Description

The original campsite was located next to the main gate, has now moved to this new location.

Very spacious and flat campsite, plenty of shade, with brick built bbqs. Ablutions very clean, with solar powered hot water. Very nice communal space with spacious kitchen (fridge and gas stove available). Staff very friendly, made a fire for us in the fire pit, set up chairs. Bar available at the campsite with small selection of drinks. No power at sites but sockets available in the communal area. Very quiet, fenced so safe to walk at night. Swimming pool available at the restaurant next to main gate, about 8 mins drive from campsite. The only issue we had: several sun spiders came attracted to our lights, so we had to chase them away.

Park fees: 10 USD for South Africans and 30 USD for Europeans per day. 4 USD for a car. Charges per day but if you camp for one night you only pay once.

Very nice campsite in the national park. Staff are friendly and helpful - they light a fire each evening and will also do your washing up whilst you’re not looking! Clean ablutions and very nice communal area with kitchen and fridge

Very nice clean campsite. A-frame tent option too which has hanging space, 2 beds with nice bedding, mosquito net, electricity with a fan and 2 chairs outside and a private braai area. Very comfortable.

The communal kitchen with gas stove and fridges and the ablutions are kept very clean. A fire is made every evening. There is comfortable seating in the open air lounge which also has fans. A busy waterhole, where we saw 2 cheetah on two separate days, waterbuck, kudu, nyala, impala, warthogs and eland

Very nice campsite with glamping option too. We stayed in an A -frame which contains hanging space, fan, 2 beds, mosquito net, bedding and 2 chairs outside. It also has a private braai area. It was great to have electricity and a fan. Busy waterhole, including cheetah visiting. There is a large communal kitchen with fridge and gas stove. A communal fire is made each evening. The ablutions are spacious and clean. There is hot water but not much came out of the tap. With the heat in early November we didn’t use the hot water.

As described. Camp very well maintained. To clarify the pricing: $30 ($15 for locals) is for entrance. Camping is $10.
Most animal activity supposedly along the river of at the 2 water holes with hides. However, of the Big 5, we only saw elephants, and they didn't seem very relaxed around vehicles, one came running straight at us, one trumpeted at us. We also saw some warthogs, Kudus, Knyala, Impala, waterbucks, hippos, Giraffes. We might have been unlucky, but it seemed to me fewer sightings than in the famous parks like Etosha, Kruger, Hwange, maybe also because there aren't big open plains, and there are few visitors which is nice but also other cars often help spotting animals.

super campsite, large, flat pitches with brick buil bbq area. Excellent communal fireplace, plus covered lounge and large dining table. kitchen with full gas cooker and a fridge and sink which was really useful as it rained during our stay here. Majete wildlife park is doing an amazing job with restoring the wildlife and we had a fantastic 3 days self driving around. Some of the roads were not recommended for us to drive due to the heavy rains they had experienced but still plenty for us to drive on and some were very good fun! we saw so much game including elephants and cheetah and great birds.

A top class campsite with very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to use the camp kitchen to cook and even used their crockery and cutlery. Good ablutions and a comfortable general area for just chilling.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Campsite still in same condition as mentioned before. Great camping experience. Heard some hyena and elephant close to camp during the night.

The Camp: Spacious well kept campsite with ablutions (hot showers). Water & electricity available at communal kitchen which can be out of reach depending where you setup camp. $10pppn (Residence) & $30pppn (Non-Residence) (kids up to 12 years half price). Some benches and towel rails could be helpful as we had to place our stuff on the floor. You have to manage your own rubbish out of the park which we think is a brilliant rule.

The Park: Well managed big 5 reserve. We visited during rainy season so game viewing wasn’t easy but we still saw plenty game. Small antelope seemed very relaxed which means very low poaching activities and again compliments to management. The river loop up the Shire was accessible and extremely scenic with plenty birdlife and we had a amazing sighting of a pride of lionesses with 3x matured cubs. We heard hyena from camp at night and we had some amazing visits by a Spotted Eagle Owl. We can highly recommend and will definitely be back soon! Park Fees: $10pppd (Residence) and $30pppd (Non-Residence) + $4 per vehicle / day. Kids under 12 years half price.
