to drive until the little parking. Then 5km in total to walk to see the penguins. Now there are babies !
You have to register for free at the visitor centre (6km north of the gate)
You have to open the door. Really to do with a motorhome 2x4. Gravel road in a really good state!
Report Check-In22 km of rocky good gravel road. No problem for a 2wd but take it easy.
Report Check-InOnce registered with the Guardaparque 6 km north, you can enter the Monte Léon park here. Do not hesitate to open the barrier and close it after you. 20 km of track to access Mont Tête de Lion by the sea and a little less for the walk to the penguin colony.
Report Check-InTo enter the park and use the trails, you must first register at the park building at this location. The registration building is about 6km north of the gate on Ruta 30. Do not enter through the gate without first registering. It is well worth going to this effort if you want to see the penguins.
Report Check-InPark is now open 9am to 8pm. The penguin walk closes at 5pm. It's well worth the drive especially if you can make it in time for low tide to see the tidal pools.
Report Check-InThe road is open again! There are still some roadworks but as long as it is not raining the road is accessible. It is a 16 km gravel/sand road with some bigger rocks on the street but no 4x4 needed. We did it with a small car.

Report Check-InJust happened to come across this Park by seeing it in ioverlander. No camping anymore but great wildlife viewing. Park office open 9-4 and Park itself open 9-5.
See Penquins (lots), sea lions, seals, birds. One of best parks we have seen in Argentina for wildlife. We interrupted our travel to see first thing in morning and stayed most of day visiting different parts of park.
Photos are Park map and coordinates just inside gate of actual park (-49.99718, -68927844) 6 km south of park office.

Report Check-InThe2dutch. IT was not allowed to stay at the information center, 6 km north. IT was a heavy rain and rangers advised us in first instance not enter the Parc , but later they say: Try it and if iT is too wet you come back. We enter the parc and we come in a slip? And it was not possible to go forward or back. After one and half hour a ranger come and help us out with his 4x4 IT was too late to go to another place, so we stay here for the night.
